This guy is not legit and a scammer. Please go to https://www.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx and put his license which he has on his website as 6728156171. Contractor license is 8 digit not 10. This license does not exist. Also there is no business under Dick's Sprinkler repair. I just checked it. I am planning to report him to be investigated. He has no name on his website or anyplace. We do not know what his real name is. He does not have an address. He has a p.o.box. I am not sure but I believe you must have an address and P.O box is not allowed. I will be reporting him to the state as he need to be stopped. He can not give people license that can not be validated. His truck does not have his license info which by law must. He comes in today to the job and spend 15min talking about himself and tells me he is a life coach, he teaches in university, he goes on about the books he has read. He tells me his van has purple color because he read a book and he goes on and on. Here I am trying to get him to focus on Irrigation. I am sure in 15 extra minute, he would have said he went to Stanford. Finally he gets to the irrigation and he is clueless, he says he does not know how the control system work. Oh BTW, he said he started irrigation recently and he used to be a stone carver. Then he says, do you want me to fix it, I said ofcourse, he said it cost $275 cash. I said what do you charge per hour? He started to yell and scream and say it does not matter how long it takes and that is what I charge and I am leaving. I was in a jam so I said ok fix it, he burst out and he said to me, you want to negotiate everything with everyone and I am not fixing it. I found him thru yelp for my Father who was in need of a repair person to fix a leaking sprinkler valve. My Dad called and was told that they'd be there at 6pm on Friday to fix it. Texted him the address, Friday at 6pm comes and no show. My Dad calls him and he said that he was really busy and he'll be there Monday at 6pm. My Dad calls Monday morning to confirm and he was told again, I am busy, I'll be there Tuesday between 4-6pm. Well, it's Tuesday, at 7pm, and again a no show. No call, no show, every time. I get that people may be busy but don't tell a customer you are going to show up and don't, and not even bother to call. This dude is a flake. Just know if you go with him, hopefully it's not an emergency because there's a good chance he will not show up.

Geraldo came over to fix a sprinkler problem at our new home. He was very knowledgable, and took the time to explain the details of our sprinkler system and gardening tips for all the plants around our house.

Needed a diagnosis for sprinkler valve system not shutting off after the irrigation controller turned it off. Called Gerardo who was very responsive - scheduled a time right away. He did not seem to figure out what the problem was and concluded that the valves needed replacement. He had parts and tools ready to replace them. Overall was good but I found him to be a little bit on the expensive side (400$ for replacing 2 valves - less than 1 hr of work).

update: Please read my story and other 1 star reviews to get a full picture of the business. Note that the brand has recently switch hands as mentioned by Sarah and others. Please read the good reviews with a grain of salt and be prepare that the quality is no longer the same.

At the moment, I even doubt whether this business is still legit. My issue was eventually fixed today. It turns out the issue was due to broken valves and pipes and has nothing to do with the backflow device. It all makes much sense to me now, because Gerardo was on the completely wrong direction. I am not an expert on this matter but it takes by Darrick from Sprinkler Pro Repair And Install Irrigation minutes to identify the issue and less than two hours for the repair. I was shocked by the amount of incompetence and unprofessionalism. All in all, there are many good sprinkler repair services in the Bay Area. Please do not waste your time and money here.

Update: Gerardo's response to my post shows that he has NO CLUE what job this was. He's merely making stuff up to deflect from my review. I stand by everything I said about him. And know this--I paid Gerardo IN FULL. I asked him to leave when it became clear that there was no point in dealing with him anymore. No one should have to deal with such abuse from a contractor. This guy is off his rocker.

Gerardo is, well, amazing. Super responsive, easy to work with, one of the nicest people I have ever hired to do work for me. Fixed my broken system on first visit. Prices were more than fair and quality of work was excellent. Had to dig up some of my lawn to fix the break, and after he was done you would never know the lawn was disrupted. Highly recommend. Wish all my experiences with contractors was this pleasant and smooth. Well done.

Dick's Sprinkler Repair service was perfect for resolving a leaking sprinkler zone valve. I contacted him via Yelp and he responded the next morning saying he could be out later that day. He arrived in the afternoon in a fully equipped clean service vehicle. He had the valve replaced in less than an hour. Very pleased with his service and professionalism. If you have sprinkler issues, go with Dick's Sprinkler Repair. I had tried 2 other contractors: one never responded and the other said this job was too small.

Not only is Gerardo the most reliable, trustworthy and knowledgeable person when it comes to irrigation but his work is amazing. It is hard to find people like him out there that takes pride in his work but also does it the right way. It was a pleasure working with him and I highly recommend hiring him for any service.
