I called Cummings Plumbing for a job because I had used them many years ago with fantastic results. Not this time. I had to convince the plumber I preferred to check for leaks before signing the bill and paying him. Luckily I did. I found a leak at all five lines he worked on. I thought it was a plumber's job to find a leak, not the customer's. He even accused me of creating leaks because I found leaking loose connections. He was rushed because he may have needed to go to another job. That isn't my problem. I hired a professional plumber to ensure the job would have been done correctly the first time...no leaks. This plumber is immature for accusing customers of creating leaks and isn't capable of detecting his own leaks. Pretty sad. I hope his customer service and, more importantly to me, his plumbing skills improve, going forward. I will definitely try a different plumbing company the next time. He fixed all leaks before leaving but if I had not found them, it would had been worse service.

I called them because my AC drain pan was leaking... The tech came and opened the cabinet and used my shop vac to vacuum it out and then proceeded to lose the closure plug. He then taped over the hole and said that if it leaked any more to call and he'd come back. He charged me $150... Something didn't seem right so I used a credit card to pay, which I normally don't do. It began leaking within an hour. I called back and immediately got the run around. They couldn't decide if the office manager was there or not but then settled on that she's scheduled from 3pm and that they couldn't understand why the tech wasn't responding by radio. Long story short... Exactly 12 calls... Always that someone would call back... But no calls. Then they said another tech would come... Its now three days later and no one has called or come. I've already disputed the charge with my credit card company.
Absolutely the worst service I've seen in years.

I would not call these guys to replace a faucet washer. I had two of their technicians(?) try to fix my furnace. First one said he didn't know what caused the problem. Bill was $65.00. & he wrote that he wouldn't warranty his work. The next guy couldn't fix it and tried to charge me $140.00! One of them told me hat the system may fix itself after it ran a while.
I will call somebody else before winter to fix my furnace.
And, I don't want to start telling about my new A/C system. There is not enough room on this site to discuss that.

BEWARE - CUSTOMER SERVICE NIGHTMARE. I can't rate the work that these folks do since they did not show up for my scheduled morning appointment. They did call (10am) and say that there was a plumbing emergency elsewhere. I asked that they reschedule for later the same day since I had taken the day off work to have my septic tank pumped. I was told that they would check with their plumbers for availability and would get back with me within a few hours. I called them about 1pm and was told that they were still awaiting response from their plumbers and would call me within the next 2 hours. Still no reschedule call at NOON THE NEXT DAY. I called them again to vent at the Customer Service Manager (Terri) and was told that she was on the phone and that she would call me when she was available. She never called. I will take my business elsewhere and do business with a company that has an inkling of an idea of how to take care of a customer. I have no idea how a company with such poor customer service stays in business. I'll never consider doing business with them again.

Update: Terri called me shortly after I posted this review (coincidence?) and was very apologetic and acknowledged that I was give very poor service. She could not commit to a reschedule time due to the still ongoing plumbing emergency (school plumbing issue) and my busy work schedule. She did suggest that they might offer me some sort of discount if I opted to use them but I will still probably look elsewhere.

I am furious. I called Cummings Plumbing for a simple estimate to replace a fifteen year old water softener. Instead, they came out and gave me an sales pitch estimate for a ScaleBlaster SB-175. This is an electronic unit that is supposed to give you soft water with no salt or ion exchange. How? By wrapping a couple of couple of wires around your water pipe and pulsing the water with frequencies that will make the calcium and magnesium explode into very fine particles. Not only that, but this unit will magically make these particles seek out the calcium and magnesium in your pipes and descale your entire plumbing system. Holy Crap! That is amazing! These units are a total scam and have no science to back up their outrageous claims. As an electronics and Radio Frequency engineer (MSEE), I immediately recognized this as total BS.

One can buy one of these worthless pieces of junk for as low as $250.00 over the net. The advertising says that they are easy to install for DIY'ers. So, what was the estimate that they gave me? $1,595.00 (oh, they gave me a $100.00 discount for a total of $1,495.00.) You know, the very worst part about this was the estimate was prepared and given to me by the owners son, Jake Cummings himself. Hang your heads in shame, Cummings Plumbing. You will never get any further business from me.
================================
P.S.: Don't believe the comment below from the owner for a moment. It's a big fat BS lie. And NO I Did Not receive any quote for a water softener like I wanted. They were strictly pushing the worthless Scale Blaster scam. BIG BIG profit margin on that piece of junk.

Drywall part of the job I would not recommend. Spitting in my neighbour's property is not part of the deal either.
Manners - overall -, and communication about when and when they would not be here did not seem to happen with the drywall team.
Unlike the plumbers, this crew we did not feel comfortable having around.
Hopefully there are better around.

Terrible experience. I had a water leak at one of my rental properties. Was quoted somewhere around $125/hr. They were honest about the hrs worked. However, their markup of parts is ridiculous (5x higher than retail prices in some cases). I was charged $155 in parts that I can get at a retail store for around $50 total. I received an invoice and called to get clarification about the markup of parts. I have contacted them 5 times and have not received 1 response. Guess they don't want any payment. I also have a $10 misc fee with no explanation on the invoice. So I get billed for nothing? SEE IMAGE BELOW. Is that supposed to help cover the plumbers time since he got a flat tire on the way to my house and was 2hrs later than they initially told me it would be.
Al Coronado quoted me for $276 labor and parts for the same job. I went with Cummings because I knew it was a quick fix but I did not expect such a high markup.

Read other reviews and saw similar reviews from those with bad experiences. DO NOT TRUST THESE GUY. THEY ARE NOT UP FRONT ABOUT COSTS EXCEPT FOR THE HOURLY RATE. THEY REEL YOU IN WITH THE HR RATE AND THEN RAPE YOU ON MARKUP OF PARTS AND OTHER HIDDEN FEES.

I always get a couple of opinions when there are major repairs to do. In this case it paid off. A Cummings technician checked my central ac/heating unit on the roof and declared that I needed a $700 furnace blower motor, but I should opt for a new $7.5k unit instead because of the ""age of my unit"".

Well, I am not a technician and I have to rely on an honest evaluation, so I called Advantage Air Mechanical heating and cooling and their technician said my unit was in good condition and just needed a furnace blower motor, and that he could install it for $325 complete, parts and labor.

Sometimes I wonder if Companies like Cummings ever think that they will get caught for misrepresenting a repair or price gouging. Perhaps heavy local advertising pushes them to squeeze their customers for more dollars. That's why I make a habit to follow my rule which is, ""trust but verify"".

The receptionist told us that the service reps would arrive at my home between 8:00 and 8:30am. They knocked on my door at 8:02! That was a wonderful change from the usual ""between 9 and 3"" that you get from most places. The work was done in an efficient manner with no mess to my home. The details of the work were explained to me effectively. The receptionists at the office didn't seem to know a lot of the information that they should know, but that's my only quibble. I was very happy with the service and will definitely use them again.

If you have money to burn use Cummings. I spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on plumbing and within 2 months had a leak on a outside shutoff that was threaded wrong. Called them only to find out that I would be charged again. They replaced a kitchen sink, and after my disposal was not working. Called again and they tried to sell me one of theirs. There was nothing wrong with the disposal prior. I Told them no thanks and called another plumber who did an excellent and professional job. I would never ever use Cummings again. I'd rather go without water.
