I remember a Christmas when he handmade a complete Santa Claus display with lights, placing it on our roof. In my mind, he was not just handy but a true genius. Naturally, I aspired to be like him, but there was one obstacle—I was a girl. Thus, I buried my aspirations and went to college. After finishing high school with top honors, I graduated from college and joined the corporate world. On weekends and during my free time, I practiced and learned a variety of trades. For three decades, I worked on home improvement projects of every size and eventually established my own business—Concierge Renovations.
