I called David very last minute to help repair a hot water valve. We had a narrow window, and without making it work I would have had to push back a long awaited washer/dryer installation. I was very anxious about getting this all done while I was also busy at work and dealing with the washer/dryer delivery guys. David was friendly, informative, and despite being very busy came at eight in the morning to do the repair. He showed up right on time, and was communicative throughout the process. I asked David to help me replace an existing light with a ceiling fan. Mind you, I am a DIY-kinda gal and when he first quoted me $250/hr I was very skeptical....I looked on Taskrabbit and other sites to see if someone would be cheaper. It turns out that installing a ceiling fan in our 90 year old house wasn't very straightforward - there was a double ceiling, existing light was not actually attached to a beam, etc. David ended up having to make a large hole in the ceiling and other modifications to install the fan safely and properly. They also plastered/sanded/painted the ceiling and it looks great, like new! He was very professional and punctual. He & his workers were respectful of my home and cleaned up after themselves.

You can probably find a college student to help you with simple tasks for lesser quality & price. David may seem expensive, but you will be happy with his work, especially for more complicated work on older homes.

The following day I had to reschedule due to a family emergency and he was very accommodating and still managed to come on that day. They are willing to make that run to Home Depot to get supplies if needed and do a great job of staying in touch. Fast, quick, honest, transparent service with quality results.

Capitol Handyman came out for a quote and completed all the work within a week, the same week we initiated the request.

Completed a project to install a ceiling fan in a location that had no fan box or electricity. Required drywall modification and repair, running electricity and installing an outlet as well as the fan. The result was excellent and I'm thrilled to have our new fan.

Also completed two plumbing repair projects to replace a cracked PVC valve and a repair a leaking outdoor spigot.

Will contact again for future projects.

David and his team did an outstanding job repairing an enormous hole in my wall, which included rebuilding a light switch box and re-painting the area to match the rest of the room. He also did some light work in the bathroom. He was extremely responsive upon initial contact, and stuck to his original quote after viewing photos of the damage. I am so pleased and will certainly call upon him again!

Posted for my Husband: From the initial phone call to the handshake on the walk-away, I don't think this could have gone any smoother. I'm an average ""handy guy,"" but I also know my limitations. From the estimated cost based on emailed photos of the job to the pre-arrival, day of the job phone call, these guys literally nailed it! While their obvious knowledge and skill with the particulars of the job require mention, their strongest quality was intangible. This was one of those jobs that could have easily ""gone wrong"" requiring the more expensive of the possible fixes. These guys got in there and knocked it out at the low end of the estimate. They score high on the ""not trying to gouge anybody"" scale. No Nonsense, Straight-shooting Professionals. No reservations whatsoever about recommending them! Oh yeah, did I mention baby and pet friendly?!?
