Company Overview

I provide placement, support, and repair of hot water systems, fixtures, toilets, purifiers, gas seismic safety valves, tankless water heaters, and also carry out drain maintenance, whirlpool tub service, sewer repair, gas piping, and water line fixing and placement. My aim to deliver a uniformly high level of support, rooted in careful analysis of concerns and open dialogue, along with meticulous implementation of the needed services.

I earned my license at the suggestion of my initial boss, Bright Winn in the Bay Area, for whom I was employed for more than a decade. Subsequently worked for eight years with the owner of Lipsey/Mill Valley Plumbing, while serving a expanding client base as well.

The closure of that business in 2000 motivated me to run Daystar Plumbing as my primary focus, continuing service in Marin County, SF, and San Mateo County as I had with my former employer, and to maintain service agreements with Kohler, Bosch/AquaStar, and various brands.

I appreciate to these two individuals for the invaluable experience and wisdom I learned from their mentorship.

I deployed my fully-stocked Daystar van to serve the clients of Mike, seamlessly swapping branding signs for the two businesses as required.

I continue to have very friendly terms with both of them, and former fellow employees of the businesses.

My journey in plumbing started doing plumbing for a neighbor, Bright Winn, in the early 1980s after coming back to the Bay Area from teaching English in Japan for two and a half.

I care about the environment, and have made numerous visits with a group to speak to Congress, the executive branch and global institutions regarding sustainable forestry and the natural world at my personal cost.

I have been actively involved in environmental advocacy, helping to defeat harmful projects, and am currently participating in Pacificans for Sustainable Development, the Pacifica Climate Committee, & the city council-appointed ""Climate Action Task Force"".

I enjoy reading ""Scientific American magazine"", ""Scientific American Mind"", ""Science News magazine"", and ""the publication Parabola"" from start to finish with each release.

I have known Timothy for the last ten years as a top notch plumber as well as an excellent craftsman and fine human being. Timothy has done many different jobs on my home such as sink work to toilet seal replacement, water heater replacement and outdoor pipe extension with spigot.
You will not find a more honest and trustworthy person with the highest knowledge of his craft.

As with many plumbing issues there is not time to plan for service in advance. When I called Timothy was able to understand the issue, provide me with options, and provide me with a quote for repairs later the same day. Timothy was on time, clean, quick, and showed me how and why there were issues I am very pleased with the repairs and service.

Timothy does incredibly clean, beautiful work and gives realistic quotes on cost and time. He's one of the most straightforward contractors we've had. His work entailed capping a gas pipe, removing an outdoor faucet on our deck and replacing it with one on the house, and a fix for a fitting from meter-to-house (that PG&E notified us about earlier). He did this all in less than a day and for the amount quoted, which was absolutely reasonable.

Daystar Plumbing was great. Timothy came out right away and helped me problem solve our issue - he had parts on hand and was able to resolve the problem in a short time. Prices are reasonable, too. Wouldn't hesitate to call again.

Daystar Plumbing did a great job. Tim was right on top of things, clearly
explaining what the problem was and how he would fix it. A part had gone out on our water heater and we had zero hot water. Anyway, he got the part, installed it and we have not had any problems since. Tim is very personable and efficient and I highly recommend him.

Timothy did an awesome job replacing my garbage disposal. He explain what he was doing. He also fixed my master bedroom bathroom sink and check all the toilets in the house for leaks.

Timothy is very thorough in his work. He is honest and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend Timothy at Daystar!

Timothy was awesome. I had an after-hours sorta-emergency before a long weekend---he called right back and did a great job replacing my main water valve. He was up-front, clear, honest, prompt, affordable, friendly, experienced and professional. Top quality work. Highly recommended.

Wow!!! Timothy is amazing! I am a new homeowner and I called him because I couldn't light my water heater. He picked up while vacationing in Maui and walked me through the steps to get my water heater lit. My family is forever grateful for his experience and compassion!! Great plumber and amazing person!!!

Tim was very helpful in pointing out the problem to me and recommending a larger crew plumbing company and gave me some great suggestions on what to ask for. He was patient and took the time to explain the problems to me. Would definitely recommend.

I highly recommend Tim Cowan of DayStar plumbing. Very knowledgable, professional - he did not try to cut corners......I cannot tell you how reasonable priced he is. We had a leak under our kitchen sink....found out that the dishwasher was backed up with goop too. He replaced the airgap on the garbage disposal with a copper one and gave us a new hose also. He replaced the leaky chrome extension piece at the drain. and snaked the disposal...
He is very fair and honest......what plumber does that anymore !!!! He is local in Pacifica - his card even includes his address, and business license. So happy I found him. !!!!
