DJ and Sons Plumbing
Company Overview
The only full-service plumbing provider in Oklahoma City that is dedicated to repair services, renovations, and remodeling projects. After 20 years in business, our focus has remained a dedication to prioritizing our clients that seeks to offer clients options when hiring a plumber. We focus solely on one trade, allowing us to excel. No gimmicks or confusing jargon about services clients may need. We value transparency above all over salesmanship.
You can reach us for emergencies or to set an appointment. In 2000, Jim and Dave recognized that customers needed better plumbing services than what they had encountered. Frustrated by the lack of quality service, they sat down to establish the foundational principles of their own plumbing company, drawing from lessons learned from working with contractors and individual clients. The result was Affordable Plumbing, which still follows those customer-oriented principles that guide our daily operations.
DJ and Sons LLC Plumbing is more than just another plumbing service established haphazardly in a work truck during lunch. James ""Jim"" Walker began his plumbing journey as an apprentice in Shawnee, Oklahoma, back in 1996. He took advantage of every chance to gain knowledge from the basics onward. With a personal commitment to the craftsmanship of plumbing, Jim remains informed about new products and services in the plumbing industry that might provide advantages to our customers by delivering creative answers to age-old plumbing issues as the industry evolves into the 21st century.

Kirk M.Jim and Dave listened, communicated clearly and honestly, and delivered results. Knowledgeable, professional, and fair. I recommend them highly!
James B.Great communication and fair prices. The plumber that came out quickly discovered that one of my problems would not be something they could handle and said he could keep trying and may get lucky but would likely just be wasting my money. Love the honesty and openeness.
I've struggled with this house since we bought it. Sure, we bought it at a steal knowing it's needing work, but we were puzzled why we couldn't use any showers, struggled to use more than one faucet, and just had a bunch of problems. After four plumbers couldn't figure out the problem, we had the city out (at their recommendation) who did a repair and said my water was flowing great, yet I still couldn't take a shower when the dishwasher ran or anything else in the house was in use. A neighbor recommended these guys. They spotted the problem right away. My water service line was bad. I was skeptical, but played along since they guaranteed that this would solve my issue. Guess what, it did. Now we can run every faucet in the house without any problems. They were great guys and did very professional work. Their price was actually less than their estimate and they cleaned up after themselves even after I offered to throw away the roots that they pulled out of the ground. They're great.
Bobby H.These guys are expensive, and I think the name of the company should be changed to unaffordable plumbing. I had clogged pipes, and while the one staff member was extremely courteous, and knowledgeable, I couldn't help but feel taken at the end of the endeavor. Roughly 4.5 hours and $784 later I thought my pipes were cleared and I'd be past my dilemma. 7 days later I can't flush my toilet with toilet paper. I can't help but feel like a sucker, and the work isn't warrantied. Use at own risk.
After calling 11 other plumbers this morning, I finally reached out to Affordable Plumbing. I'm here to tell you: IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS! They were tremendously awesome! I received a call back immediately and had a plumber scheduled for later in the day. We were kind of a fit-in appointment, but you'd never know that by the customer service. The plumber was on time, courteous, friendly, and efficient. He cleared the problem and then even double-checked to ensure it was completely clear. From the text and email notifications to the phone scheduling, I would not hesitate to use Affordable Plumbing again. Oh, and do they live up to their name? ABSOLUTELY! Give them a call - you'll be happy you did!
Beau B.Absolutely fantastic group of people working here! I did a little plumbing on my own about a week ago (I am not a good plumber at all) and kind of jacked some stuff up. We had some water collecting near our bathroom floor, not a good thing. Got a response back from the owner really fast and I got the feeling he was really trying to figure out what the problem was, not just trying to get off the phone as fast as possible. So I already had a good feeling about them just from the original estimate.
The two gents they sent out were super professional, very helpful at explaining everything they were doing and answering all my goofy questions. I felt the price was more than reasonable. Just good people all around. I will definitely call them first before DIYing it again. A mans got to know his limitations.
