Knowledgeable and nice! They were able to answer all the questions I had and completed my faucet installation without any issues.

We had a pressure regulator, new shut off, and an irrigation double check valve. They don't normally do irrigation work, but our setup was very non-standard, and I couldn't find an irrigation contractor that would touch it.
Our plumber, Jason, was a very good communicator and a hard worker. The got the job done, its been a few months and we've had no issues.

Having hired a few different plumbers we won't use anyone else. Highly recommend capital city without reservations. We called originally to rough in a shower remodel and then helped us with several other projects including water softener. They are great at communicating cost with clear explanation of what they are doing including timeframe. When you schedule a day and time they actually show up. Jason, our plumber, was very professional and explained things very well. I love that the owner and master plumber is very close to his business and stopped by when they installed the water softener.

Quick to respond and easy to deal with. My 15 year old water heater decided to call it quits and we were stuck without being able to run the dishwasher or take hot showers. I submitted a quote request over Yelp to multiple businesses and they not only did a good
Job communicating with me, they were able to beat some of the other quotes I got and were able to come out in a couple of hours. Jason worked very hard and was extremely polite and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

Update:

Down grading review to 1 star. Issue is not fixed 2 days after their visit.
After their visit My tenant later inform me that after capital plumbing left in the evening they attempted to use the hot water and the alarms in the house went off and they smelled gas. They shut off the gas and were so worried about a fire they wanted to call the fire department

I called capital plumbing all day the next day I left a voice mail about the site situation . I didn't get call back until 6pm but only to ask for payment. They then asked why I didn't call sooner to tell them about the emergency. I called several times without success. Then they told me they would get back to me to schedule someone to fix it that evening. It is now 16 hrs later and no response from capital plumbing. The heater is not fixed and may be in a unsafe state.

The owner responded to my review only to make excuses and ask for payment. As far as I'm concerned they haven't fixed the issue. Let's see if he takes ownership to fix this

We called Cap City about a leaky dishwasher. It was an excellent experience. Scheduling was easy, communication was great throughout. The dispatch app tells you exactly where your plumber is and when they will arrive. Our plumber, Nathan, was extremely through, knowledgeable, and efficient. He diagnosed the problem quickly, and helped us understand how to prevent future problems. He even went above and beyond to help us move the leaky washing machine to another room so we could treat the water damage behind it. Cap City is our go-to for all future plumbing issues

Did they fix the problem? Yes. Was I taken advantage of? Probably.

I was charged $890 to pull a toilet and run an auger down it and clear tree roots out of the main sewage line. The entire operation took 1.5 hours including a trip to the store. The only parts used was a wax seal and tube of caulk which is $15.

Even if they are charging me for drive time, let's say 2.5 hours of total time, and let's say they marked up the wax ring and caulk to $90, we're still talking well over $300 an hour for a one man crew.

That's not reasonable. This wasn't a weekend or after hours appointment.

But I was stuck with a house with a blocked main sewage line and I couldn't tell my tenant to just deal with no toilets or showers for another day while I found someone cheaper.

It was a bad experience.

In their defense, they did show up in the promised window, they did satisfactorily resolve the issue, and the office staff was friendly on the phone. But no one likes being over charged.

I am writing this review in hopes that other potential customers are made aware of Capital City (CC) Plumbing's business practices & don't make the same mistake we did. The owner, Gabriel, engages in deceptive trade practices, is dishonest, & lacks integrity.

I called w/ a complaint of low water pressure in our kitchen & master bathroom faucets, the two faucets that are frequently used in the home. Jason, the technician, very purposefully avoided checking the kitchen faucet aerator for sediment build up claiming he was worried he was going to break it b/c he knew that if he had done so he would not make much $ on a job that only required a simple fix (cleaning the aerator). When he tried to avoid checking the bathroom faucet aerator for sediment build up claiming he was worried he'd scratch the fixture, I was the one to have to inform him he could use a rag between his wrench to avoid scratching our fixtures. When I questioned him as to why the PRV would be an issue when the outdoor bibs were working just fine, he sent the other technician outside w/ the pressure gauge to check. Upon his return he revealed that the pressure was fine to which Jason replied, "This pressure gauge must not be working. We must have dropped it or something. I don't trust this thing." When Jason acted as though he was uncertain whether the root cause of the issue was sediment build up in the pipes or a faulty PRV, I asked him to do the less expensive fix first. Of course, he chose to change out the PRV first because that would make him more money & he'd still have to come back to fix the real issue.

As I was fixing to leave, Jason decided last minute to inform me that my homeowner shut off valve was not working & he'd have to fix that as well. He quoted me at $880. I was shocked at the price but tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. I informed him that I thought a PRV replacement should only cost about $325. He chuckled & stated that is not accurate & that he was replacing the homeowner shut off valve as well. The other technician, who seemed like he was trying to be an honest guy, responded that it shouldn't be much more expensive to do them at the same time because they are already digging. So I asked Jason how much it would be to just do the PRV to which he responded $700. I then asked for the breakdown of the cost b/c at this point I felt very skeptical of everything that had transpired. He said he could not provide me with a breakdown & that this was the price that is in the company's book which is contradictory to the statements Gabriel, the owner, made to me later that day. In the following days, after pressing Gabriel to give an explanation for the overinflated price, he stated the technician can charge whatever he wants based on the difficulty of the task. When we asked what the unique circumstances were at our home, he went around in circles & was unable to give an explanation. That is because he & Jason were knowingly taking advantage of us.

I called Proven Plumbing to ask them for a quote to change out a 1in PRV & home owner shut off valve & they quoted me $450, nearly half of what CC Plumbing charged me. After CC Plumbing changed out PRV & shut off valve & charged us $880, we still had the same exact problem, low pressure in both our kitchen & master bathroom faucets without any improvement. After giving Gabriel multiple opportunities to own up, I decided it was not worth anymore of my time & mental energy. He was unwilling to address our concerns of over paying for a job that did not fix our problem. So I called Proven Plumbing & the first thing he did was take the faucet head off the kitchen faucet (without any difficulty) & cleaned out the aerator & like magic our kitchen faucet was working just fine again. He then proceeded to do the same for our bathroom faucet. He completed his work in 10 mins & didn't charge us a dime stating the problem & fix was so simple. When I asked him if he thought the pipes needed to be blown out (the next step CC Plumbing wanted to take), his reply was, "That's a little extreme."
