The worst experience with any in home service. These guys don't know what an appointment means. Cancellation after cancellation. Your time is not as important as theirs and if the job is too complicated they'll just make up excuses to avoid fixing it.
Barrett S.Run!!!!!!!! Run as fast as you can from this company! Their record keeping is horrible! I used these guys to replace a wall heater in my home 2 years ago. The tech Jordan came out to diagnose and advised it would be best to replace it rather than repair it. Paid him $150 cash. And got an estimate. Decided to use them to replace the heater. 3 weeks after going to their office to pay a deposit of 1/2 the total bill. I had to call to get on the schedule! 2 days later I was on schedule. Office gal said we'll be their at 8am. I took the day off to let them have access. They didnt show up till 10am! They got old unit out and installed new unit but didnt hook it up. Told the guys If you want to come early tomorrow it would be fine. As I work construction and am usually on the job by 7am. Again The next day 10 am they showed up. They hooked up power and gas and tried to fire it up and it didnt work. I overheard the conversation between the tech and the office gal and she was all over him about this particular job should have only taken 1 day and to hurry up and get it done!Spencer the owner showed up to show his tech how to fix a brand new out of the box heater! Next thing you know they are pounding out a preformed knock out for a vent on the back side with a screwdriver! Even after he was told to cut it out with a sawzall or grinder! The grate they put on this hole is shoddy. Then it comes time to pay the balance, which I asked about paying when I paid the deposit, they send an invoice after I requested it. And I promptly paid. Then 2 months later I get another invoice for $150! They claimed I hadn't paid the initial inspection. At the time I had the invoice carbon copy. And showed that I had paid. Office gal found what she missed hand written on the carbon copy stating it was paid! Here we are 2 years later and wouldn't you know hear comes a bill in the mail for $150! All I can say is good luck trying to charge me for a bill I've already paid! This company is a bunch of hacks!
I knew almost immediately after having met Spencer that this was the team for me. Jum confirmed that. They handled the project I needed to have done to keep my house in good working order for those that live here excellently. This was after doing my own due diligent research. I chose Desert Air. I would do it again. The office helped me find appropriate and reasonable finances and the guys worked hard to make sure that not only did the equipment work but that it also LOOKED GOOD. They succeeded.
Kevin R.Called Saturday morning 8am, they were at the house at 1pm. Fixed the problem in less than an hour and was on his way. Other places were quoting days out.
I called and spoke with Leslie @ Desert Air. I told her the blue UV light on my furnace installed Air Scrubber was not illuminated & it was still under warranty. She promptly took some info from me & contacted their distributor of this Air Scrubber. She called me the next day & told me they had the UV Light/filter for my Air Scrubber. She asked if they could come out today & replace it. Within 1 hour service tech was here & removed & replaced it. Leslie was very professional & accommodating while being very hospitable while communicating with her. Thank you Leslie & Desert Air for your promptness & professionalism. L. Hale

I had a lot of issues with my heater this year and the team was very responsive, helpful, and fair. They even provided space heaters for my tenant when the heater was a longer fix time and it was cold in the home, and they were reasonable with charges and billing.
Everyone in the office who I've talked to is very kind and great to work with. Desert Air is now officially my go-to for all heating issues, updates and fixes... thank you!
We love Desert Air and everyone who works for them. They were extremely efficient, easy to work with and do excellent work. We had a Heat Pump put in, all new plumbing and some additional duct work. Their pricing was competitive and they showed up when they said they would. Will definitely use them in the future.
Shelley C.On January 18th, the Friday before the three day holiday, our furnace quit. We had called NV Energy over to relight the gas furnace several days before, and although he got the furnace to work, he wasn't sure how long it would last. It lasted three days! We called Desert Air and within an hour, Butch, a technician came over to see what he could do to repair the furnace. After much work and attempts, he realized that the furnace was too old to be repaired. He then let us know that a new furnace was being readied and that it would arrive soon. Very shortly two more technicians, Thomas and Andreas were there. All three worked quickly to remove the old heater and install the new one, with all of its duct work, etc. All three technicians were especially friendly, courteous, professional and diligent. We couldn't have asked for any better technicians. We are certainly very happy with the work, professionalism and friendly demeanor of Butch, Thomas and Andreas. As good as it gets!!
They don't even deserve one star. These people were hired to inspect my heating system and swamp cooler in late October. The bill from them was gigantic and they quoted $100/each for pads. (you can by them for $12 at Home Depot-100% markup?) They mentioned nothing about shutting the system down for the winter, draining the lines, etc. The first cold snap, lines burst in the ceiling and flooded the house. When we called them to ask why they didn't mention this, they said ""Maybe we should put that on our list of recommendations"". No offer to lower the bill or make amends. Terrible service and no business ethic.
My advice is to simply go elsewhere. Yes they came out quickly, but they charge you for simply having a Truck with which they do business. After researching all the parts, and I mean ALL since they really couldn't figure out what was wrong they added an additional 30% to the normal retail. We know you buy at ""cost"" so you already have free profit there. The quote was less than half of what it ended up costing and took 2 days as they didn't think ahead as to the ""chain of components that fail together"". Just awful. And hey guys... its not like anyone cant register with Johnstone and check the prices.... Crooks... NEVER again.. and I own several properties in the Reno area. Nice job... made the customer pay a lot once instead of 10 times that over a lifetime. #mybusinessgivesbetterservice.....
