Company Overview

Eldred and Jo Ann Lewis founded the company in 1965 as Lewis Heating & A/C. At 202 S Broadway in Larned, they supplied quality Maytag items, Motorola TVs, and Coleman heating and air conditioning, in addition to servicing various brands. In 1971, they moved to their current address at 622 Topeka Street. Their son, Steven Lewis, began working with the company as an HVAC serviceman in 1977. Steven acquired the company from his parents in 2008 and rebranded it as Comfort Systems Inc. to reflect the growing emphasis on comfort and energy efficiency.

Steven holds a State of Kansas license as a mechanical contractor and plumber. Steven is a certified home energy rater and has been affiliated with the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Steven is also NATE certified in air distribution and duct installation.

As a lifelong Larned resident, Steven graduated from Leadership Larned and has held positions as a member and Chair of the Building and Trades Board for the City of Larned. He is also a member of the Fort Larned Lions Club, where he serves as Treasurer. He has occupied all leadership positions in the Club and served as District Governor, subsequently being elected Council Chairman for the Lions of Kansas.
