Carolyn P.I submitted a request for an appointment via their website. Someone (I failed to write down their name)called to setup a visit. When no one showed up I called the office and spoke with Jen. She asked for my phone number and advised that I was not in their system. I asked her if she had a way to check their website for the request. She abruptly said no and did not even offer to reschedule. I guess they get enough business from Home Depot so mine isn't needed!
Worst company to call. Was called out to fix hot water heater that was under warranty. Did not look at the hot water heater before he tired to get me to agree to have other stuff fixed first. Was very rule when I would not agree to the price they wanted to charge. Did not even attempted to fix heater.
I was referred to Bynum Plumbing through Home Depot for a water heater installation. A while after the installation, I was contacted by the county for an inspection. They came out and said the work wasn't performed to code and failed the inspection.
We contracted with Home Depot (HD) for new countertops and sink installs. The plumbers from Bynum Plumbing arrived and began work. This was a COMPLETE DISASTER! The head plumber, was absolutely unprofessional, very negative about HD, and seemed to not want to do his job. We paid for the installation of 1 kitchen sink with garbage disposal and 3 bathroom sinks. The head plumber wanted to install the garbage disposal, but not hook up the electricity and said we could have someone else come and install the electrical cord since it was missing. I said absolutely not, HD is 3 miles away. So I went there, got the part, and returned while he was working on the guest bath. Then the technician insisted we only paid for 3 installs, not 4. We showed him our receipts which clearly showed we paid for 4 installs. He said we could pay him an additional $149 and he could install the sinks and we could ask HD for a refund. Really? He refused to install the 2 master bathroom sinks. We were forced to reschedule wait 5 days. The plumber then told us the Glacier Bay kitchen faucet was a cheap HD brand that HD forces on their customers and that we should have bought the Moen brand. He also told us that our faucets for the two master sinks were no good and that we should buy Moen brands. He left saying they had other jobs to do. We were forced to get someone else to install the 2 faucets. Beyond unprofessional.
Don C.I too was skeptical when I read some of these VERY old reviews, especially as it related to Home Depot/Lowes referrals. I needed someone to evaluate and repair a leak in my septic line. They were able to perform the job within 24 hours, they were punctual, and most importantly, they were honest! The job was completed quickly and for less than initially quoted! They also did not try to """"up sell"""" any additional parts or services. Top quality organization.
Samantha E.Referred by Home Depot for a toilet installation for my mother. Paid at the store on Saturday booked for Thursday from 3-6. They never showed. They never called. We called HD and shortly after 630. Got a call from an installer they would later tell me they had double booked, who said he was too busy and can't come. Then at 8 pm a text saying they were on their way. Never showed up. Called HD store owner - he assured me they were a large enough company to have more than enough installers to take care of this simple install. That HD could get in touch with them and if we could be available on Friday, he was confident they would be in touch to make it right. Friday comes and rolls into afternoon - no communication from Bynum about the appointment they abandoned. We call HD services escalation - on the phone with them four times as they call Bynum. No one answers their HD referral line. In an attempt to have a backup, we schedule as if a new appointment for Tuesday, in case they don't follow through on the Thursday appointment. HD says there's no guarantee that Bynum will show up or honor this alternate appointment, and if we want to take that gamble - it's up to us. Bynum was the no show. We said we felt we ought to get our money back and try to get something done. HD said they couldn't refund our money because it was with By in. A refund would take 8-10 days. After escalating things to corporate HD - who still can't reach anyone at Bynum, we get a refund. The store manager at HD sends communications by phone and email to Bynum offering to make things right and cover costs if Bynum will step up. No one at Bynum responds. I call Bynum - Amelia says it's not her company so don't say """"your company"""" and then hangs up on me. I call back, she doesn't know how to put someone on hold or ask, so she puts her phone on mute. I hang up and call back. Since it's the weekend and all the Bynums are on holiday there is no one with decision making rights. There is no one in charge for any way to rectify problems. I repeated this back to their """"customer service senior lead"""" three tie sto be sure I was hearing her correctly. The multi-million dollar HD and Lowe's partner, commercial and resident plumbing and septic company has no cross trained management team allowed to do anything in the absence of the owners. Then she proceeds to tell me that our installer was booked 2-4 and 3-6 and his 2-5 ran long. And they weren't aware of any job not being competed. There was no record two days later that this install wasn't done. This means management, scheduling, and billing aren't aware when their installers bail. Even with all this information their customer service lead says she doesn't understand what the problem is if we got a refund. I go through it again including the HD managers offer. She repeats there is no one with decision making authority. A multi-million dollar commercial and residential company has no one in charge to make decisions. Buyer beware!
Walt G.I was a little skeptical after reading some of these reviews, most of them concerned plumbing/Home Depot/Lowes customers and installation of water heaters, etc. I had them install a septic tank baffle after being quoted prices 40-50% higher. My tech, Eric, was on time, very friendly and most important knowledgeable on my situation. I have to tell ya I was a little worried initially but Eric put me at ease. Very satisfied with his work and the price i paid.
Had Bynum do a toilet install at my house and the plumber was top notch. He was polite, quick, and efficiently installed the new toilet. He even wrapped the old one in a trash bag to remove it just to be certain not a drop of water hit our floors. Very thoughtful and all around a good experience. Will use Bynum in the future.
I was quoted $325.00 on the phone for a Septic tank pumping. Even on their website it says $325.00 for a 1000 gallon tank with no hidden costs. The guys that did the job were great but they told me because it was over the lid it would cost $500.00. They said because it had not been pumped out in a while! When the worker brought me the paper it already had a price of $487.50. I emailed the company with no response! They did tell me my lines needed cleaning and that I could go through Home Depot to get a card and they would take that! Be very Leary of this company!
I was referred to Bynum through The Home Depot. At first call we scheduled an appointment to have a plumber come out to replace our water heater. I was asked to provide the SKU number for the heater that I needed and that i did on this very call. I was given a quote which included the water heater, plus the cost of labor, and we imnediately scheduled for the plumber to come out. I guess whoever took my info never documented this conversation along with the particulars of my choice of heater. In an attempt to resolve the issue it was clear that the after hours representative had no customer service skills. Never offered an apology and expected me to understand that her paperwork showed no reflection that I had indeed selected a heater. She fell a little short of calling me a liar then proceded to hang up the phone on me. Was I upset? I certainly was, but I refuse to give someone my hard earned cash if this is how I am greated even before the service has been rendered. Needless to say, my husband turned the plumber away when he arrived our door. We are not asking for anyone to walk the moon, just simple empathy, simple courtesy, accepting responsibility, and professionalism. I would not refer them to anyone. Definitely need some customer service training...simple business practice common courtesy.
