John Flores and his crews are A+ in my book. I would definitely recommend Colony Home for any and all your damage-related repairs and remodeling.
We had water damage that occurred in our upstairs bathroom and the water leaked through the floors and into our kitchen. We were out of the home for two full months while all of the mitigation and repair work was done. We had to replace the entire wood floors upstairs, carpeting in two rooms, ceiling and wall repair, and a great deal of painting. John worked with our insurance adjuster and fought for us every step of the way. When the insurance tried to cover as little as possible, he coached us and helped us understand what rights we have under our policy and how to speak to the adjuster to advocate for ourselves to get the home back to "pre-loss condition". By the time the estimate was presented and reviewed, our adjuster covered everything that was asked for: temporary housing, food, gas, milage, tolls, etc. We stayed at very nice AirBnB and VRBO homes during the two-month displacement and were able to continue our normal routine with the kids' schooling and programs and with my work. John kept us and the adjuster updated with all aspects of the project. When there were delays with materials (which there were because this happened during Covid), he made sure we were all aware so that we could ensure the housing situation was not going to be impacted and we could stay where we were without having to move unnecessarily. When issues arose, John handled them very professionally and fairly. There was an incident where my back door deadbolt stopped working. I brought it to John's attention and was convinced that the cause was linked to his crew somehow (I went with the whole, 'it was working fine before you all started working on the house and now it's not working' mindset). John and I discussed it at length and he agreed to cover the cost of replacing the lock. He hired his locksmith, Ben the Locksmith [who is AMAZING btw], and when Ben came to perform the repairs/replacement, he was able to show me that the lock stopped working from normal wear and tear. The timing was just coincidental but it was the end of the life of the lock. Feeling horrible that I blamed John's guys for something that was not actually their fault, I apologized. John told me not to worry about it that he'd take care of it. I offered to cover half the cost of the repair, but he insisted. This showed me how much of a fair and honest person he is to work with; going above and beyond when he doesn't have to. We only experienced two other major incidents during the remainder of the project, and John took care of them fairly and honestly. By the time we were back in the house when they were all done, it was like when we first moved in after buying it; had that "home sweet home" feeling. Our insurance adjuster even commented at how easy it was to work with John from his point of view and that he hoped to work with Colony Home in the future as a preferred vendor on future claims work.
Special shout out to the guys from John's crew that did exceptional work during the project:
Ron Ferguson @ Floor King - made the entire floor-buying experience so seamless and stress-free
Ben the Locksmith - great guy; very knowledgeable about all your locksmith and security needs
Roger - built the bathroom cabinets that replaced the ones that were damaged. Also replaced a wood trim that went around a recessed wall where my TV goes that had gotten damaged. Did an amazing job with that work and was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Mark the plumber - love this guy. I was very impressed with how well he does his job and his overall pleasant attitude and humor. Mark is super cool.
Appreciate your professionalism, expertise, and the heart behind why you got into the business in the first place. You fight for us homeowners every step of the way. Thanks, John!!

I really cannot praise this company enough. Rian is perhaps one of the best employees I've ever encountered. He ensured that my place look decent while taking care of a leak.
Came out here on my schedule to help me with a problematic situation. He scheduled a construction estimator the same time he was there.
I'm well on track on having my repairs fixed in under 2 weeks.

I would not recommend Colony Home for any work on your home. We used the company for a mitigation job at our home. Throughout the project we were given deadlines and promises that were not met. We were promised that after the mitigation was complete, Colony Home would repair our home in 2-3 weeks. Instead, they took 2-3 weeks to give us an estimate and then let us know that they could not start the work for at least 2-3 months. We felt like we were being constantly lied to in order to get our business. We found the project manager John to be abrasive and not very pleasant to deal with. Overall, we did not have a very good experience with Colony Home.

