This company is one of the best. One of the only businesses around here that actually does their job and does it right. You can spend your whole life destroying your pipes with Roto Rooter or those other cheap disasters. Or you could assume that you're saving money when your cheap plumber does bare minimum and gives you a few months of what you assume are plumbing repairs. Dittman Plumbing has provided me with services for over 15 years and I trust them to the point that I share their number to most of my clients and friends. They will tell you the TRUTH and they will come help you 24 hours a day. It's silly how some believe that the cheapest parts, and the cheapest workers are giving you a good deal. Sometimes in certain areas in life you need to pay for quality. Union plumbers and hands on ownership. They may be busy. They may not be able to help you in certain circumstances but if it's super urgent and they can find a way to do it there's no competition. Good things are worth waiting for. I will never pay the cheapest price simply for the price just like I'd never be proud of the cheapest work. You can do it once the right way for a fair price or you could do it 18 times for the cheapest price. I had to review them here because they are a rare find. Treat them good. Having a relationship with Dittman Plumbing in my opinion is better than having certain types of insurance. Seriously!

As i told you in a previous post, we were charged 500 dollars to fix a leaky faucett; the guy was here less than an hour. I complained and maria, the representative said they charge 270 dollars an hour or part thereof! I told her most plumbers charge 200 per hour and told their clients up front the potential cost. Arrogantly she said they are the, paraphrasing, Rolls Royce of plumbers. I dont need a Rolls to get to work; my Camry is fine. Do not use these people without getting a quote ahead of time!!!

I called today to ask for an installation quote. A unknown lady answered. I informed her I would like to replace the shower/bathtub spout, shower head and control lever. She said she would have to come out to look at it. To save their time and mine I asked if I can take photos of the items that I wanted to replaced. She replied, ""We really don't do that."" and hung up. I would never recommend or do business with this unprofessional company. There are so many other companies out there. There ratings are not even great but now I understand why

They sent Carlos a few hours after we called - to clear the blockage below our kitchen sink. We had unfortunately used Draino ourselves last night. It not only didn't help, it made a mess.

Carlos quickly figured out what needed to be done. He unfastened the elbow below the sink and allowed the backed-up water to drain.

He then brought up the heavy-duty snake and ran it down the opened-up drain into the wall. It broke the blockage and he ran it further to be certain.

Carlos cleaned everything up after removing his tools.

He was friendly and very knowledgable. A good union plumber.

A few weeks ago Dave and Carlos came out to fix a valve problem under the kitchen sink. Dave was in charge. Both were very professional, fully vaccinated, compliant on current covid safety protocols. Highly recommend.

I was having problems with my bathroom faucet and hired one of those cheap plumbing technicians to do the job. Unfortunately, they made the situation worse. I hired Dittman to fix the problem and they did a great job.
Tom called me to let me know he was on his way, arrived on time, wore a mask and got to work immediately. He fixed the problem for a reasonable price in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dittman.

My sink started backing up in the storm and the disposal needed replacing. Dittmann is one of my HOA's approved plumbers and the HOA gets pissy about using outside people if something goes wrong (happened before) so I was trying to be compliant. The other companies were booked up. The guy showed up from Dittmann without a mask, gloves or booties and only reluctantly put on a mask that I offered when I said 'Sir please wear a mask, I have an autoimmune disease'. I went into my room while he was working and when I came out he had taken it off, put the dirty mask on my kitchen counter, and was breathing freely all over my kitchen. California is reinstating mask mandates because of Omicron. I told him to leave and he left all his dirty supplies in my kitchen. He'd already been breathing all over the place for 30 mins, a few more to clean up probably would not have made a difference. If I've been exposed, it was already too late. I have an autoimmune disease and this could kill me. I am vaccinated, but even vaccinated people can get it and pass it on. Now I'll go into Christmas wondering if I have Covid. Inexcusable, unforgivable.

Compare that with the other company I just called who asked if I'd like the worker to wear booties, asked me to wear a mask and open my windows and guaranteed the plumber would be wearing a mask. None of this precaution or courtesy with Dittmann. This is beyond discourteous, this is hostile, dangerous behavior from this individual worker. The person handling customer service was courteous, and appeared to take this seriously. He offered to have someone come clean up, and did not charge me, but it's too little too late if I have been exposed. Now I'm here with my windows open in Winter with an autoimmune disease and my Hepa filter on full blast to mitigate contamination and also at the request of the company that's coming to clean up this mess. It's my right to feel safe in my own home and now I'll be afraid for the next few weeks.

Thank you to Debbe S. from San Mateo for alerting us with your bad experience communicating with Dittmann Plumbing. We also had a good experience with them ..... in the past.

Today we had a sewer back up with 4 people sheltering in place and no option to use toilet, shower, and simply have running water.

Called in the morning (!) asking if possible to get an appointment the same day. The dispatcher promised to call back. Have NEVER heard back!

Called and spoke with the dispatcher, called and left 2 voice mails.

After waiting for 2 hours ... decided that the post from Debbe S. was spot on.
We called other places and got the service the same day (at a slightly lower price that Dittmann charged us a year ago.)

I understand that they are busy. (My HOA got a hold of them on my behalf, and it turned out that they were booked for 2 days ahead.)
I understand they don't need my business.
What I don't understand is that how you can be so rude knowing about the situation and did not have courtesy to call back and just plain say that you are booked?

We had an issue with the Kitchen Sink drain (not draining fast enough). We called and they sent a plumber over that same day! She was the best plumber I ever engaged with (sorry I forgot her name). She was like a Sherlock Holmes diagnosing the issue and determined it was a clog-gage in a common drain (this about a condominium). She put a snake to clog-up that common drain and to me it looked like she got the job done (I heard the snake scratching the entrance to the sewer line). But she was not satisfied and kept going till she got the snake to finally push the clog-gage into the sewer. Super fast response and super competent plumber, thank you Dittmann Plumbing
