STAY AWAY FROM CLEARWATER PLUMBING. I have been SCAMMED by Clearwater Plumbing. I paid $355.15 for the work which was never performed.

There was a water leak at the water meter. The work was performed by Clearwater on Thursday, 2/20. The same day I called the water company to inform them that I had fixed the leak. The water company came on Monday, 2/24 and noted that the leak was still there. Water was still flowing into the ground. Clearwater had a 10% off coupon on Angie's List and they did not honor it at the time of service. So I had given a feedback on Angie's List that Clearwater had not honored its 10% off coupon.

Larry from Clearwater came to my house at 8:30 PM and promised me that he will fix the leak the next morning.

Next morning Larry called me and said that "" I have read your feedback about 10% discount at Angie's List and that I will never come to your house and you are an A***OLE "". He continued swearing at me till I hung up.

I filed a complaint against him with AngiesList. Larry promised to AngiesList to refund my money. This guy is so shrewd that he send a photocopy of a check to AngiesList stating that he has refunded my money but he NEVER sent me the refund check. This was he was able to get my negative review removed form AngiesList.

If I send you a photocopy of a million dollar check then does it mean that I actually ever sent you a real check for a million dollars

I am getting the review reinstated on AngiesList and I have also filed a complaint against Clearwater with California State License Board.

We've called Clearwater Plumbing twice to come out to my parents' house in the East Bay for a clogged sink and a leaky faucet.

Each time, I called at least two other popular-on-Yelp plumbers in the area in addition to Clearwater Plumbing. It's generally the same routine - leave a voicemail if no one picks up and hope that someone calls you back quickly. Larry from Clearwater did so each time and quoted very fair prices plus estimated time of arrivals. If they have to arrive early or late, they're good about giving you a call to let you know.

Both Larry and Tyler are efficient, neat and generally put my parents at ease. Calling out a plumber isn't usually the best experience and I've heard a lot of horror stories. Not the case the last two times Clearwater Plumbing came by. Unless something changes spectacularly, they'll be at the top of our shortlist of plumbers to call.

We needed a Bidet toilet seat installed. Tyler was extremely helpful, professional and courteous. He not only installed the seat in no time flat, he was able to solve a low-flow issue in the shower as well. Excellent service, very prompt. I highly recommend Clearwater.

One morning I found a leak and had to turn off all the water to the house. Clearwater Plumbing came out and fixed it the same day. They showed up near the beginning of the time window they gave me over the phone, clearly explained the cause of the leak, and did a very clean, professional job fixing it for a reasonable price.

I had a rather complex drainpipe blockage, which I couldn't clear with my 50' hand snake. I called a few places recommended by Bay Area Checkbook -- one bragged about superior technology and quoted a price over 3x what Clearwater estimated (and charged).

The person on the phone discussed the problem with me intelligently; the person who came out to the house arrived promptly and did an effective job at a reasonable price: whatever the blockage was, he pushed it out to the street.

Very pleased with this company and will try to remember the next time I need help with clearing a drain (which I still hope won't be soon).

I talked with Larry over the phone to replace our leaking water heater. He gave me quote for both a 40 gallon and 50 gallon. I later called him about going with a longer warranty water heater. He researched and only recommended the AO Smith brand even with a shorter warranty. He arrived within the quote time window, completed ahead of schedule, and per his phone quote. I should note his quote was lower than all the rest I received even correcting for the lower cost water heater. Compared to other plumbers I have tried, I will be calling Larry again if I need help.

Setup: He will call you back and he will discuss his rate and estimate, which is reasonable. He works all the time which means he is typically available.

Appointment: On time or within a preset 2 hr window, shoe covers.

Work: Attention to detail, deburrs the copper pipe, leaves a caulk hole in the proper places, cleans it, proceeds with caution, doesn't break things, isn't afraid of getting dirty, explains his work.

Appointment #1: Reinstall leaking toilet.
Appointment #2: Install shower trim kit on problem faucet pipe.

He is now the #1 plumber on my list.

Larry responded to our call within an hour and arrived first thing the next morning. Our 20 year old toilet had multiple issues, leaking from the tank, the bowl and a bolt. It was also a non-standard smaller size. Larry located a replacement, had it replaced as well as a missing valve behind the toilet, the same morning. He is Professional, Responsive, Effective - we will not hesitate to call him again.

Our water heater died on a Saturday. I called Larry (Clearwater) in the morning, and by that afternoon had a brand new 50-gal water heater. We have used Larry for other plumbing repairs in the past, and have been very happy with his promptness; has always done an excellent job; and is very reasonable and fair in his pricing. Just a plus, he also loves dogs. I highly recommend Larry, and will always use him for all plumbing needs in the future.

I needed a plumber and my usual guy(Kratzer Plumbing) was swamped. Lee was kind enough to recommend Larry. Larry and his son came out and resolved my problems with the same professionalism that I love from Lee. I mentioned that Lee was the one who recommended me and Larry said that Lee was his old boss. That explains it Larry says he works in Los Altos all the time. Now I have two awesome plumbers(oh did I mention Lee and Larry are both hunks)
