First of all before I get into the story, like most of you yelpers, I like to see who has the best ratings and reviews. So it turns out this business was a perfect five star establishment, however, I also realized it can be quite deceptive (after the fact). For example, 76 of the 146 reviews were all done by people who wrote less than 10 reviews total. That suggests, they were most likely asked to leave a five star review. When more than half of your five star reviews come from such seldom users, that raises a red flag for me. Now let's get to the story and what transpired.
On Thursday, we got a text from the city of Austin water telling us our water have been running continually for 48 hours. When I went to shut off the outside valve, I noticed it was damaged and leaking slightly so I had to shut it off at the city meter which I gained access to. This began my search to see who I would have to come out and fix the problem. This five-star business popped up and so I made the call. They couldn't get to it until Saturday so we just turned the water on and off outside when we needed it until they arrived Saturday morning. I was told they would take care of the problem for $550. They spent an hour and a half digging a small hole and replaced my shut off valve and turned the water back on. So you think that would be the end of the story right?
On Sunday morning, a city of Austin worker knocks on my door and tells me our water has been running continuously for the last 24 hours. So once again, I shut the water off and call this business, which to their credit, they called me back on a Sunday to let me know someone would be by Monday morning. So yes, they did fix the slightly leaky valve, but they did not pressure test the line which would've easily have indicated the secondary leak just a few feet away where there was a very muddy patch of grass.
On Monday, as I'm about to leave for work, I get an email that allows me to track their vehicle in proximity to my home (this is a great feature). I met with one of the technicians and ask him why the line was not pressure tested and pointed out the muddy area a few feet away which was an obvious leak site. I asked him how much more this could cost, and as he looked down at the grass, he pulled a number out of thin air.....$939! I thought that price was a little exorbitant, considering what I had already paid. Once again, this took them an hour and a half to make the repair and the parts for both jobs could not possibly have been more than $50. So for a total of $1489 they worked for three hours to make two simple repairs. Which now brings us to their billing. On their two invoices, there's no break down of the charges whatsoever. Just a total price and a simple explanation of what they did. That leaves me wondering how much they charge per labor hour, no mention of warranty period and whether or not I paid for a second service call or not. Their charges and billing alone are enough for me to never call them back, but the fact they didn't do the job right in the first place only comfirms that decision. I do give them credit for their quick response time, the tracking app and for the photos they took. Along with the 48 hours of water that was lost (not their fault), I now have to dispute with the city of Austin the additional 24 hours worth of water lost (which is their fault) so that I don't wind up with a huge water usage bill. So ask yourself, would you pay for what amounts to be $500 an hour for three hours work and not getting it right the first time, thus costing more?

It was easy to set up an service date and time.
Mike helped me understand what needed to be fixed and what could be improved with my water heater. He was very helpful and I would highly reccomend Capital City for those looking for a plumber!

We needed to replace our water heater which died and also a toilet. Mike with Capital City came out quickly with a quote, and an appointment was scheduled a few days after. Gabriel and his colleague did the replacement work within a few hours. They did great work and we'll work with them again.

Jason from Capital City Plumbing did an amazing job of explaining what I needed to fix, he was quick and his work was very professional! Capital City plumbing has the BEST PRICES IN TOWN! Trust me I have had numerous experiences with plumbing companies that can charge up to $500 an hour which is ridiculous!
I highly recommend Capital City Plumbing and thanks again Jason!!!

Reached out through Yelp to replace our whirlpool tub. They were super responsive and professional. Anytime I had a question, the office got back to me very quickly. The technicians were top notch and did a great job, explaining everything as they went along. These guys will be my go to plumbers going forward!!

I had an issue that needed some exploratory work, and then fixing what was found. The team sent by Capital City showed up, listened to my issues, gave a reasonable plan with costs, and got to work. After 1 hour of digging, they determined the issues, gave me a a real quote, and did the work. They worked with me to set everything the way I wanted it (water pressure), and even cleaned up some stuff related to my neighbor water supply. The money spent was less than I expected.
Will definitely call them again if needed.

I requested a quote, they provided the price right away. The plumber came on time and fixed the leaks.

I would recommend Capital City Plumbing, they came and repaired my water heater on the same day and they are truly professionals.
I appreciated the honesty and knowledge since I had another company come to check on the heater and they didn't event take the time to look at it and just suggested I should replace it for $3,000.
Would 100% call them again for any other plumbing issues I have in the future.

Capital City Plumbing is a wonderful plumbing company. Gabriel Culiat would definitely recommend them to family and friends. The customer service is wonderful. I called on a Tuesday and had a plumber come to our home the next day

Ok, I own a duplex, get a call on Saturday morning (why doesn't this ever happen on a Tuesday?) about water spraying out of the wall in the bathroom (!) from my tenant. My usual guy just retired, so I gave these folks a call, and they had it fixed in about an hour at a reasonable rate. And my tenant said they were prompt, courteous, and professional. I love it when my tenant comes out happier after a crisis.
