Eldred and Jo Ann Lewis founded the company in 1965 as Lewis Heating & A/C. Located at 202 S Broadway in Larned, they offered reliable Maytag products, Motorola televisions, and Coleman HVAC systems, as well as service for all brands. In 1971, they transitioned to their current site at 622 Topeka Street. In 1977, their son, Steven Lewis, joined the business as an HVAC technician. Steven acquired the company from his parents in 2008 and rebranded it as Comfort Systems Inc. to reflect the growing emphasis on comfort and energy efficiency.

He is a licensed mechanical contractor and plumber in the State of Kansas. He has received training as a home energy rater and has been a member of the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society since 1992. Moreover, Steven holds NATE certification in duct installation and air distribution.

All of this is aimed at providing our clients with the optimal solutions for their energy and comfort requirements while ensuring the safety and security of a well-designed home.

As a lifelong Larned resident, Steven graduated from Leadership Larned and has held positions as a member and Chair of the Building and Trades Board for the City of Larned. Steven is a member of the Fort Larned Lions Club and currently holds the position of Treasurer. Steven has taken on all leadership roles in the Club and has been District Governor, later elected as Council Chairman for the Lions of Kansas the next year.
