Dale was referred by ABA Hearth & Home for repair to a standard gas log fireplace insert. Three visits from Dale, replaced almost all parts, and still doesn't work. Dale repair people can't figure it out they say. I spent $500+ I could've replaced the entire unit for that amount. I should also add that their office reps are generally unpleasant to speak with when discussing this service issue (prob speak to a number of unhappy customers too often). No one at this company accepted the slightest bit of responsibility for not being able to fix this problem (and they refused even a partial refund ). You've been warned. Ps.: my rating is really NO stars.

A very bad experience. Charged me 1hour travel time Redwood City to San Carlos... a 10 min ride! The picture of the poor workmanship should be enough warning to go elsewhere. When I complained they said the wall they broke was my problem. Stay away you have warned.

We had recurring problems with the main sewer line backing up due to tree roots entering the old pipe. Dale plumbing replaced the main line at a reasonable price a few years ago.

The line backed up again last year so I called Dale and it turned out it was still under warranty after 7 years. They came (James and his crew), found the problem (some junction near the cleanout), and fixed it at no charge. James was very knowledgeable and courteous and did a great job. We've had no problems since then and I highly recommend Dale Plumbing.

I've been looking for a reliable plumber for a long time
and today I found not one, but two in the form of James and Harry. This amazing team fixed my broken ""vintage"" heater and two push button toilets in record time. Knowledgeable, friendly, reasonable and efficient would be the words to describe them. I highly recommend Dale Plumbing to all who are looking for excellent plumbers/heating specialists.

Was so skeptical of needing to replace my furnace and was looking for a trustworthy opinion of the possibilities . Harry Johnson was the tech who arrived at my home to assess the situation . At my request he tried to repair the problem but with total conviction and sincere effort that was not possible. He committed to replacing the heater by the following Monday (this was Friday) and as promised he arrived Monday morning and replaced our furnace. Every commitment he had made was fulfilled and all within a timely and efficient manner. He was friendly and reassuring and very organized. Cannot express how impressed we were with the service and the new heater is quite remarkable.

Dale Plumbing have helped me out on several occasions now, each time a non-standard job.
First, installing and repairing a standalone gas fireplace I scored on craigslist, thanks Eric!

And more recently, replacing a wall heater originally installed in the 1960's. Harry and Henry rock. The old heater was improperly installed but they managed to neatly remove it, install a shutoff valve with a nice new furnace and redo the exhaust all in one afternoon, and pleasantly.

Very glad I found you guys.

I've used Dale Plumbing a couple times in the last few months. They are great! The staff that answers the phones are helpful and professional. A good first impression for the business. They have flexible appointment times and were on time for each day I used them. I had Bob come out to unclog a bathroom sink...he was friendly and fixed the problem quickly. I've also had Mark come out and change out a kitchen faucet. He was nice and the kitchen faucet went in with no problem. Our homeowners association also uses Dale Plumbing and are satisfied with their work. I would definitely recommend them if you are looking for a plumbing company that's reliable and professional.

Thanks Dale Plumbing!

Deeply disappointing, bordering on criminal. Definitely neither honest nor competent. Called them to install a gas fireplace, they insisted that a part was broken, charged me for 2 hours when the whole job should have taken 1, apparently, I should have paid for an hour they spent scratching their head. I paid in good faith and ordered a replacement valve. In the meantime, I could still use the fireplace but needed to light it by hand. This was fine until the remote receiver they placed in the wrong place (in the fireplace) melted. I guess they weren't reading much in those two hours. They agreed to pay for the replacement part that melted when both arrived, I had them back to install both. The guy who came to install couldn't get the new part to work. This took him two hours too. So I said put in the old valve, at least that works by hand. He put it in and suddenly it worked fine. So the first guy, both screwed up the install and put another component in the wrong place. And the second guy has the audacity to charge me for 3 hours, to fix his colleagues mistake. Needless to say I tell him this unacceptable and ask him to pay me for the part they melted. A day later the office agreed to do this. But a month later, that check has not come. This company is incompetent, slow, dishonest and crooked. Find another option.

I recently had these great guys replace two heaters in my apartment. They did a wonderful job! We're very nice and cleaned up everything. Were on time for both the estimate and the service. I would highly recommend them and would definitely use them again.

We had Dale Plumping and Heating come out to work on our gas fireplace in December. They seemed to fix it and were very friendly. However, as they were leaving I pointed out that one of the flames was weak. He agreed that it didn't look normal, looked into it, and then told me that a part was likely defective and we needed to replace it. He said he would call first thing the next morning to get the part, call us right after for an update, and come by as soon as he got the part to fix it-- even if it was a weekend. They charged us about $260 for this visit.

Two days later, we hadn't heard from him so we called Dale. The woman we spoke to seemed annoyed and inconvenienced because she didn't know anything about the matter. We didn't hear back until the next day. Eventually the part arrived a week later so we called to schedule for him to replace it. We were told they couldn't get us in for another 2-3 weeks. So much for the ""I will come by as soon as I get the part even if it's a weekend"" statement. When they arrived a few weeks later, they stayed about 1.5 hours and charged us another $300.

We noticed immediately after that it smelled a bit like gas. We were so exasperated by the whole ordeal that we sort of just ignored it as it wasn't that strong of a smell. Then, a month later, we went on vacation and all the windows and doors were obviously left shut. We came back, entered the house, and the smell of gas was overwhelming. Clearly there was an actual leak. We called Dale and asked about their guarantee-- they said we were just outside the window for their 30-day guarantee so they would not look at it for free.

At this point, we weren't going to pay Dale another $300 to fix something that they did not properly fix the first time, so we asked our handyman to take a look since he is familiar with heaters, although he has never fixed a fireplace. Within about five minutes, he was able to locate the gas leak and discover that two parts had not been attached correctly by Dale and needed to be replaced. He went to Home Depot, bought the part, and fixed it by that afternoon for about $50 total. He doesn't even work on fireplaces and he was appalled that Dale left us with a substantial gas leak and broken part.

So all in all, we spend close to $600 for Dale to come over, not fix it correctly and have me point it out, re-do what they did for a higher charge than the first time, and then leave us with a gas leak and broken fireplace.
