""Budget"" is accurate. The cheapest job I've ever had a plumber handle.... because they never came. Maybe ""unprofessinoal rooter"" or ""non-existant rooter"" would be a bit more appropriate?

No call, no show, no answer on their phone. This company is a joke. I only had to use them because American Home Shield chose them. I'm pushing for AHS to drop them completely. Look at the reviews. Why would anyone use this company? I stayed home from work for no one to show up. I'll be honest, I'm pretty glad they never showed because I don't think I want these people touching anything in my house. My time is valuable though, and this company could care less. Value yourself and your time, go elsewhere. You deserve better. Your home deserves better.

SAVE YOURSELF TIME AND IF YOUR HOME WARRANTY ASSIGN YOU THIS COMPANY, CALL THEM AND ASK FOR A DIFFERENT COMPANY!!!

On 2/3/20 I reported a couple of plumping issues at my house and AHS assigned Budget Rooter. On 2/4/20, I got a call from Budget Rooter and scheduled to come to our house on 2/5/20. On 2/5/20, when the technician arrived, immediately he started stating that none of these issues would be covered by the home warranty. He said that our circulation pump is out and that is why we are not getting hot water, the mechanism on the hot water valves are not working, he smells gas leak and the pipe connecting from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal is kinked. I advised him to report it to AHS and that I was confident that AHS will cover it. He left the house saying that he will follow up and told me not to contact AHS until he gets back to me. That evening I texted the technician and asked if there were any updates. I didn't get any responses from him. The next day on 2/6/20, I got a text from AHS that MSE PLUMBING has been assigned to our ticket. The same day I got a call from MSE, they stated that they are not available until Wednesday 2/14/20. It has been over 10 days now and I am without kitchen sink, hot water and I have a gas leak.

I reached out to AHS to find out why, and they said ""Shower Valve - Budget Rooter has informed us they do not work on this type of shower valve so they were unable to fully diagnosis, which is why we had to transfer vendor to: MSE Plumbing."" How can Budget Rooter do this to a customer. This incompetent jerk left me with the impression that he is going to take care of it, and two days later I get assigned to another company that is 7 days behind. Now I am over ten days with an issue.

I am going to file a formal complaint with the state board to review these complaints about Budget Rooter and their license should be revoked so no other residence of this are to be put through so much stress. Shame on you Budget Rooter.

Completely awful! Do not do business with them. Look at the reviews. I was Using my AHS Warranty this company was selected. First they made a mistake and booked the wrong day. I called back left a message. They fixed it. Then they never showed up during my 8-12 window at 1215 I called. They are closed for lunch. Mind you. No call no show. Then I call ahs. They try to call them they don't answer. The ahs rep said she would have them follow up. I then got a call from a Shelly who sounded like she wasn't really with it. She said she was trying to reach the Tech to find out what happen. I simply said. I took the day off to take care of my plumbing issue and this was Really unacceptable. She then raised her voice and asked me if I ever missed an appointment. I told her of course but i would call. She then hUng up on me. Then I I called home warranty back. They let me know she cancelled the appointment.

I agree with previous reviews unbelievably terrible service. American home shield sent them to me (which will be getting a horrible review as well)

They don't answer the phone, don't call you back even with an urgent matter like we had with sewage backing up. It's like they don't want the job. Kept making excuses of how terrible my problem was, tried to get me to call the city to do the work. Forget it! I called 5 star plumbing and they came out immediately to start work, communicating every step of the way. I wasted the last week going back and forth with voicemail from Budget....save yourself the trouble do not use this company...

My toilet started leaking on Thursday, January 2. I contacted American Home Shield and they assigned Budget Rooter out of Citrus Heights, California (CSLB 1007353). The earlier appointment they had was on Thursday, January 9.

On January 9, a technician arrives, verifies the leak and diagnosis it as the wax seal. He goes out to his truck to get the part, and returns ten minutes later (after smoking a cigarette while at his truck) to tell me that he doesn't have one on his truck. I asked when they will have the part and return, and he said ""probably tomorrow"".

The next day, I dont hear from Budget Rotter. I call them to get status, but nobody answers.

By January 14, I still have had no response from Budget Rooter. I spend an hour on the phone with my home warranty company, and the warranty company tries to reach Budget Rooter too. While on the phone with the warranty company, Budget Rooter emails me with an appointment time that I am not available for. Finally after about 4 hours of leaving voicemails and then receiving emails fromBudget Rooter, I get an appointment time for Friday, January 17 from 2:00-5:00. .

