Good seevice. Showed up when they said the tech would, but I believe i got screwed for the parts needed to get my ac up and working again.
Tech diagnosed that I should have a capacitor replaced in the condensing unit outside, although it was not necessary to get the unit back up running. But since it was going out the compressor would have work too hard and would have to be replaced sooner. Cost of the capacitor and the 10 minute diagnosis $350.00!!!. No idea how much a capacitor really cost I went ahead and approved.
Since it wasn't really the capacitor that needed to be replaced to get the unit back up running the tech needed to replace the thermostat inside the house that was really the culprit of the AC not working. Another $350.00!! I was not home at that time, but my wife approved. Boy was I surprised when I got home and she informed me that the total bill was $750.00!!
Since I'm in the plumbing business I know companies do have a mark up on parts. After all they have to pick them up from their supplier and warranty the part in case it goes bad. I checked on line to see what the approx. cost of a capacitor is. There are many types for AC's. All are anywhere from $10 to $30. Nice mark up on the parts Cypress HVAC!! I also got hosed on the basic thermostat that they charged $350.00 for. Yes 350 bucks!! A Nest thermostat doesn't cost that much!
Good service but watch out. You might just get screwed on the parts!!

My first meeting with Bob from Cypress Heating & Air was back in 1994. I had my very first central heating and air installed by another company when I added on to my house in 1992. After two years it stopped working and unfortunately the company had gone out of business. I called another company out for repair and the wires burned shortly after the repair guy left. I was worried to call them back and gave up. We sat without air for a few weeks. I called another heating and air who wanted to charge by the hour to trouble shoot the problem and couldn't give me an idea on how much it could end up costing. We were tapped out at that point and didn't want to take a chance on getting a large bill to try to get it running again.
I decided to try one more call and called Cypress Heating & Air In Glendora. Bob came out right away and took a look and said ""for $200.00 I can guarantee to have it up and running and you won't have a problem again"". He fixed the unit that day and it continued to work for the next 22 years. It was not very efficient and therefore we didn't run the unit too often and didn't get the full benefit of staying cool during the hot summer months.
I was sold on the great service and recommended Cypress to my neighbors who also used them and had a positive experience.
When the time came in 2012, we went to Costco in San Dimas who had a kiosk that carried Lennox products. We went with Costco for the rebate and used our Citi Costco card for another rebate. We found out that Cypress Heating & Air was their Installer. I said ""a perfect combination of Costco and Cypress Heating & Air"". I couldn't believe that we would have the same great service we were already used to with Cypress Heating & Air but being able to purchase the unit through Costco who we love as well.
Cypress Heating & Air came to my house and we went over the different models and options. We went with one of the highest efficiency rated model with WiFi plus attic installation. They also went over all the utility rebates. Using the Costco, Citi Visa and utility rebates helped bring down the out of pocket cost considerably.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our Lennox and it has saved us a lot of money during the summer months. We no longer worry of the cost to run it and we just set it and leave it on. It's also quiet compared to our old unit.
We have continued to have Cypress Heating & Air service it every six months to keep our Lennox running in top form. Cypress said they could sell us the filter or we could buy our own Lennox filters and they would install it for us during the maintenance. We found the filters on-line in a box of five which also saves us a lot of money. I always like to take a look at the old filter to see how dirty they are and it really is a good idea to replace it every six months to keep the unit in good working condition.
Cypress Heating & Air has grown since I first meet Bob in 1994 and I see their trucks and vans everywhere. I still receive the same great service and look forward to continuing using Cypress Heating & Air for years to come.

Excellent customer Service!! Daniel Bushey did an amazing, thorough job! Our air conditioner stopped working during a heat spell. We called Cypress Air first thing Monday morning. They arranged for an same day appointment. I appreciated that they text us the confirmation, as well as the Techs background and photo so we would be aware of who was coming to our home. Daniel checked everything, was reasonable and fast! Great job - will use again.

I had a very bad experience. Some confusion as to why our a/c wasn't working properly. Cypress Heating & Air installed our system in 2002 and the technician indicated today that we need a new motor; no indication of what it would cost, what warranty, or even if they could still get the motor. The technician misdiagnosed the problem; there's nothing wrong with the motor. From what Kelly told me he told her that our filter was dirty and that was probably burning out our motor; don't remember the exact words but I wasn't happy. The technician left; disappeared and said nothing... never returned and when I called Kelly couldn't tell me why. A verbal confrontation erupted and I told Kelly I was done with this and done with the conversation and I hung up. I was told to not call them again. THEN Kelly calls me and yells and screams about how rude I was; I yelled back and cussed her out. I emailed them and told them to NOT CALL ME; fair is fair. THEN Kelly emails me and tries the self righteous approach that she did nothing wrong and she would pray for me. I told her that it is not right to impose her religion on me in any way. I told her that if she contacts me again I will file a police report. I wrote a letter to the owner Bob H. certified mail and hope he reads the letter. I hope Kelley doesn't intercept the letter. Everything I'm saying is true. We are going elsewhere for a new a/c heating system.

Ubaldo and Dany were great! Got my old unit drained and inspected, ready to go again. They did come late to the appointment, due to a flat tire, but I was very satisfied with the quality of their service!

Update: to the owner/manager that responded. I would be glad to send you the receipt of the work accomplished. From my current experience and other past reviews; I do not expect a timely or any response at all. Just because you have been in business for 50 years; that does not excuse your taking advantage if elderly and unassuming potential customers.

Feb. 20, 2019 - Ubaldo went over and above performing a routine checkup on my heating and cooling system today. He checked everything carefully and even went up in the attic to increase the airflow into my study. He also cleaned the outside air conditioning condenser. I am so happy I purchased my system from Cypress and highly recommend their services.

Called this company out to check my heater that was not igniting on Monday. Company said I will get phone call to let my know when the tech was in route...never got a call. Tech Daniel arrives and tells my wife he found a hose disconnected in the unit and now it's working fine. He said I will receive an invoice via Email...never received an Email . We paid the 82$ visit fee. Unit ran fine for a couple of hours until it stopped blowing hot air. I called then back today to look at it again. This time a get a text that Daniel was in route probably because I told the receptionist on the phone that I didn't get a call yesterday. He shows up and says the heater is working fine. I get home and found the unit running with no hot air. I took the temperature of discharge air at the grills I got 69 degrees F, about the same temperature of the ambient air inside the house. I turn the unit off at the stat and the blower keeps running. So the unit is still broke and I'm out 82$. I'll be looking for another company ASAP.

Cypress air installed a vent for me in October. I was very impressed not only with the quality of work but their excellent customer service. Ivan and Osmond were friendly and warm in their greeting. Before stepping foot into my house and without question, they automatically put on their shoe covers which prevents tracking in dirt into my home and carpet. This simple act alone spoke volumes to me because that tells me they respect me and my home. From then on, they continued on with their work. I asked them to tell me when they were going to make loud noise as my baby was sleeping in the neighboring room. They gladly let me know. Once they were all finished, they cleaned up their mess. I don't know how many contractors I've let into my home where they leave a mess expecting the homeowner to clean up after them or use the homeowners cleaning supplies without permission to clean up messes. I was very impressed and grateful that they left my home cleaner than when they arrived. It's these simple acts of consideration and customer service that go a long way for me. Ivan and Osmond, please keep up the superior work and I hope other contractors can learn from you!
