Nick came out today and I couldn't be happier with the service. He was knowledgeable and arrived before I had even anticipated - within an hour and a half of calling! Nick was fast, friendly, and did a great job. I will definitely use this company any time I have plumbing issues!

I called them in a panic late in the afternoon because after attempting to replace parts in our shower tub we were unable to complete the job. The water was shut off and I am an able to use the water. They were unable to accommodate that afternoon but said he will have somebody out first thing in the morning. At 8:30 today Isaac came to fix our tub shower valve/ handle. He was very personable and knowledgeable. He explained everything he was going to do and what he did after he completed the job. Price was reasonable and we had a discount coupon as well. I would recommend discount plumbing and Isaac.

I don't give 5 stars very often but this company has Forest working for them. Smart decision on their part. I had HUGE issues with every pipe going to the main line being damaged and leaking in one way or another. Not what we expected to find. You would think with the extra work needing to be done, that bid would have doubled! IT DID NOT, and in fact it did not go over the original bid and I was even able to get a line put in for black tank dump. Forest was able to make me feel secure in everything he was doing and I never worried about being ripped off. I am so happy with the work performed and impressed and thankful I had Forest show up at my house..If you need Plumbing Services, seriously, ask for Forest, you will not be disappointed! *****- Five stars to you Forest! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

I am not sure that the person who responded to our house is actually a licensed plumber. He was an amiable chap. But, what plumber would attempt to attempt to do a water heater removal without having a simple pipe wrench in his tool box, which he claimed had been stolen. When the 'plumber' couldn't un-tighten the 3/4"" galvanized pipe with his channel-lock PLIERS ( a tool unsuited for that purpose), he stated that he would have to replace the whole $15 shut-off valve to which the cold water supply line was attached and that would cost about $175 to $200 extra. I told him that for a person holding himself out to be a professional plumber who doesn't have the tools to do his job that this was unacceptable. I suggested he go to Home Depot and buy a wrench; which he did. He then stated that he would replace the valve at no charge to me. This person then failed to turn off the water at one point which led to some minor flooding of the room in which the water heater was located. The entire job took this consummate 'professional' over 5 1/2 hours to complete, considering that he even had to disconnect the pipes again because there was a minor leak that he hadn't detected earlier in the job when he probably should have. My regular plumber was booked solid for the next two weeks and was unavailable. I could have, and SHOULD HAVE done this job myself. I would have saved almost $1200 in labor charges and completed the job in half the time with no flooding. The model# of the Bradford water heater is not even included on the invoice, so I can't even determine if it is Energy-Star approved as I originally requested. The cost to replace this water heater was $1700 and it should have been far cheaper, even for a Saturday. I will not use this company again, even in the event of an emergency. Finally, there is no way to determine if the work completed was in fact up to our county building codes. Being a weekend, they cannot get the proper permits, so the work in question is done without benefit of a building department inspection, and you have to sign a waiver indicating that they can go ahead and do the work, and any subsequent inspection and costs associated with it are the responsibility of the property owner.

