Recommended Customer Reviews

Every single time our home warranty company uses them we never get a call and they never call us back after leaving multiple messages. This results in our issues getting delayed and having to call the home warranty to assign a different company. I am not sure how this place is still in business to be honest.

I'm in the midst of a situation that is being poorly handled by both American Home Shield and Budget Rooter. We are 4.5 weeks without hot water and it's unclear who is more at fault. We are waiting for a new hot water heater. This is not COVID-related - this is poor customer service and zero accountability. The company doesn't answer calls, and when they do they are evasive. If you have the choice of who will fulfill a warranty claim for you, I don't recommend that you choose this company.

My home warranty company scheduled servicing on my behalf through Budget Rooter for an issue with my sink. Budget Rooter called and scheduled a window from 10-3 on a Friday to come out and look at the issue. I stayed home from work so I could be there. No one showed, and I never received a call from them to reschedule - despite the fact that I left multiple voicemails to see what happened and to get something back on schedule. Wtf?? It's now been 5 days and I still haven't heard anything from them. I NEVER leave negative reviews, but this is complete garbage customer service. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

If your home warranty company sends these clowns to your house, the most helpful thing I can tell you that is to ask your home warranty company for a second opinion before you give up on having your claim covered. I didn't know that until it was too late. I wasn't getting hot water in my shower so I put in a warranty request and AHS sent Budget. The Budget Router tech verified that my water heater was working and told me that the problem was that I have an old house with galvanized pipe, and the pipes degrade inside and debris from the pipes junks up the shower valve. But he said he didn't have the tools or the skills to work on my Kohler shower faucet, so the company would have to send a different tech. I said that would be fine. Then AHS called to say that because it's a flow problem and I have galvanized plumbing, the problem wasn't covered. So, I was sad and stressed and figured I'd just have to pay to have the plumbing fixed myself. Only Budget never called to reschedule. I called them twice and they never attempted to reschedule. So, I called a different plumber who came over, opened the shower valve and found construction debris in it. Not related to galvanized pipes. It took him less than 20 minutes to solve the problem. But because Budget sent an incompetent tech who diagnosed the problem without actually looking at the valve and told AHS it was due to galvanized pipes, the claim was denied and I am out botht he AHS service and the price to have a decent plumber complete the repair. In conclusion, AHS Home Warranty is a scam and Budget Router has incompetent techs and doesn't return phone calls or follow through on their commitments. Avoid both companies if possible.

i have a home warranty and they were dispatched as our water heater pilot light kept going out. the tecnician came out and wa sthere was less than 10mins and waas able to light the pilot and said our burner was dirty, the next day the pilot was out again. we have calle dthem five times and no response.
i spoke to two seperate plbing companies and they said the issue is the termal coupler and thats a standard issue, and that even if the burner was dirty it would not cause the pilot lightto go out, the pilot light goes out because of the termal coupler.
the termal couple replaced and no issues.
this company would not return calls and was just a waste of money

Assigned this company from American Home Shield. They never called me to schedule an appointment. They just showed up, and the babysitter let them in the garage. They ""verified the pilot light"" was still lit on on water heater and then said they'd fixed the issue -- Though if they'd return any of my phone calls they would know that was never the issue. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience. Stay far away.

I'd give a negative star if possible, worst company I've done business with. Sent by American Home Shield. Impossible to get in touch with them on the phone, don't return calls. The service person didn't show up the first day when scheduled. When he did show up to repair a leak under the washer he was in the washroom no more than 5 minutes and said it wasn't covered by my insurance as it was a drain clog. I called the Geek Squad to come over, no drain clog but a leak in the hose. Probably didn't want to move washer as it was a stackable unit , which I warned the company about. Now I'm fighting to get my $100.00 deductible back from AHS as it would've been covered if the repair man didn't lie!

Unscrupulous, incompetent, and criminal are good words to describe Budget. Same description applies to the home warranty companies that feed Budget. Both are a scourge to consumers.
In early March my upstairs bath started leaking through the ceiling and onto the downstairs kitchen floor. I filed a claim with American Home Shield who dispatched Carlos from Budget Rooter. When he arrived he was somewhat dismissive and said it was likely the bathtub stopper that was causing the problems. He replaced the stopper but didn't test things out to make sure that was the problem. He left. Later that day my kid tried to have a bath and water starts coming from the ceiling. Surprise, leak not fixed.
I called Budget again and Carlos came out again shortly thereafter. We demonstrated that the leak was still present. He said he would need to cut into the ceiling to figure out the source of the leak. Okay, fine. After cutting an access point into the ceiling, he briefly looked at the pipes and said it was a two man job that he couldn't fix during that visit. Sounded like BS and it was.
I placed multiple calls to schedule the work. No response. Stonewalled. Over a month passed and we still couldn't use the upstairs bath. Finally, I angrily called AHS and demanded they send out another plumbing company. Another company came out and fixed the problem in 20 minutes. It wasn't a two man job--that was a lie. The new plumber was able to fix the issue without using the ceiling hole that Carlos created.
Now it's May and I still have a hole in my ceiling that neither AHS nor Budget want to take responsibility for even though it's a covered item under my contract. I have called AHS multiple times and finally today they told me that they spoke with Terri at Budget who denied that anyone from Budget ever cut into my ceiling. Yup. A flat out lie. AHS said that they will need to conduct an ""investigation"" before they agree to patch the ceiling. Based on my last experience, they'll probably deny my claim.
Thanks, a-h*les. I will be filing yet another complaint with the Dept. of Insurance should AHS side with Budget on this one. Should file one with the contractor's licensing board too for good measure.

UPDATE
AHS sided with Budget Rooter. Shocker! No investigation was ever conducted. These two are working in concert to deny as many claims as possible, even if it means telling bald faced lies. Engaging in open and obvious criminal conduct with impunity.

Don't use this company if you are using Fidelity national home warranty. They are in cahoots together to rip you off of money and not gix It. they out a guy out who claimed we had a multi valve shower and it wasn't covered. cost me $75 for visit which I'm sure budget router split with the insurance company. Turned out to be a simple washer $1 washer that came loose so I know it was a scam. Don't use these people they will rip you off!!!!!

I have a home warranty through American Home Shield. I had a shower that was leaking. The company contracted with Budget Rooter. They sent a so called plumber named Randy out to my home for this repair. He spent about 15 minutes looking at the valve. He said this is an easy job. He went out to his truck and got the new valve. He couldn't get the old valve out. He was afraid the valve would break.
The company charged me $100 and never fixed the problem. The plumber reported to his company that this wasn't normal wear and tear. He left our home and never fixed the problem. He never even tried to repair it. The next day my husband sprayed some lubricant on the valve and pulled it out. Mind you my husband is not a plumber. Everything is all fixed now. NEVER I say NEVER use this company. They are crooks and their employees are not very knowledgeable Plumbers. I called the company to discuss this issue 3 times, left a messages and no one ever called me back.
BEWARE!!!