Mark visited my home to unclog my sink drain. He found that my painting contractor had been cleaning off his paint brushes in the sink which cause this buildup to occur, he eventually pulled out the gunk and got me back up & running. Very sweet guy, took his time to do it right and helped so much.

Home warranty send this service to our house to unclog the kitchen drain, but the technician was not able to unclog it after 4 tries. We paid the diagnosis fee, and this service also collected payments for repair from the home warranty, but nothing is fixed. Basically this service collected payments from both parties but didn't resolve the problem. The home warranty case manager was assigned and recalled the same service to us within their rights (because home warranty paid repair fees already), however, when I called and spoke to a lady (receptionist) today, she was extremely rude, refused on the phone, saying they requested hydrojet but home warranty refused to pay more so they aren't doing it, and she said it's standard procedure to charge both parties, she ended up losing control and yelling: "call your warranty, call your warranty, call your warranty!!" And hung up. I have never dealt with anyone one the phone being so rude and not professional. I can see a reason to decline service before collecting payments, but after both parties paid already, then declining further service ( recall ), and so rude and unprofessional, is not common.

I had a great experience with this company today. They were sent out through my home warranty and they were professional, explained everything to me (I know nothing about plumbing), were efficient, dealt with everything with my home warranty on the spot and didn't make more than one trip to fix my issue like some technicians do, and came at the beginning of their time slot.
I will absolutely use them again if I ever need them. Until then I will recommend them to all.

Great company. Communicated perfectly with me through the entire process. Very professional workers.

Pru and O'Con were very professional and solved the problems they were presented with. Not only that, but they also gave future advice and answered all questions. They helped clear a faucet that was down to a dribble, and replaced a broken faucet with a new one that didn't quite fit, so they used power tools and all to get it to fit. They were both very friendly, and fun to have as almost like visitors in my home!

Hiring this company has resulted in Colony Home bringing in a subcontractor into our home, hired by Mr. John Flores. Master Granite, owned my Memo Perez, whom did not have any insurance, filed exotic granite in my kitchen that was not within OSHA standards and my home is now contaminated with Silica. They used no water when cutting inside, or the proper collection of granite dust. A shop vac doesn't do the job, clearly. Two independent labs have verified this quartz/silica substance. Mr. Flores has been a nightmare to contend with while my spouse is in Afghanistan. He walked off the job after being paid $7,000 and did not finish the bathroom, (paint or bathtub grout), or my kitchen.
I was left without plumbing for eight weeks and I have a two year old. He attempted to clean up the granite dust with a cleaning company but they only caused further damage, this resulted in $1900 in damages. Dust was removed but not the silica. As soon as Mr. Flores was made aware of the silica contamination, he refused to provide his insurance information. USAA would not cover damages caused by his "gross negligence." I read his 'eleven five star reviews,' and assumed he was "trustworthy". He said to me, "Trust me, Mrs. Duff." "You're not trusting me, Mrs. Duff." It is almost February and my home is still unfinished. He was hired August 25th, 2019.
Beware. Use caution. His quality control is horrific. They scratch things, drip paint, lose molding pieces, lack supplies, have to repeatedly repair subpar work, charge for materials they do not use, and charge for services they do not provide. Such as moving furniture, removing appliances, taping rooms before painting, protecting your property. This will cost us several times what the original projected costs were to repair our home from his crew and subcontractor. I've had to hire a law firm to recover my damages. Some projected estimates, $9800 to clean the kitchen of silica, new cabinets $6400, Hvac system cleaned $2500. This has caused us so much stress.

Colony Home was awesome! When our kitchen flooded this summer we had no idea what to do. First we called Blackhill Restoration. After they dried us out and demoed the damage they referred us to John Flores at Colony Home. Oh boy did we make the right decision by calling him. He promptly came out and gave us an estimate and answered all of our questions, and we had alot He was as professional as could be and lowered our stress level by about half. If you are dealing with any fire, water, or storm damage trust nothing but the best to put your house back together. And that is Colony Home.
