To be clear, Mr. Dawson is a great plumber. Over the past ten or so years, Mr. Dawson handled many jobs around our rental townhouse. He fixed toilets, faucets, and more. During a repair several months ago, he noticed that a new hot water heater was installed. He mentioned he was bothered that he didn't get that job. The job had been done by the company that had installed the previous one, another small business. I can understand his annoyance at not getting that job. Today, when I contacted Mr. Dawson today to ask if he would please come over and repair several leaking faucets, he said no. Since he didn't get the water heater job, he was no longer willing to take business from us. So, a reliable plumber became unreliable. And a working relationship of many years ended. Obviously, that is his choice. Other reviews note he can be cranky which is true. He can also be great. The last appointment ended with him buying a box of Girl Scout cookies from my daughter. But, allowing a working relationship to end due to one glitch? Not so cool. So, in my take, he moves from providing 4 and 5-star service down to 2.

I just called to inquire about getting some small jobs done. He said something like ""I don't want to do them"" and then the line went blank. I called back thinking a connection had been lost. He said ""nope. I don't want to do the work."" I can understand that he wants bigger paying jobs but I don't see why he has to be rude about it hanging up on potential customers. He could have said something about not taking small jobs at this time, you should try someone else. So if you are in the mood to deal with a cranky dude, call him pronto!

Great,. He showed up on time and was very professional. He alleviated the backup in the kitchen sink, by snaking the line under the sink and replacing the garbage disposal, which was not working. Everything was fixed right the first time. It is working well.

Had a bad gas leak under the house they came and fixed it 2 days earlier than what they said which was fantastic and only charged me $63.50 I would recommend them to everyone

Finding a plumber you can trust, who will do it right, and who has reasonable rates isn't easy but Dawson's fits the bill. He's a straight talker and honest as can be. Mr. Dawson knows what he's doing and has fixed problems that have popped up unexpectedly (possessed toilets) and fixed shoddy work done by those who came before him. We most recently had flooring work done and called him to remove and reinstall the fixtures so that we will have piece of mind that they are installed just right.

The technician who installed both of my toilets was extremely kind, helpful and willing to field any questions about the process. They were willing to do a small job like installing toilets (which was tough to find) and were available extremely quickly. Everything about the experience was great and the price was extremely fair. I will definitely use Dawson's Plumbing again in the future.

The floor drain in our laundry room clogged up recently, so I called around for estimates and received quotes of up to $300.00 to do the job. Luckily, several of my neighbors had used Mr. Dawson for various plumbing jobs and were pleased with his work and prices so I contacted him to do the job. He called before he got to the house, he arrived on time, did the job professionally, and cleaned up before he left. I could not ask for anything better; however, it did get better when he told me the price of the job. His price was quite a bit less than half of the highest estimate I received. I highly recommend Mr. Dawson.

Mr. Dawson is an excellent plumber. His prices are fair, the work is solid, he comes when he says he will, and calls before hand. Just remember that if he does small plumbing jobs for you to call him first if you need a hot water heater replaced.

I found my GO TO PLUMBER! Dawson is efficient, knowledgeable and competent. He does it right the first time and is as honest as you can get. Price is very reasonable and most importantly, he does a TOP NOTCH job the first time around. Being a realtor, I have experienced many good plumbers but Dawson is hands down, THE BEST!!

I spent hours going thru online plumbing companies and they were either closed at 5:00 PM or would not give me a ballpark estimate over the phone. I called Home Depot and they had a plumbing company call me, but they wanted to sell me a new water heater; I told them it is a new water heater and I just needed elements replaced. They said they don't do that. I just needed two heating elements replaced in my water heater; how difficult can this be. I had the new elements ready to install. I was looking thru the Burke Conservancy Newsletter and happened upon the page for household needs and found Dawson's Plumbing. It was about 6:00 PM. I called, Mr. Dawson answered. I asked him for an estimate he said $110 per hour then $30 for every 15 minutes after. I asked about how long he thought it would take he said with no problems an hour at most 1.5 hours. He said he would call before he came. He called, arrived on time and had my elements replaced in no time and didn't even have to drain the water heater. I was impressed. I am very pleased with Dawson's Plumbing and will not hesitate to use him again. I found him pleasant, friendly, and funny. Since I couldn't get any estimates over the phone I don't know how his rates compare, but $110 seemed reasonable for the job at hand..
