Our heater stopped working, so we called them out to our home and they tried to sell us a $20k with interest (= $45k with a 15-year payment plan) HVAC system. When we said no, they insisted we buy it FOUR more times after that within 24 hours and refused to give us the superficial repairs ($2,500) we needed in the timeframe they themselves suggested. We needed the heat back on immediately as the temperature tonight would drop to 28° and they tried to play chicken with us because they knew we would be desperate. We contacted another service here in Tallahassee and that different service arrived here the same day and did a simple fix for $300 without trying to sell us anything. Do not trust these scam artists at Cooper's, specifically Ryan and Caleb.

Caleb Cawthon (229-254-0049) from Cooper's Plumbing & Air, came out to my residence recently for my healthy home inspection. He took pictures and advised me of all this work that my HVAC allegedly needed. He was supposed to provide me with the results, which I have not received. I had another company come out to get a second opinion and I was advised that I do not need anything done to the unit. They also advised that my breaker in the attic was turned off and the water drain on the outside unit was turned upside down. Both things were done by Caleb as I just moved into the home around a month ago. I do not appreciate being lied to and having my property tampered with in order for me to be scammed into getting work done that it not needed.

Called about 7pm to get info, was told $159 to diagnose the problem (blocked drain). Said no thanks. At 8:04 the next morning, same woman called and said they're running a special for drain cleaning at $100 total. Finally agreed and about 5pm that afternoon Javier got there. Looked under the house, said should be straight shot and used his """"roto rooter-type thing"""" to clear the drain outside. After several minutes, he pulled the thing out and it had roots on it. Said you need to replace the whole line out to the street. He was very pleasant and seemed to know what he was doing. Said he couldn't guarantee work he had done since complete replacement was necessary. Gave him a check for the $100 and he sent invoice marked paid, which I had NOT signed (but he had scribbled something where my signature should be) . Sent """"invoice"""" for the total replacement - $8,000, but 15% less if we signed up for this contract. An hour later, I ran a load of clothes, and the same thing happened - backed up into bathtub, bubbled in toilet. Worse than before. Tried calling and texting him since he'd left his number - no answer, no reply till next morning when he said it would be about $500 for someone to come out on Saturday and he had told me it wasn't guaranteed. I said no thanks, I'd handle it myself. Called around and found a local guy who came over to check it out, discussed several possibilities, then got his """"roto rooter-type thing with a cutting blade on it"""" and in 20 minutes, had cleared the line and everything worked. Said we don't need to replace anything. Total cost $250. On a Saturday. Unfortunately, I had written a positive review for Javier and Cooper's before I discovered nothing had been fixed. Trying to figure out how to delete them! For sure, get a second opinion if they give you a quote for anything!

Ah I hate to even write this. However reading the other reviews I see my incident was not isolated. To make a point. I just found out I have a leak and I badly need it fixed. I know coopers can get it taken care of tomorrow. However I refuse to be severely overcharged again. So I'm gunna let this leak flow till Monday when I can get it addressed. My first experience with Coopers we had a kitchen pipe disconnect under the sink. The guy who serviced it was awesome. Great personality. Charged the main fee and of course over charged us to fix it right then and there. Since it was my sink it was worth it to just get it done. I signed on for the plan and the perks sounded great considering we had just bought our home. After signing the plan we were contacted for our free ac evaluation. I went ahead and scheduled that! During our evaluation a guy came out and again great personality. He checked out our duct work and the ac unit. It's old and was not well maintained so I knew it needed some tlc. He said I needed a new capacitor. Showed me how he tested it and I was okay with that. He also recommended an internal cleaning. Showed me the organic matter that was growing and all the dirt that had been kicked into the unit. I spent a pretty penny for sure. Immediately after the capacitor replacement my husband came home and said the house felt abnormally warm. I brushed it off cause there was no way I was gunna get blamed for making a bad decision. Within 72 hours our fan motor went out. Doing a quick google search it became relevant that when replacing a bad capacitor it can often over load a bad fan motor. I called coopers and I asked if he had tested the fan motor while he did the inspection. He had not. So now we had no ac in the middle of summer and the only immediately available company was coopers. Since the fan motor they had came with the right for it capacitor I essentially bought 2 capacitors within 72 hours and he acted like he had done me a favor by not recharging me a service fee. I was def left biter by this. I felt like I should have been refunded the $200+ capacitor I now couldn't use and I felt like not charging an additional service fee was just common sense since he should have tested the fan during the first visit. After this my sink repair failed and the same cool guy came out to fix it. He made it clear the first repair was a bandaid like I did know but we both were expecting at least a 6 month shelf life on it. He did a more permanent repair and it has held since. So here I am with a leak on a Friday and I am afraid to call Coopers. I gave 2 stars cause the guys do have great customer service in a sense. I feel like it's the company morals that are lacking.

Grossly overpriced with serious price gauging. Quoted $7,000 to replace an A/C compressor that other reliable contractors quoted at less than $3,000. Sorry I wasted time with them getting a quote.

I needed my kitchen faucet tightened and knobs added to the two outdoor spickets. After waiting 5.5 hours for them to show up, I received a text asking if I could reschedule. I agreed to reschedule for several days later but was a bit irritated at wasting a whole day waiting on them. The same thing happened with the second scheduled appointment. I waited forever for them to show up only to be asked if I could reschedule. I should have cancelled then. However, I replied that I would reschedule if they assured me I'd be the first appointment of the morning on any day the following week. I didn't want to waste another day waiting on them. I received a text at 9:09 on the morning of the third scheduled appointment from the tech advising he was on his way. He didn't show up until 11:30 with no apology or acknowledgement he was 2 hours late. By this time I was annoyed. He tightened the kitchen faucet (30 seconds), with no tools needed and replaced the two outdoor spicket heads (parts at Ace HW are $12/each). He quoted me $321 which I thought was outrageous but accepted. At this point, I just wanted it done. What I didn't realize until I received the emailed invoice is the total cost came to $480. The original price estimated did not include the additional $159 service fee. UPDATE - I received a call from the manager who agreed to remove the $159 service fee. He also advised the technician was coming from Bainbridge, GA which is why it took so long for him to get to my house. I have no complaints regarding the work that was performed or the professionalism of the technician. I also appreciate the manager reaching out to me and taking the time to make it right.

This company is ripping people off and ripped off my 95 year old mother. Her a/c quit and to come out it would be an xtra $50 (total $109) if she wanted them now or $50 less if she could wait 2 days...Really?? Then, they replaced a $30 capacitor and charged her almost $600. I called my a/c company and it would be $149 total. Unreal

Brandon is an absolute great plumber he listens to your concerns he is always on time he explains solutions too you and most of all he has a good reputation to his local community

Charged $109 just for coming out to see AC unit. Said $500+ to cut wires and swap out a capacitor (which can be bought for ~$15). So total would have been $600. Left without turning the breaker back on, when I did the unit started smoking.

0 Stars!!! For the love of God, run. These are the most careless, clueless, and unprofessional group of """"technicians"""" that I have EVER encountered. Save yourself from the headache my blood is boiling right now at their incompetence and lack of care.