On a previous job for me in OKC, Affordable Plumbing correctly branched a new section of gas line to accommodate installation of a gas stove. This was the only company who agreed to perform the job to plumbing code under a city permit. I wanted this for peace of mind of having a second knowledgeable set of eyes ensure that there would be no issues with gas line work under the crawl space. The dozen other plumbing companies I called hung up on me when I specified that I wanted Permitted work done, even though by city ordinance all gas line installations must be permitted. Turns out there's a reason the others refused the work: the gas line had to be resized to prevent gas starvation to the other gas appliances, meaning calculations had to be made and tables consulted and extra work had to be done in order to meet plumbing code. Apparently only Affordable Plumbing is able to redesign a gas system properly, while the others wanted to just hack and splice into the existing lines creating a potentially dangerous installation. A gas line MUST be installed correctly and Affordable Plumbing can do the job.
On my latest problem, the main sewer line clogged 60 ft. out from the house because of tree root penetration. Technician Dalton and his assistant were professional, knowledgeable, punctual and courteous and solved the issue without delay. I will use this company again. Recommend HIGHLY.
Prepare to spend $$$$$. I was requesting quotes online and they are at least twice as high as others. When I start asking for a breakdown trying to understand what they are actually charging for, the response gets condescending..... I was told to get my own equipment and fix my own problems.
-----------------------------------
In reply to the owner's response, there is no confusion. Below is the exact quote from a year ago when I requested the cost to clear a simple clogged bathtub drain (which another company did for much less and without special equipment).
""It's very simple. $155 per hour plus $75 for each additional drop. If you feel we shouldn't charge for each additional tool we take off the truck, I'd suggest going ahead and spending a couple thousand for a drain machine. That way you wouldn't have to pay someone to do the work I have $100,000 in equipment plus overhead sitting in your driveway. I have to make a profit or it's not worth my effort.""
These gentlemen truly do not deserve even 1 star. We called them out for a particular job. Upon the techs arrival he proceeds to give an unsolicited appraisal. He was specifically told what the job is to be, he proceeds to inform my wife and I the initial work would be about $750.00, $250.00 higher than anyone else we spoke with, he then proceeds to inform us that we needed additional work done, possibly another $700.00. This person needs to get his facts together before he errantly throws out numbers. The ""unsolicited proposal"" just went from $750.00 to $3,000.00 dollars! What sent up a red flag with me is he wanted my wife to sign for the proposal! In my 25 plus years in the service industry I have never heard of this practice, it is not unusual for me to do 6 figure bids, the only time I ask for a signature is when I clearly ask for the business. When questioned why the signature I was not able to get a straight answer. If you ever have a service company try to get your signature on a proposal, bid or recommendation DONT DO IT!! To top it all off they tried to charge my wife a proposal fee as they put it! Now remember this was an unsolicited bid, proposal however you would like to spin it! We told him what work we wanted done! I asked my wife did they clearly state there would be a trip or proposal fee, they did not! Yet Dalton, their tech, saw it fit to waste an hour of our life to give us an unsolicited proposal!! When I informed him I was not paying a ""trip or proposal"" fee he informed me he had indeed wasted an hour on this needless proposal and the clock was running. At that time he was just needlessly wasting my time! I told him just run the water line from my sink to my fridge, 5 minutes later I look outside, this incompetent company has proceeded to knock my water hose faucet out of my brick!! What in the EXPLETIVE does this have to do with running a water line for an icemaker!! Whats worse, Jim the owner was here and he is VERY unprofessional, belligerent and quite honestly a shady crook!! What are they doing wrong were they have to charge you a ""fee"" to earn your business? Bad business practices, not getting the job done right the 1st time and having to reroll techs and trucks, or just plain crooked? When I asked Jim what happened to his company, we had used them a few times before and was quite happy, all I got was yelling and threats!!! In closing I highly do NOT recommend them!!!!
Matt M.Two guys from Affordable just came out and did a TERRIFIC job in cleaning out a bath drain that had become clogged.
Great work!
