Our newly built Lennar home is less than two years old. Casa Mechanical put the HVAC system. When we first moved in the Ac would not blow in the upstairs. They fixed it, but how could they not know that the AC was not working upstairs? We had them visit four times after that because we had issues with rooms that would be too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. None of the technicians were able to resolve our temperature issues. The last visit the technician closed some of the dampers and told us that this was all he could do. Three months later our motor for the fan/blower stopped working. We tried a different HVAC company and they said the motor was burned out and that the shipping bolts were never removed. The technician said that the combination of the shipping bolts not being removed and the dampers being closed more than likely led to the motor burning out after less than two years. I relayed this information to Tom Terra (service manager at Casa Mechanical) and he blamed poor quality parts and then was dismissive of the shipping bolts being an issue. There are big red stickers by the shipping bolts stating that the bolts must be removed before using the motor. Needless to say Casa Mechanical did not have the part and this all took place on a Friday. Casa told me the part would not be available for a week. Decided to go with the other HVAC company because they said could order the part to arrive by Monday and we got our AC back working after sitting through two days of 100 degree heat. As a note, I tried to get Lennar to help. This was the email I got from the Lennar service manger George Strmiska:

Good afternoon Mr. S,

It has been brought to my attention concerns regarding the HVAC unit on your home at XXXXX which closed May 26, 2020. Conversation tells me the system stopped working last Thursday, May 5, with failure of the blower motor. For clarification, Lennar's warranty coverage is 100% parts and labor in the first year, which expired May 26, 2021. Beyond the first year, parts may be covered through the manufacturer, labor will be the responsibility of the homeowner. To assert a packing bolt is to blame for the blower motor's failure has no credibility, therefore, Lennar denies your claim. Furthermore, Lennar will not be responsible for any damage or costs associated with this issue or its repair.

Sincerely,

George Strmiska

CASA installed our HVAC and Plumbing. Why LENNAR uses this company, I'll never know. Their quality of service and the overall job they did with our brand new home is ridiculous. The first year, we had our sink literally fall apart, and the drain fell apart. They fixed it quickly without any problem because we were within the LENNAR one year warranty. Now that we're in our 2nd year, we've now had our HVAC system completely shut down. We have no heat, emergency heat, or cold air.

I called them to ask for help and they reminded me very quickly that we are out of our one year warranty and everything will be out of pocket from this point forward. I explained what was happening and the customer service rep informed me of their very high diagnosis fee for the first 30 min and $22 every 15 minutes after that. WHAT?! That threw me off and decided to get a diagnosis from another company, which had a reasonable price no matter how long it took.

They ran the diagnostic and found a leak in our air condition, our coils shot, and electric wired wrong. He was nice enough to fix the electric so we can at least have heat for our baby girl at a reasonable price. The Emergency Heat finally worked. He then let us know what the whole fix would look like and it was at least $2000. What? He said, "this shouldn't happen so quickly, it takes at least 17 years for the refrigerant. I'm sorry this job was so poorly done, please let us know if you want us to fix it." He didn't pressure us into anything." They still haven't bothered us 2 weeks later.

I finally called the CASA manager, and boy was he dismissive, defensive, and condescending. After I stated my case, he said that the company we hired to do the diagnosis was a SCAM and that CASA prides themselves on their quality service and work. However, there are literally hundreds of homes with the same problem on every review site.  He defended their prices, and said that they need to send their own people for a diagnosis. I said that we shouldn't have to pay for the repairs 2 years in, that didn't fly well with him. There was no winning, because he chucked everything up to "human error" and I stood firm that we shouldn't have to pay for their human error.

So, we decided to reach out to the builder LENNAR and they were kind enough to pay for the diagnosis. CASA sent their tech rep and he found exactly what the other company found. A leak and a coil replacement. They already had their information but their confirmation cost LENNAR $120. Now that we know what the problem is, CASA has now told us that the parts are under warranty but we still have to pay the $650 service fee, on top of probably having to pay $700 for refrigerant.

As a consumer we should never have to pay for the errors of others, especially when you're buying a NEW home that has put you in debt for 30 years. That's why people buy new homes. Our plumbing is soon to go bad, and our HVAC is completely shutting down 2 years in.

Why LENNAR is contracted with CASA is beyond me? This is extremely sad. They should have at least a 10 year warranty, because sometimes human error shows up in time not within the first year.

I'll add or update the review once this is resolved.

We have a new home, still under warranty. Hot water heater went out. The CASA tech came out and fixed it as expected. He also tweaked a water temperature mixer and assisted with reducing our water pressure (which was too high). He went way out of his way and really helped us.

Five stars for CASA Mechanical Services!

Casa did the plumbing work on the home we just purchased. We have lived here for about 11 days and one of our toilets started smelling horribly like sewage. I called and at first they were not going to be able to come for 6 days (even though the receptionist tried to tell me it was 3-4 days). After some insisting, they came out next day and it was an easy, 20 minute fix. Next day, another one has the exact same problem. I call casa and now they cannot come out for 12 days for a 20 minute fix. In my opinion, this is unacceptable. In a brand new house we are having to live with sewage smell and avoid a whole bathroom for 12 days. Would not recommend.

Update: I had to call back because I realized we will be out of town that day and the person who answered the phone this time was much more pleasant and someone will be coming in a week. Not great, but better.

Another update: the owner reached out and has made it right, technician is coming out tomorrow

We have a new build home which had plumbing installed by another company. We have had Casa Mechanical come out to help with issues that have come up. Each time they have been very helpful and clear with their assessments. Today we had a technician by the name of Robert. He was very thorough in her search to find a leak we thought we had. Not only thorough, but very friendly and explained everything very clearly as I have zero plumbing experience.

My A/C stopped working late Friday night. I called the emergency number Saturday morning and it said to leave a message and someone would get back to me. 85 degrees in my house for all of Saturday and Sunday morning. THREE calls/messages and hours later no one ever called back. Luckily I was able to call a friend over and he fixed my unit. Highly unprofessional to never even return a call after multiple voice messages. Would NOT Recommend

As you can see we've had MANY issues with our AC unit. We built a brand new house and had the misfortune of having Casa Mechanical install our AC unit. We attempted to call tonight and have them come out to fix our unit but they apparently don't do emergency calls for "units that aren't under warranty anymore". Cool thanks for installing a crappy unit and then denying us assistance in the middle of the hottest part of the year when our unit isn't working. One look at the reviews is all you need to know about Casa Mechanical. Avoid at all costs.

Had a tankless water heater replaced on 2/25/21 after Austin's snowmaggedon burst the heat exchanger tubes, as well as my hot and cold intake pipes. Scheduled service on 2/22 with Joe P., who was incredibly helpful and professional to get his team out to help my family. Their technicians Josh and Joe K. made quick work of replacing the unit and pipes, completing everything from start to finish in less than 1.25 hrs. Great people, great service, and great price! Highly recommend CASA!

Had an issue with the hot water heater, I was thinking thermocouple since the pilot wouldn't stay lit. Contacted Casa and they had Justin out the same day. He diagnosed the issue and it ended up being the controller. He called in to parts and they had to have the part sent over. The part came in and Justin was back at the house before the close of business to make the repair. He was very personable and professional, thanks to all the folks at Casa.

AC and heat seemed to go out, and with the freezing weather blowing in I began to panic and emailed for a service. The response was quick and I was scheduled for a service the day after contacting! I had the pleasure of working with David who was insanely nice and respectful. I will be requesting him if possible if any other service is needed. He fixed my unit super fast and overall just made the experience working with casa phenomenal.
