Avo and team did a fine job of cleaning out all of my drains and sewer pipes. They responded quickly and had the work done quite fast - price was a little high, but they will stand behind their work.

I would rate these guys a five but they were an hour late to my original appointment. They were able to come out the same day though, which was great. I had a clog in my kitchen sink and the guy they sent, although, passed on news i didn't want to hear, was knowledgeable and patient with my questions. They weren't able to fix the problem but recommend a solution and they sent their guys back twice to take a look at subsequent leaks, at no extra charge. Overall, honest group of guys that know their stuff.

I called with a simple issue: a clog in an outside line, about 40' long and easy to access. Only when the guys arrived did they tell me they have a ""$210 minimum.""

They wanted $280 for a fifteen minute job. That would be $1,120 per hour.

These guys prey on people who are dealing with the mess of backed-up sewage. Instead of decent service, they take advantage of the situation by goring people on price. ""Discount"" Plumbing and Rooter? More like ""Extortion.""

A rental of mine had a back-up over the weekend. Called Discount Plumbing and they gave a quote of about $1200 to change a one-way clean out to a two-way. Archie, the owner explained that was the only way to fix the problem . I also got another quote which was slightly higher. I ended up going with Discount. They cleared the problem, but I felt uncomfortable throughout the process. Archie, the owner was very aggressive in his pitch. I never felt I could completely trusted him. It was the weekend so I felt pressured into getting done. They did get the job done, but honestly I had no way to judging the work.

I got quotes from various companies, and chose Discount Plumbing & Rooter Co. as Marcos (office # 650-369-8400) answered all my questions (and questions suggested by my co-workers) and willingly worked with me on pricing. I called him A LOT and each time he answered graciously.

There was always someone on site who understood my questions and answered intelligently. As said elsewhere, they used high quality material (ABS pipe, french pipe, sump pumps, canisters, cloth, river rocks) to replace our rain drain on the side of the house, as well as for the leak and flood under our house.

Marcos coordinated all the work necessary, including the electrician and waste removal. I would definitely use them again, though I hope I never need to! :)

Discount Plumbing and Rooter Company did a fabulous job at my home recently following the last heavy rainfall. My atrium had flooded and there was danger of water coming inside of my home with the next rain which was expected that night. The repair involved location of the section of drain pipe under my patio that had been invaded by roots, digging it up and replacing it with new pipe.

Discount Plumbing came out at the end of the day, assessed the problem, did what they could do in the dark and then came back the next day exactly when they said they would. The workmen, Julio, Jose and Peto were knowledgable, efficient and went right to work. Avo, the plumbing supervisor, explained in detail the work that was required and made sure that i had no questions. He was professional and courteous. Thank you,

Being a big ""do it yourselfer"", in the past I have tackled all plumbing problems myself. I know whats right and whats not when it comes to plumbing. A few yrs back I had Discount plumbing come in, locate a section of drain pipe that had tree roots growing in it, dig it up and repair. I watched over their sholder tho whole time. I was so impressed with their quaity of workmanship that it was a no brainer when I needed a backflow valve installed. They did that job perfectly. They handled all the paperwork and permits.
Having shoddy work from past contractors, I am real wary about who I hire.
It is a relief knowing that I will get excellent quality work from Discount Plumbing and Rooter. And knowing I don't have to watch them constantly. They definately live up to my standards, and Redwood City plumbing codes. They do it by the book.
I highly recommend them.
And no, I did not receive any compenasation for this recommendation.

It was Sat., the night of the welterweight boxing championship, and no one was available to show up at my residence within 3 hours, until I talked to Avo. He said he'd arrive in 45 min. but showed up at my door in 25 min. instead. Avo attempted to clear the blockage in my sewer line, but discovered it had more serious problems. The line had been broken in several places from the actions of roots over the years, which was determined with a camera. He returned promptly Sunday morning with his full crew and replaced the broken sewer line. In the process, they needed to dig up a portion of my flower garden, but after they replaced the old broken cast iron pipe with the new flexible PEX pipe, they compacted the soil and re-planted each and every plant in exactly the same location as before. Avo and his crew not only did a very professional job for me but a gorgeous one. I couldn't be happier with their superb workmanship, responsiveness, and attention to keeping me happy right down to the last detail.

I got a good recommendation for these folks from someone whose opinion I value. I called around 8:30 on Monday morning. Archie said he'd have Marco there within an hour, which he was. I explained my problem (no water) and what I thought I wanted. Marco asked good questions, gave me some options, and finally a competitive quote. Although I used the other company (who had equally rave recommendations) and cannot comment on workmanship, I wanted to give a positive review for the professionalism and response that I felt I received.
