DeHart performed both heating/air maintenance and insulation installation at my home and I am very pleased. Will continue to use them for regular maintenance and repair. Also, it's 105 degrees outside right now and the new insulation is working WONDERFULLY!

After shopping around on Yelp...I called two other plumbers and found a big difference in service fees! I just needed a professional opinion on my water heater, so another company was $50 more and another company couldn't even come out for four days!

Lucking I found DeHarts on Yelp and when I called, they scheduled me right away and were still the best price I could find. Nevertheless, I should have started with DeHarts!

Sometimes I think the smaller companies will be more reasonable...but apparently not in this case!

Thanks YELP and DEHART!

I have used their services twice. Once for a plumbing issue, a leak by the water meter beneath my driveway. I am very pleased with how professional everyone is at DeHart....from my phone call to the actual repair. Because of this I signed on for their heating and air conditioning maintenance contract. Once again, I am very pleased and feel I am in good hands

They came on the hottest day of the summer to help fix my A/C. I signed up for their maintenance program and have only had great service.

After an absurd and incorrect diagnosis from West Coast Air in Turlock (read my review here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/west-coast-heating-and-air-conditioning-turlock-2 ) we called DeHart to fix our air conditioner.

West Coast did not bother checking the evaporator unit in the garage, but instead tried to sell us a $1500 condenser for several thousand dollars to replace ours (which DeHart proved was in good working order).

DeHart first checked the condenser and declared it to be working fine. They then checked the evaporator in the garage which West Coast was either too lazy, incompetent, or dishonest (maybe all three) to bother checking. DeHart found the evaporator to be leaking refrigerant. They then got warranty from the manufacturer for us, (West Coast claimed no warranty was available) which covered the $2000 evaporator.

The bid from West Coast to fix what was not broken: $4600!
The bill from DeHart for doing the job right: $750!
Finding an honest contractor: Priceless!!

Thank you, DeHart, for a job done honestly and well done.

We have given this business many chances/tries. We once lived in a Rental home and their staff failed to cover any of our personal furniture, computer, etc. Basically careless disregard, with no professionialism.
The second time was with a simple phone call where one, they did not call us back to make an appointment Two failed to show up for the appointment even after calling and asking why they were a no-show. Thirdly, we had a copper pipe break in our house, and they had a really poor solution to a small problem, which was re-piping the entire home which would have cost us in the thousands. We hired a a leak specialist and two hired someone who would get the job done with honesty and straight forward-fix-the-real-problem attitude from a Thorsens, who was a huge pleasure to work with. They were on time, called us even to ask if they could come over sooner.
DeHart needs to examine their approach to Modesto customer service. We really feel like they were one of those scams from 20/20 you see and read about. Never again will I call on DeHart plumbing heating and air. Oh, and by the way, Thorsens is batting 1000. In my book.
DeHart is nothing more then a excessive dishonesty gouging the customer for unnecessary jobs. As they say, ""if it ain't broke don't fix it.""

We've had DeHart come out a few times now, dealing with an AC problem. Extremely professional every time they've come out. Could not be more pleased with their service. Jeff came out today and was awesome.

With a heat wave approaching we needed to repair or replace the air conditioner in our Ripon rental home. The rep that came out to provide the bids was polite and knowledgeable. After we were given the options they made recommendations which were sound and easy to understand-unlike with some other bids we had received. The pricing was competitive and the work was professional.

The technicians that performed the work were clean cut and professional as well. They were thorough and cleaned up after the job was done. It's unusual to come across a contractor with these values. We were very glad to have had them do our work and would give them our highest recommendations.

Dishonest, incompetent, and deceitful.

I ordered an HVAC inspection from DeHart when buying an investment property recently. It said everything was fine and in working order. Clean bill of health. So I buy the property.

A couple of months later, A/C goes out. Tenant, who used to work as an HVAC tech, says it looks corroded and completely dead. I call DeHart, ask what gives? How could they have had such a mis-diagnosis just 3 months earlier? They said, ""There's nothing really I can tell you by phone, but I'll send someone out to take a look at it and get back to you.""

A couple weeks later, I get an invoice for $75 for inspection that I never authorized. Guess what else? Results state ""Compressor & CFM very noisy. Recommend replacing unit due to condition & age."" Completely different than 3 mos ago, when everything looked great.

I told them I didn't authorize a $75 charge, it was never disclosed, they were going out to resolve a concern about incompetent work in the first place. Nothing happens, until two months later a collections notice for their unauthorized $75 invoice. So I have to spend an hour collecting documentation, disputing everything in writing, and telling them to back down or I go to the state Contractors License Board for fraud.

BTW, I also had a $5,000 expense to replace the HVAC unit on my new purchase, even though DeHart had said everything was great. That work was done by a real, and trustworthy HVAC company. Which meant, not DeHart.
