David Gray established the company in 1983 from the back of a Plymouth Duster (the Duster was a car, not a truck). Initial phone calls were picked up by furniture salesmen at his father-in-law’s furniture store. The business developed to the point where a dedicated office with a staff was necessary.
The company is authentically a family-owned enterprise. At some point, David's wife, dad, in-law, brother, son, children, and niece have all worked to the business. David's child and sibling-in-law are now engaged in managing the firm with him and are co-owners.
The firm has expanded from that initial vehicle to in excess of thirty-five work crews and over 70 staff members. David Gray founded David Gray Plumbing, Inc. in 1980. The business has been offering top-notch service and plumbing in Jacksonville, FL since then. The business employs the finest plumbers and qualified HVAC specialists in Jacksonville.

July 17, 2024 , emergency repair of tub/shower faucet cartridge cost $433.00 for less than one hour work start to finish. David Gray's Plumbing's website read that if services were performed by July 21, 2024 the labor cost would be $69.00 per hour. The technician stated he would email a detailed invoice. Unfortunately, I'm still waiting for a detailed invoice regarding the costs for travel, parts(markup), labor, and taxes. Other than the replacement of the tub/shower faucet cartridge, all I've experienced from David Gray Plumbing is corrupt/unfair business practices and extreme price gouging. I believe in a honest pay for honest work. All businesses are in business to make money but some business models prefer cheating the consumers. It's all about the """"Bottom Line."""" Business integrity is an afterthought.

Showed up within the timeframe, found the problem within 10 minutes and fixed it within 45 minutes, explained any questions i had and made other helpful suggestions, happy with the job and price

Emergency call was handled within 5 hours. Pipe clog was cleared in 45 mins. Cost was $548. for 3/4 hour service call. We will never call again due to the exorbitant charge.

Had a toilet replaced, had leaking toilet repaired and a bathtub faucet repaired. Ken and Theodore were great, I definitely will ask for them if I need any other plumbing repaired. I recently moved to Florida and someone gave me the name of another plumbing company. They no showed for two days in a row. I called David Gray Plumbing after researching plumbing companies. So glad I did.

I agree with the reviews about the pricing and labor estimates. I will start and say that I called and they were the within the hour It was one of the days that I had other things to do and the job of replacing the toilet flange wasn't going to happen. I was told it was going to take a few hours (the old toilet was completely removed and the area was cleared for him to cut off the top of the flange and chip away the inside of the flange. Took a little less than an hour and it was almost $500 for flange replacement and installing the new toilet to the flange. I wasn't home and i had my Dad oversee this task. The $75 service fee I thought was applied to the job, but per the technician, it was not. I can say that unless I'm in a pinch, I do not plan to use David Gray services as I feel ripped off by expectations set, and based on some of these reviews there is a similar trend in our customer experience. In all fairness, if you need someone they're quick and completed the job quickly I haven't had any issues since with the toilet rocking and I guess that is credited to their experience. However, they need to work on their pricing integrity.

This is the second time I've used David Gray Plumbing & will definitely use them again. Professional & friendly service from the scheduler to the plumber. When I called to schedule an appointment I received one the next day for 3 different plumbing issues I had. One guy came to handle them all & did a great job.

We called to get an estimate on having a broken line replaced in our office. They came out and gave us an estimate. Two weeks later we get an invoice for $100.00. I called and was told """"we have to listen to the phone recording"""". I had to call back since no one got back to me. Needless to say we were given a credit. Not happy. Will not use David Gray Plumbing. When calling make sure you let them know you need an estimate or you will be charged for a service call.

I called for two separate issues. One was a clogged tub. the other was for low water pressure and a sewage smell in the shower. The customer service representative told me that if i made both appointments at one time I would receive a discount for the second call at $88. The day of the appointment they forgot to set the appointment. I had to call. One plumber came last minute and unclogged the tub made a hole in the ceiling to check the pipe and never resealed the hole. I still have a smell and a hole in my ceiling. I was charged 108 minus the 10 dollar coupon for a total of 98 dollars. The second plumber came the next day to change the cartridge for the low water pressure in my bathtub. The cartridge cost $96 dollars but the plumber said he was not aware of the $88 discount for the service call. He said someone from the office would call. I never received a call within the week so i called. The billing office charged me 165 for the service call that was done within 45 minutes and $96 dollars for the cartridge. $359 dollar total. What happened to the $88 dollar discount. Dishonesty is not a good policy. I will never use David Gray Plumbers. The billing people ignored me when asked for an explanation and did not care when i told them i would not use their services again.

Please think twice before calling david gray plumbing. I have used bill fenwick before; they stand behind their warranty. David gray installed bidet in 2 of my restrooms and a pressure valve 6 months ago. All the parts were purchased from them. Now, 1 of the restroom pressure valve is dripping water. When i called cc, they said parts are warranted for 1 year and labor is not. First they said we did not install the part; spoke to the supervisor and he said """"yes, part is covered under warranty, which i see that david gray had installed"""" Now, comes the ironic part of the situation. They say part is covered under warranty which costs $20 at homedepot/lowes (i paid approx $50 to DG) but labor to install new part is not. I paid for the labor 6 months ago; if your part cant handle the water pressure, why should i be penalized for it. Where is the warranty? DG is cheating everyone. Any work goes good everybody is happy and good reviews. Job goes bad; customer pays for it. THINK BEFORE USING THEM: Its time for me to call a real plumbing company Thanks

My AC was not blowing cold air. Technician comes out and says it is from the compressor running backwards and resets the unit. AC unit has the same issue the next day. Toby the Thief calls saying it will cost $1,800 in labor costs to repair the AC unit. I call another company to come out and they find out that the drain line is clogged. AC unit has run perfectly after it was unclogged. David Gray has become a Fraudulent company looking to steal money from customers. You do NOT get what you paid for with this company (expensive).