The pilot light had gone out of our water heater a couple of days ago and I contacted PG&E to come and check it out and relight. A PG&E technician responded today and advised me that the problem was a broken gasket on the FVIR water heater. He saw that the thermocouple was not installed correctly and told me that that was just a minor/temporary fix, but that it needed a gasket, and that the pilot light kit needed to be replaced and should have been done that at the time. I told him that that particular part (thermocouple) was replaced by a local plumbing company over a year ago. The technician recommended I call a licensed plumbing contractor to fix/replace the needed part. He also said a good plumber will know what the water heater needed upon looking at it. The technician disconnected and capped the gas line to the water heater due to the unsafe condition before leaving. I felt during my contact with the PG&E technician, he was very courteous and patient in explaining what the problem was. He also talked to my husband on the phone regarding the situation. My husband then contacted Discount Plumbing in Manteca ph#800 708-0079, (as this was the business who had replaced the thermocouple last year and also give them an opportunity to rectify the problem) who advised him a plumber will be going to the house to access the problem in a couple of hours. I received a call from the business and the plumber advising me he was on his way and will be at my house shortly. In talking to the plumber who told me his name was Danny, he told me he was the one who had replaced the part(thermocouple) previously (approximately a year ago). He asked what the problem was and I told him that the pilot light had gone out to the water heater and that the PG&E technician had recommended the gasket/pilot light kit be replaced due to the bad/temporary replacement of the thermocouple. Danny told me that PG&E does that all the time, give bad advise, but will check it out when he gets to my house. I felt while talking to Danny, he got defensive upon me telling him what the PG&E technician had said. We both then hung up and he arrived shortly after. Upon arrival, Danny inspected the water heater, and told me he has seen this problem all the time, and just replaces the thermocouple. He also told me there was no guarantee that once he replaces the thermocouple, on how long it will work, it may go out again. After hearing that, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be better to replace the pilot light kit, instead of the temporary fix/replacement of the thermocouple? Just a thought, as I don't know anything about water heaters. At no time did he suggest or say the gasket/ pilot light kit needs replacing. Danny gave me several options, to include buying the thermocouple and replacing it myself, calling the manufacturer of the water heater and order the needed part(s), or he can replace the thermocouple and for the part and labor it will be $225.00. I told him I wanted to call my husband to discuss the options, which I did. My husband requested to talk to Danny, in which I handed Danny my phone and put it on speaker so I can hear the conversation also. While listening to the conversation, I heard my husband ask questions regarding the options and the cost. I could hear Danny's responding in a rude manner, and kept interrupting my husband, not allowing him to complete his sentences. At no time was my husband rude to Danny during the conversation. I then heard Danny say to the effect, ""we're done here"" in which my husband told him to leave the premises (we were in the garage at the time), handed me the phone, and while walking down the driveway to his work truck, I heard him say, ""That's bullshit"", got into his work truck and sped off, and I saw him on his cellphone while driving off, which of course, as we all know is illegal. My husband then called the business to talk to the owner regarding Danny's attitude, and was told by the person who answered the phone he could not talk to him as Danny had called in and complained about my husband and that the owner will call my husband within 48hours. Since this happened at approximately 3:30 pm, we are still awaiting a call.
I also called the water heater manufacturer regarding the needed part(s), (per Danny's recommendation) and the person I spoke to knew right away what I needed and gave me the part number, and will be sending me the pilot assembly replacement kit. At no time did this person even recommend replacing only the thermocouple. My point to this is, is Danny and/or the business being honest to their customers, and/or do they practice minor/temporary fixes, charge them, in the hopes of going back to same customers to fix it again and make more money. Danny was rude, lacked customer service, and I felt it was all about the money and temporary fixes. PG&E had nothing to gain by this, they were just doing their job in making their customers safe.

Quote from Ryan Bentz via email ""There may have been a discrepancy in communication but I can assure you Ken was not attempting to charge for 1 hour of work (399) after being there for 4 hours and 41 minutes"". This is verbatim from Ryan Bentz their administrative assistant. Further more he also explained we got a ""discount"" saying the original invoice was $1598 for those 4 hours and 41 minutes. This is exactly how he explained it "" $ 1598/2 = 799-$1=$798 is the price Ken had signed off on"" again this is a verbatim quote from Ryan Bentz. The company themselves told us an hour of work is $399 and then tried to justify it by stating we got a discount. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE.

ZERO...I called this company on Sunday afternoon with a drain problem and made an appt for Monday between 1-3pm. Got a call at 12:10 that they could come home. I wasn't there. So, I waited from 1-3;30 and got a text at 3:29pm that they were en route. Another text at 3:36. I called at 3:50 and was told he was in my driveway. Waited til 4:30 to call again and was told that he had come and nobody answered the door. I'm sitting 10 feet from the door with the door cracked. Nobody was here. He lied or never got here. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!!!

I had a majorly soggy yard. The plumber I called refused to do the work saying it was a plumbing issue. Several plumbers refused the work says it was a landscape issue. No one wanted to help. When I contacted Discount Plumbing they were happy to send someone out to evaluate the issue. Well, it because a large plumbing issue (too bad first three plumbers you lost out on a big job!) and very expensive. Felix from Discount Plumbing was wonderful. He searched and searched until he diagnosed the issue. In the end it took about a week's work, two visits from the water company inspector and a backhoe to get the job done. Thanks to Frlix's tenacity and dedication to the job I now have a wonderfully dry yard! Thank you Felix and Discount Pmumbing.
