We called Custom Cooling & Plumbing for a clogged drain on a Sunday, when all plumbing problems occur. We liked the $70 fee to come out and they arrived promptly. Also included in the $70 fee would be a camera inspection of our drain. Initially, they were very good in locating the clog and snaking the drain. The problem started when they brought out the camera. They attempted to go through several access points and finally had to go on the roof, for which we would be charged $150. Then we were told the lines had so much debris, in order to get a better look they needed to hydrojet the lines. That would cost $400 and take 2 hours. At this point we were still trusting, so we said okay. They hydrojetted the lines (which took about 20 minutes and looked the same before and after), then they told us the cast iron waste pipes should be replaced. They also suggested that we call our insurance company and say we had a ""leak"" so that some of the charges would be covered by our insurance policy. I don't doubt our 60 year old pipes may need to be replaced. What I don't like is what was quoted as a $70 charge rapidly turned into a job that could cost thousands (not to mention $400 for what was essentially running water through our pipes). The suggestion to run the repair through our insurance company also didn't sit well. If you have a simply clog, Custom Cooling will be fine. Just beware of up charges.

I have to personally call out Jorge for his punctuality, friendly demeanor, and over all outstanding work ethic. Jorge was here for multiple days working on replacing a mainline feeding my kitchen and bathrooms. Starting on Christmas Eve. Yeah, that's right. Around 9pm on Christmas Eve!

Over the course of several days of repairs, he put in many long hours and was often the only one here, doing most of the work himself. At no point did he seem put off by the amount of work that he needed to do and he put his best professional, and personal face forward throughout it all. He genuinely likes his job and it shows. Don't get me wrong, there were a few other people here with him at times, but one can't help but to notice Jorge's attitude and personality, all in the best way possible. Thanks Jorge, and thanks CCP!

Had our downstairs toilet randomly overflowing with disgusting water every time we would use our upstairs shower (bought house about a year ago, so we're still new to this stuff). It got pretty bad so after not being able to shower for a couple days we rented a snake and shopvac and got to work. Well, we couldn't fix the problem ourselves but couldn't wait any longer on help.

Called Custom for our plumbing issue and their phone guy (around 12:00am) was very helpful and kind. Our technician was Michael. He was awesome. I never write reviews, but this deserved one. It was 2:00am and cold and he did a great job, took his time explaining things to me, and it was super cheap. Can't believe it. Thank you, guys. Time for a hot shower.

I have no issues with the work quality, however an inaccurate estimate is a major issue in my mind. I contacted a few plumbers to get estimates since I knew exactly what the issue was. I chose CC&P based on it having good reviews and an estimate $30 less than any other company I contacted. When they showed up to do the work I was informed that the estimate they'd given me was completely false (although the job was the exact same I'd mentioned on the phone just hours before). I was going to have to pay $120 more than estimated for the 15-20 minute job. I ended up stuck with them given any saved costs from going with another company I'd gotten estimates from likely wouldn't make up for the service cost I'd get from having CC&P showing up just to more than double their original estimate.

It's safe to say I will be looking for a different company for all future plumbing work.

After seeing an online deal for a $69 drain cleaning, I called this company on a Saturday morning. Michael (a.k.a. the Drain Whisperer) was efficient and friendly; he called to say he was on his way less than an hour after I called the company, and he fixed the stopped up kitchen sink with no hangups. I also appreciated that this company did not charge extra for weekend service; the last time i had to call a plumbing service (Roto Rooter) for a stopped up toilet, their weekend fee left me with a $129 bill for a 5-minute service.

Nice enough on the phone, and it's nice that they can come out same day after hours for no additional fee. We had an underground water leak at an apartment complex and our regular plumber was busy but you can really tell when someone doesn't want to do a big job because the first quote was at least $2000 and then within a few minutes the quote went up to between $5000 and $6,000.. then if we did it during the daytime and not after hours it went down to $3000 to $4,000. We would have paid $2000 to get it done last night. So it was a little disappointing that they were really trying to take advantage of the situation. We opted to wait until today and our regular plumber did it for $895. Thanks but no thank you.

This company did an excellent job. I just bought my house and within 5 days had a total plumbing blockage - roots in pipe said home warranty. Home warranty said it would cost $20-30k - i freaked out. I spoke with Vincent (owner of CUSTOM PLUMBING OF AZ) and he told me about his employee Michael - heck he sounded like a pipe/root whisperer. Michael came out to my home - on time and brought a camera and saw the ROOT of the problem. He told me it is not an unusual problem in this area. He calmly explained to me how they were going to have to drill into the foundation and to my surprise I was calm also. He explained the process to me and literately took me by the hand and showed me the way. We agreed to do the work which was thousands of dollars less than the original company quoted. They financed the repair for me. Completed the work in a very timely manner and they were beyond clean and neat. Swept everything up as if they were not even here. THIS WAS THE MOST STRESS FREE REPAIR THAT I HAVE EVER HAD DONE IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. Michael is the pipe whisper. A 3 generation plumber. I would never use another company - an A+ rating is not good enough for this company A++++++++!

Don't use these guys unless you like spending lots and lots and lots of money!

We had an issue with our AC and called these guys out. After a short while the tech came back in and told me that there was a part that needed changing. They then began to up-sell me telling me there were other items that should be replaced, ""capacitors"" apparently. OK maybe they were needed but lets address the main issue first. Then they continued with the sell trying to get me to take out an annual maintenance contract ($290) so I would save money! If I signed up then and there I would get a discount on my service. BTW we have 2 units and they suggested we do both to save time... To add insult to injury when I looked at their quote they gave no discount at all for the 2nd unit, come on guys you are here already right!

Our AC was working although not optimally so I decided to say thanks but no thanks and check around. BTW their suggested maintenance was going to top $1500!

I did some research and called around, finding out some very interesting facts. Bottom line the parts they were suggesting came to just over $100. Wow this must be a huge job to make up the difference in labor. I had somebody else come and do the work and they just left having taken approx 45 mins to do everything.

I get that there are overheads in running a business but trying to charge more than $1500 for $100 worth of parts and less than an hours work, come on folks who do you think you are kidding.

P.S. The Capacitor scam. These guys suggested I have 2 capacitors per unit replaced totaling approx $800, yes thats $200 each. Prices can vary but the items for my unit were $10 and $20 respectively. I watched as one was installed and it took less than 2 minutes. If you have an issue with an AC capacitor make sure you call around and check out the parts cost. I found folks charging even higher so don't get caught out.

My heater stopped working in mid-December when it was reaching 30 degrees at night. I used Custom Cooling years ago and they seemed fair and reasonable. I called and they said it would be a $79 service charge which I agreed to. Steve came out, looked at the unit for 10 minutes and said the blower motor needed to be replaced. He wrote an estimate for $640 + I had to pay the $79 service charge. Steve said he had the part and it would take an hour. That price seemed way too high so I called around and neighbor referred me to Dave at Mountain Air. He came out and replaced the blower motor and fixed the unit for $355. I don't know what happened to Custom Cooling - maybe they sold out or got too big. My advice is to skip them altogether. I'm a single middle-aged female but I have rehabbed several houses and own rentals and I hate getting ridiculously high quotes and getting ripped off because I look like a ""dumb blond"".