Budget Rooter does not call or show up. I try calling them, but their office hours are Monday-Friday from 8:00-4:00. I call my home warranty company again and am told they will have a resolution for me on Saturday morning. Saturday morning - no call, no resolution. Call home warranty company again, and they say we have to wait to hear from Budget Rooter.

Over two weeks, and still no resolution. It shouldn't take this long for a basic repair.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

I have American Home Shield and they sent Budget Rooter for my water heater issue. I could tell right off the bat that the Tech Randy will deny the claim. Told me that he doesn't know where the leak is even coming from, they don't do hydro air furnace (my centralized heating at home is coming from the water heater), the rust on the side doesn't happen overnight, did I wrap up a blanket on the tank or did I even check the top of the tank as he said the leak has been going on for years! Ok first of all I am not a technician and so who does check the top of the tank? All I know is that the leak visually appeared to me last Monday at the bottom of the tank when I called in for request. I didn't have a classic symptoms that my water heater was going out too, no rustic in the water, never losing hot water etc. Also, I reached out to AHS for the rust issue August 2019 as I was concerned it might burst the tank and AHS told me at that time to not put in a request until I have visual evidence of a leak as the technician will not repair it.

AHS denied my claim based on Budget Rooters assessment of the leak as pre existing for years and years and if I want to get it fixed I will have to pay $1800! Because I had AHS since 2017 and continued coverage until it lapsed Sept 2019 because my credit card of file expired I was able to challenged the decision. I renewed my AHS 10/2019 and waited a month again for it to take effect and took effect around Thanksgiving and no leak still until Christmas week. So AHS offered to send another Technician from a different company for a second opinion. The agreement was If the leak started more than two years ago then I will have to pay another service fee of $125 and they will not cover it. If the leak started less than two years ago (because I had two years of continued coverage before it lapsed) then I will not have to pay another service fee and they will cover the repair. Guess what?!!! The new Tech came in diagnosed the issue so quick with no non sense like what Budget Rooter told me. No wondering where the leak was coming from and that the issue started happening about a year and half. Sooo, AHS over turned their decision and is now covering the repair.

By the way if I had to pay out of pocket I will still not go with Budget Rooter! I can't believe AHS still deals with them. Stay away from this company.

if you have a home warranty company and they send them send them back. do not let them service you enter your home. they are unresponsive, inept low class, incompetent, petty and just plain ridiculous they make money off off contracts whether they assist you or not. forewarned is forarmed. the low reviews all over the internet are not wrong.

American Home Shield referred Budget Rooter to us. Budget Rooter was prompt to contact us and was able to come out the following morning, Nov 12th. The plumber was at our home about 5-10 minutes inspecting the water heater. He told us we would need a new one because the water heater was 15 years old and the water is coming out extremely brown rusty when he turned it on in the bathtub. He said he would send report to American Home Shield. 2 days went by and we had not heard from American Home Shield so we called them and the told us they were still waiting on the report from the Budget Rooter, so we called Budget Rooter and they said it was sent and we should be hearing from American. Again, we wait a day or 2 and call American and they say they are still waiting on Budget Rooter. We then tried contacting Budget but were unable. Next day we call American, report is in.....We are not covered because it was reported the water heater needs to be flushed for $150, no mention of water heater needing to be replaced. I tried to explain that the plumber had told us, pretty confidently, that the water heater needed to be replaced. American said they would try to contact Budget and for me to contact them too. I told American I had already tried contacting them and I was unable to reach them. So the next few days I attempted to contact Budget, they did not return voicemails or their mailbox was full. Not once was I able to get someone on the line. It's now Nov. 22nd I called again and there is a message that they are closed for the thanksgiving. This is the Friday before thanksgiving, mind you. At this point I gave up. I thought it may have been a misunderstanding or some mix up in reports with Budget but was unable to get ahold of them what so ever. American did nothing to help us either. I asked American if we could get a second opinion so they sent out a new plumber who after a few minutes of inspecting the water heater and getting a water sample determined The water heater DID needed to be replaced. I understand mistakes can be made but not be be able to contact a business is absolutely unacceptable. So here We are STILL waiting for American to replace the water heater (almost a month later...that's a whole other fiasco). I've been heating water on the stove for my 3 month old baby so we can have rust free water to bath her in and using cold water to wash her bottles, clothes, etc. I would avoid business with Budget Rooter and American Home Shield. We will not be renewing contract with American Home Shield, the fact they do business with Budget Rooter is a good reflection their customer service.
