Kathy M.This company charges 4x what other plumbing companies do and they do not do thorough assessments of the problems either. My impression is that they are there to upsale work. Am glad we got a second opinion on a job this week and didn't let them separate us from our money.
Sara A.Great company! Dauenhauer came out today, and the two plumbers gave me a wonderful new faucet for the front. They affixed it with bolts, and I'm sure it will work. I can't wait to water my thirsty trees, bushes, and plants.
Alejandro C.I have a repair coming up Monday July 26, 2021. After reading some posts I am concerned that almost all negative posts they can't find the service call. My repair is through homeserve as well. I will let everyone know how it goes. I have a podcast coming up about heating and cooling services so I am ready to see how it goes. Rating will be adjusted based on experience.
Tony W.Well I have insurance through home serve to replace the gas water heater that's 26 years old and finally went out today I noticed water running behind it so I shut the water off and turn the pilot off called Dauenhauer plumbing because that's who I always use when I have a claim on that insurance. when I spoke to the plumbing company I told her I was going out of town in two days and she said probably just be best to wait until I get back home from vacation not acceptable bye-bye Dauenhauer Plumbing, your website indicates that you can take care of these jobs quickly I called back and the guy told me Saturday would be the earliest day today is Wednesday not acceptable!
Will W.Good experience getting a gas line run. Timely and professional, and fair price. Would use them again.
They installed HVAC at my mother-in-laws almost a year ago. We have already had to do three different repairs due to shoddy work by the installers and still do not have the inspection sticker due to Daunhauer's incompetence and lack of communication.
I had them replace my water line outside that burst over the holidays. While repairing the destroyed my irrigation line in 2 areas. I paid for the irrigation repair myself & ask them to level my soil so I could replant turf seed. I had an appointment for 3/4/21 and had a no show. I called the office and inquired, I was told I would be the 1st service on the morning of 5/21. Crew didn't show up until 2pm. My soil wasn't compacted to be level with the rest of my yard. Crew refused to do any further work. My yard looks like an elephant has been buried in it. I called in to get front desk who could not get a manager on the line. Basically they didn't care about service once they collect repair money from my insurance.
They did a repair of our outside water line. The repair was covered by Home Serve at a cost of $2,400. Dauenhauer's repair crew did $1'750 damage to our irrigation system durinthe repair and Dauenhauer would not cover the cost of the repair. I certainly would not recommend a company that finds that level of accountability acceptable.
Needed someone to fix a tiny gas leak found almost by accident. Utility had been shut off to be safe.
First estimate from a different company (with way too much advertising) gave enormous estimates, $1700 (one leak fix), $2500 (two leak fix), and $3800 (entire piping replacement, not including repairing the ceiling that would have to be ripped out).
Had gas plumbing fixed by Dauenhauer. They have a flat rate for weekend or evening work $95, and $150 per hour per tech plus parts ""in case we need an extra set of eyes"", as I was warned before the plumber got here. I made sure he knew that if it started to take a long time I'd send them away as it was getting late.
Did not have one part so had to drive back to ""store"" and came back with second guy he hadn't mentioned. They did the sensible cut-off of pipes we don't use, and isolated the leak as being from an ""elbow"" near the heater. Finished in 2.5 hours (in at 9PM, out at 11:30PM). The whole thing was $569. Probably there's someone out there who could do it more cheaply and without ""an extra pair of eyes"", but it's winter and the heat was out.
Main guy was courteous, explained as he went, figured out what to do very quickly. Second guy may have just helped everything go faster, not sure. Everyone else I'd called was booked out three weeks, (or booked out three days and gave me insanely high estimates listed above).
Always get another estimate--
Lori K.I may end up using them again, in full transparency. However, I was not super pleased with how this visit went down. I had water coming out of a pipe that links to my washer. The water also had food particles in it, leading us to believe the kitchen sink was involved.
Dauenhauer sent four different groups of technicians over the course of a week. The first technician did not have the equipment to snake the line more than 25 feet. He suggested that I just wait and see if it happens again, to see if it resolves itself. This visit did not cost any money, but I was kind of frustrated knowing that the problem would come right back. My first point of frustration was the lack of proper equipment at the ready.
It came back on Sunday morning, the next time I tried to wash clothes. I called them to schedule an appointment, as the first technician had assured me that they work on the weekend and can come out same day. This is my second point of frustration, the technicians do not seem to have the same perspective on scheduling as the schedulers. The soonest they could come out with the right equipment was Tuesday.
Tuesday morning, the technician showed up and I had to explain everything to him again, as if the first guy had never come out. He then worked for about two hours in the basement, and came back up to tell me that he thought it was the main line and that he could not complete the job due to a back injury. So he had the equipment, but he couldn't move it into the house. He said someone else with the right ability to use the equipment would come in about 45 minutes. He also mentioned that I did not have a clean out, So I had to go out to the yard and show him the clean out again.
Six hours later when I had a break in conference calls, I called the mainline again to see if someone was actually coming back out. They said that apparently the job had been reassigned twice, And that hopefully someone will be there soon. And the caveat is that if they had to come after 8 PM but I would have to pay for an after hours visit, even though the reason it's after hours is because of the their fault.
Third group showed up and of course they had no idea anything about what happened with the previous two visits. So I try to get them up to speed the best I could, but I'll be honest I have no idea what the other tech was doing for two hours in the basement, as I was working the whole time. They were also here for two hours, and I was working the entire time and often just started talking to me while I was on conference calls without understanding that I needed a minute to tell the person on the other line to pause and put them on hold. They ended up having to remove the toilet on the first floor, and even though they ""cleaned up"" there was sewage remains everywhere. They were not able to solve the problem, so they needed a fourth group to come out, which of course they couldn't come until the next day. It took them about 30 minutes to get that scheduled, whomever they were talking to on dispatch was not being super respectful of our time.
The fourth group couldn't come until 2 PM the next day (note: this is now day 4 of no water for me), And I was on a conference call when they tried to call me to ""confirm I still needed the service"". They pulled into my driveway, and then I actually saw them leaving while I was on my conference call. I had to immediately jump off and call them back to ensure they didn't leave, as the guy wasn't sure if I still needed them to come. Why would you cancel an appointment just because someone doesn't pick up their phone? Especially during work hours. As with the former group, He had no background on what any of the previous workers had done, And I had to miss a couple work calls to get him up to speed. He used high-pressure water to clean out the main line, and that seemed to do the trick.
$650 later, I just feel like this could've been done more efficiently and the technicians could be on the same page with the schedulers. They're also could be some education on how people work from home, or work in general. A visit should never be canceled just because someone doesn't pick up their phone, they are likely on the other line or on a conference call.
