In March 1958, Raymond C. Dauenhauer Sr. launched Dauenhauer Plumbing, serving the Louisville, Kentucky community with exceptional plumbing services. Ray Dauenhauer Jr. became part of the business in 1964, leading to the establishment of the name Dauenhauer and Son Plumbing and Piping, Inc. Today, Chris LeBoeuf locally owns and operates the company in both Louisville and Lexington, Kentucky. Called 3 times and waited 3 weeks for a response but got none. Technician arrived without pipe cutters, sandpaper or a rag. Tried to solder (unsuccessfully) with water in the line. Left to get proper tools. Valve he used was dirty and he installed it upside down. This one hour job took over 4 hours.

Companies and those they employ need to remember that they represent their business at all times. I was run off the road by a Dauenhauer truck towing a skid steer on a trailer while merging onto eastbound 264 from Westport Rd on October 1 @ 4 in the afternoon. Not ok.

Working for the largest employer in the state of Kentucky, you can be certain I will share this story about Dauenhauer Plumbing with all those who will listen.

I've had the longest three weeks of my life trying to receive proper service. Lack of ownership and communication to say the least. Here's my timeline

Tuesday August 27 - signed up for membership and replaced capacitor
Wednesday August 28th - still not working - was told we needed a new unit because it was 18 years old. $16,500 later..
Thursday - August 29th install day
Friday August 30 - called back for the noise coming from the unit - sounds like something is rattling. Really loud compared to our last unit. Neighbor isn't happy. Couldn't do anything but would schedule is for Tuesday when they have the part
Monday sept 2- first email notice from our thermostat citing ""urgent pressure issue - ""lock out for 4 hours""
Tuesday sept 3 - showed them the email. Repair guys cut back drywall and replaced a line that they said caused the loud vibration.
Wednesday Sept 4 - still really loud. Can hear it from inside my house (and got a second email). Said the pressure issue was the something on the coil that was staying open so pressure wasn't building properly. Coming back tomorrow to fix. STILL REALLY LOUD UNIT. Also was a 12-2 window. Someone called me at 12:20 and stated might be a little late but definitely on for today. Showed up a little after 5. Couldn't do anything and said they would come back tomorrow and replace a valve that isn't closing right on the inside unit. I left a message for customer relations for the first time.
Thursday Sept 5 - no one showed up. I called customer relations 8 times over the day and left 3 voicemails
Friday Sept 6 - called again 4 times. HVAC manager called and left a voicemail. Showed up at the house with a lead tech. Said they would replace outside unit Monday.
Monday Sept 9 - new unit installed by lead tech. Added foam tape to ""help with the noise"". Tech was condescending and aggressive. Zero empathy. Rude when answering questions. I called customer relations and left a voicemail. 10:30 pm received another urgent lock out email. I left a message for the hvac manager.
Tuesday Sept 10 - I called customer relations and complained about lead tech and email. Husband talked to carrier the hvac brand and filed a complaint. Got advice from another company
Wednesday Sept 11- hvac manager called and came with another person over and checked the inside and outside unit. Coming back Friday for ""improvements"".

I have zero trust and confidence moving forward that the money I spent was well spent and well taken care of. Buyer beware. I should've done more research on other companies. I shouldn't have trusted a recognizable name. I have not been shown the kind of respect or support I would've thought $17,000 would've bought me. I've been met with placating, gaslighting, and down right ignored.

First, I can only speak on behalf of the HVAC section of this company. I must say, they took care of us, and we truly recognize and appreciate it! Our home is 20 years old and with that comes with lots of maintenance as every homeowner can attest to. We have two HVAC systems one for the first floor and basement and one for the second floor. Our first floor unit went out last year. We had SEVERAL quotes for the unit last year and Danhauer gave us a steal on the system. Jacob, their sales rep, came out and spoke with us. He was very, very friendly and easy to talk to. He made promises to us that he followed through with which, in this day and age, is harder to come by. We LOVED our first floor unit as it worked like a dream (we got a Carrier with a heat pump). This year, our second floor unit was going out. Again, we got MANY quotes from all major companies (and there are many). Jacob came to quote us again and offered the SAME price as last year for the unit this year. To us that was a bargain because it was priced so well even for last year's standard. We took it! I must say, this time around we had issues with the installation, and it didn't work at first.. we of course had record 100 degree days so a lot of things were working against us. Despite all this, Danhauer came through for us after coming back to our house a number of times. They sent their best techs (Bill, Shawn, and especially Tyler) to help solve the problem. At first they replaced the coil but it ended up being something else. At the end, they ended up reinstalling a whole brand new BIGGER system for us (at no extra charge from the original price of a smaller system) and sent a reliable team (Keith and JB) to ensure the install went smoothly. We were in communication with Danhauer and Jacob in particular who gave us his personal cell and promised we would be taken care of until all was finally fixed and working beautifully. And sure enough it's exactly what they did. Even though we had some complications, Danhauer stood by their word and took care of us at no extra charge (and a bigger system too because that's what it took!). THANK YOU, DANHAUER to your entire team! We highly recommend you all and appreciate all the follow up and diligent work in making sure we were in good hands!

We had them replace our upstairs AC unit and woke up the next day to a leak in our ceiling. They came to fix the problem and we were told they would fix our ceiling. The damage was 100% their fault. It still has not been fixed almost two months later.

Unless you want to ripped off, pick another plumber. Needed a toilet repair. Plumber was here for 5 minutes. Did not need any parts or tools to make the repair. Charged me for a full hour. I expect to pay for a service call, but an hour for a five minute fix?

Dauenhauer installed two small commodes in our house. After they left we found that the commodes were way too small to effectively ""clean ourselves"". Dauenhauer refused to replace the commodes because they are now USED. How do you know if the size is correct if you don't use it? For an extra $806 we could have replaced the small commodes with larger, and much cheaper looking ones. So we are stuck with two very small commodes. Since we are in our 80's this ought to be quite troublesome as time goes on. We have been faithful customers for years. But we won't hire them again. DEFINITELY DON'T BUY TOILETS IF YOU INTEND TO USE THEM. IF THERE'S A PROBLEM, THEY WILL NOT PLAY FAIR.

I do not recommend this company. My newly constructed home was built (2021) and they were the plumbing company contracted to do the work. I like to keep things consistent so I used them. They claim they have ""straightforward pricing"" which is just a number they throw out there for what the service is. Nothing on the invoice has a breakdown for parts, fees, labor and when I asked the lady on the phone she told me it includes ""everything needed for the job"". Very rude on the phone, also. She couldn't even tell me what the basic breakdown would be. On top of that they were late, with no apology or explanation. That seems just like a common courtesy to do, but I guess not. They will charge you a ridiculous price, finish as fast as they can and rush out the door. I don't put this on the technicians as much as I put it on those who book and assign the appointments. They have a separate department for customer relations but they have no phone number and can only be reached once THEY send an email to them to call you back. Now it's a waiting game if they even do call back. Bad experience/customer service!

Zero stars deserved. I had an appointment today sometime between 2-6pm. Had to call multiple times after 6pm before hearing from the plumber. He stated he was an hour away and that it would be $100 emergency charge because it was after 6. So I hung up and called dispatch and the lady stated that was incorrect because I had an appointment and he was late. I understand jobs run late. All he had to say was since it's late so you mind if I come tomorrow. I waited the while day. All the had to do was be honest and I would have rescheduled with the for the next day. I'm beyond disappointed and my sink is still clogged. Don't waist you time with this company.
