My tankless water heater wasn't providing hot water on 12/23/22. It was in the afternoon going into the Christmas weekend. I spoke to Mike who was very friendly and he came by and flushed my system or descaled it and I had hot water again. The charge was $475 which I felt was high but I wanted to get this done since I likely wouldn't be able to get anyone out until after the holiday weekend and I didn't own a kit to do it myself. Two weeks later, the water wasn't getting hot again so Mike came back out. He said I'd need a new unit and quoted me $4,000 for the same exact unit I had, $5,600 for the same brand but an upgraded model or $6,000 for a tank with a pump in a shed. While they are friendly, I would check the pricing they quote. I ended up purchasing the same brand unit but upgraded model from what I had for $1,269 and installed it myself in under an hour. To charge over $4,000 in labor for a really easy swap is not cool at all or in good faith. Then looking online for average costs to descale a tankless water heater, I was seeing $300 on the high end. Nice folks but their prices don't line up with the work performed.

I live in Lakewood, CA. Years ago I called Schilling to repair my AC unit. It was cooling OK, but the compressor was making a strange noise. The repairman determined a relay was bad and proceeded to replace the relay. It turned out the repairman was new and miswired the relay. His coworker repairman were watching him work. When he turn on power to the compressor a loud buzzing started. The coworkers yelled for the repairman to turn off power, but he refused and continued to troubleshoot. After 10 seconds the buzzing stopped. The coworkers left quietly, knowing he just burned out the compressor motor. I called George and told him what happened. After days of back and forth calls George said the compressor just happened to die at that moment and he wouldn't take responsibility. I was stuck without AC until I paid $7000 to replace the system by a reputable service company. I can understand a new repairman making a mistake, but it is George's responsibility to cover the cost's of his employees' mistakes. I am a very dissatisfied customer and want other customers looking for AC service to use caution when selecting a service company.
