David Gray established the business in 1983 out of the back of a Plymouth Duster sedan (the Duster was a vehicle, not a utility vehicle). Initial phone calls were received by sales staff at his father-in-law's furniture store. The company developed to the point where a proper office with a team was required.

The firm is truly a family-run operation. At various times, David's spouse, dad, father-in-law, brother-in-law, child, daughter(s), and nieces have all contributed to the company. David's child and sibling-in-law are currently engaged in running the firm with him and are joint owners.

The company has expanded from that Plymouth Duster to over thirty-five service teams and over 70 employees. David Gray established David Gray Plumbing, Inc. in 1980. The company has been offering top-notch service and repair in Jacksonville, FL ever since. The company staffs the top water experts and certified HVAC specialists in Jacksonville.

July 17, 2024 , emergency repair of tub/shower faucet cartridge cost $433.00 for less than one hour work start to finish. David Gray's Plumbing's website read that if services were performed by July 21, 2024 the labor cost would be $69.00 per hour. The technician stated he would email a detailed invoice. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for a detailed invoice regarding the costs for travel, parts(markup), labor, and taxes. Other than the replacement of the tub/shower faucet cartridge, all I've experienced from David Gray Plumbing is corrupt/unfair business practices and extreme price gouging. I believe in a honest pay for honest work. All businesses are in business to make money but some business models prefer cheating the consumers. It's all about the """"Bottom Line."""" Business integrity is an afterthought.

We called out David Gray Plumbing to fix a leaking water pipe in our yard. For context, the pipe had already been fixed, but not properly, and was seeping water at the seam of the fix. The pipe was easy to access as we had fortunately left it exposed to check the repair. This was a quick and easy job for a plumber, and would cost them next to nothing in supplies and maybe half an hour of labor. They did come out the next day, which was good. Diagnostics took about a minute because we had told them on the phone what and where the problem was and the pipe was already exposed. But then they told us they would charge us $311 to fix the leak. We refused their service, astonished at such an extortionate price, although we still had to pay the $49 call out fee of course. Not sure if this firm overcharges on all jobs or just the small jobs. Maybe they thought we would pay no matter what because we wouldn't want to waste the call out fee. Sorry, but we weren't impressed, and we won't call this company again.

Terrible customer service. I called early this morning and was first told someone would be here before noon. Then I received a call back and they apologized and said, no it would have to be between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. today. I received a call at 3:12 p.m. and answered immediately but it was a bad connection. I called right back at 3:14 p.m. and was informed that because I didn't answer they went on to another call. This is unreal, it was 2 minutes and I did answer their call. I will never use them again and would suggest no one else do so either.

I agree with the reviews that say they do not stand by their work. I hired them several times to fix stopped up toilet and they would send out people who didn't seem to be very competent and charge me approx $100 and all they would do was use an arguer. Then in few months the toilet would be stopped up again and they would want me to pay them another $100 to use the auger again. When I called manager to complain and get them to come back out and fix toilet properly,I was amazed. He didn't seem to feel they had any obligation to stand by their prior work and said they would charge me to come back out. I question the experience and abilities of the men they send out to some callers. The owner who is licensed plumber is supposed to supervise their work but all he does is refuse to accept responsibility for their inability to fix problems as if it is just a way to make more money. Their goal doesn't seem to fix anything properly but to just repair it temporarily and you will have to keep calling them back and paying them once again to fix it temporarily. I will never hire this company again.

My hybrid water heater failed under warranty and a replacement was authorized by the manufacturer as long as I returned the defective unit to the place I purchased it, David Gray . I contacted them and they had an exact replacement in stock. I would just pay for installation. When they arrived I was told the install would cost $2,200. No new work was needed to install it. This was an exact match. It was draining the old one, cutting several PVC pipes, reconnecting, and filling it to test for leaks. Took less than an hour. They finally lowered the price to $1,500, still exorbitant for the work. I had no choice but to pay. I could only get the replacement from David Gray. They refused to deliver the replacement unless they installed it. David Gray took advantage of the situation to gouge me. I'll never use them again and no one else should. In their response to my written review, they asked I call their plumbing supervisor. She said that was a standard comment when they receive a complaint and she doesn't even know who writes the response. On a positive note, the technician on site was extremely professional and cordial.

Gave David Gray Plumbing two shots to do a decent job. First repair on shower pipe leak had to be redone and pay to replace drywall twice. Then the sink leak wasn't repaired properly and continued to leak causing so much damage to the drywall and cabinet that it is now an insurance issue. Almost 900 dollars worth of work totally not worth it.

On 7/31/24, Employee, Corey Carter provided good quality service in a few electrical kitchen repairs on the wall outlet and light fixtures to the roof. Corey was punctual and polite throughout the process and I also noticed that he integrated his knowledge skill sets and professionalism into his practice, effortlessly. I would recommend Corey and the company to my family and friends. Continue your phenomenal work ethic. F.V

We had an appointment on Thursday between 1 PM and 5 PM and no one showed up. I called the office at 5:30 to find out why the technician did not show up they told me they would have to get back to me. I waited for a phone call and didn't hear back. They called me the next day and told me that I never made an appointment and neither did my landlord. That was a lie. So she told me they could send somebody out on Saturday And I requested for them to come on Saturday morning because I had plans and I've already had to cancel other plans. So she put in the computer to please make sure that we are requested to come in the morning which did not happen. It is now 4:30 in the afternoon and still no show. This is not the way to do business or treat your customers. They texted me at 2:20 PM and said that a technician was on the way it is now 430 and no technician. I do not live two hours from Jacksonville. I'm not sure where the technician is or why he's not here but this is ridiculous. I have wasted my entire day off waiting around yet again for him to show.

They wanted $530 labor to instal 2 bath faucets which is $350 an hour labor. Paid them $49 for showing up even when I told them over the phone I wanted two bath faucets installed. Never recommend them or use them at those price gouging costs.
