I needed a new water today and got fantastic A + service. They made sure to clean up and lay down floor covering to protect my hard wood floors. Quick and friendly service
They came out early the date stated which was good thus 2 instead if 1 stars. I wish I read others price experiences pretty sure it was not a fair price. The 79$ estimate I understand and that came off the total. After the work was complete, I asked several familiar with plumbing costs and admit I grossly overpaid. But the work was done.
Shannon S.Wasn't communicated with basically stood up the first supposed to show. Just wasn't happy, wanted 2400 just to remove a sink and faucet???? Came down to 1100 R you kidding me??? No thank you! !! got it replaced for $225 just like I thought... sorry I can't recommend...but your welcome for my $79.00 service fee, just to try and rip me off.
The main reason I am rating Brian Scroggins Plumbing a '1' is because, like another reviewer on here by the name of Ken, I was up-charged by Brian for the cost of a service that I did not choose. Brian showed me a list of various prices stored on his cellphone to repair a busted water line I had 2 weeks ago. I chose a repair listed at a little over $800 which was a basic repair (expensive but I had a water leak so I wanted to get the repair done ASAP). After the work was completed he told me the cost of the job was $1,408. I paid the bill but was not happy about it--He had done the work so I had no option but to pay it. After he left I realized he didn't provide me with an invoice or receipt, so I called and requested them. I wanted to see if there was a reason he charged me $1,408. I noted the water line repair was described as 'P15A Band Aid.' I called him to talk about the up-charge of $1,408 rather than the $800 option I had selected, and why the repair was described as a 'Band Aid' repair! I was also astounded that he had written on the invoice that there was only a 30-day guarantee on the repair! He responded by giving me a drawn-out confusing story of some kind and said that I had chosen the $1,408 option, which I absolutely did not. Bottom line is this: Since his prices are shown to you on a cellphone before the work begins, the opportunity of up-charging a customer is easy to get away with. I also had a leaky water spigot replaced which cost $675. He didn't switch the price on that part of it. Total invoice for a band-aid repair of water line leak and replacement of water spigot: $2,083. The guy was nice and polite and the water line isn't leaking anymore, at least not for now, so I am hoping that 30-day guarantee holds out. I don't like the bait-and-switch tactics some of these companies use and I feel I should forewarn others who may be considering hiring this company. Places like this give repair people a bad name. The owner himself was the one who did the repair and billed me $2,083 rather than the $1,475 I was initially told the work would cost to repair the water line leak and water spigot replacement. I won't be calling Brian Scroggins Plumbing again.
This is one company that deserves 0 stars. So sorry I called them. Owner doesn't listen to you and their prices and CS are ridiculous. They charge a $79 service charge just to come out. I know why...once you get his estimate you go..oh hell no. This way he at least gets $80 off every poor sucker that calls. Prices are twice as high then most every plumber out there but then he has you really cuz you already are stuck paying out $80 so he is like...what's a couple hundred more Remember the old shiester movies...this company is a shiester company.
Todd F.Our neighborhood recommended Scroggins - we did not have a good experience. They were two days late for the appointment (supposed to be a Friday, called after 5:00 Friday to let us know it wouldn't be until Tuesday). Its always fun to stay near the house the entire day to know it was completely wasted. Estimate was $730 to remove and replace a kitchen faucet, then he talked to the office and did it for $400. When he finished he let us know the hot water valve would need to be replaced soon (never leaked before). It started leaking later that night. After not calling us back for two days, they came out and charged $462 to replace the valve (took less than an hour). I would never consider this company again.
Ken S.They would have gotten zero star's but it would not let me. They came out to my house on Wednesday after my wife called and told them we needed our sewer line cleaned. My wife told the lady on the phone and the technician when he arrived where the clogs were since we have to get it cleaned every 18 months. The tech told her he would have to assess the situation. After running water and flushing the toilet, he came and told her that we had a clog at 50'. He showed her an ipad and told her these were the 5 options she could choose. The cheapest was 449.00, just to clean the line. The most expensive 1300.00, you got the line cleaned, a warranty(1 year, i think), and a new clean out. Well we had a clean out, and nothing was wrong with it. She asked the tech if she could take a pic of the options or if he could email it to her, she wanted to send the options to me at work, so she could make an informed decision. He said he couldn't do that, because it was copywrite protected(??). At that point she felt she was getting scammed and bullied. So she wrote him a check for the service call, and asked him to leave. I called and spoke with a lady(Jessica/jennifer?) in their office at 12:10 pm on Wednesday 2/12, she told me that she would check with the tech and talk to her boss and then call me back. I haven't heard back from her yet, and it has been nearly 2 days. Called another company they came out cleaned the line with no bullying or attempted upselling for 200.00. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!@
Had a bathroom toilet problem. They showed up did half of the job and saying that he didnt have the proper parts and wanting me to pay before he left. Left and never returned. Had to hire another plumber to complete the job.
In February of this year, I had Scroggins plumbing come for a problem I was having with sewer back up. They pulled the toilet inside and ran a snake through floor pipe, and they removed roots from the outside clean out. This did not solve the problem, so they had to replace the entire clean out pipe. They worked nonstop in the rain and fixed the problem.
I came home from vacation in July, and the floor around the toilet was soft and wet. I called Scroggins plumbing and had them come out. He gave me estimates to replace the subfloor, flooring, and pulling and resetting the toilet. He did not check to see if the toilet was loose, he just felt the floor.
I called another plumber for a second opinion. When they came, the first thing they did was check the toilet and said it was loose. They said it wasn't tight and had been leaking for a while. They tightened it down and told me I needed to get my flooring replaced. They asked how long it had been since the toilet was seated. I told them 4-5 years, because that's when I had it replaced when I bought the house. I had forgotten that Scroggins had pulled it to work on the sewer back up in February. I called Scroggins back and told them what the 2nd plumber said about the toilet leaking from the wax seal not being tightenet down. Scroggins said that wasn't why they came for the service call, and there was no way to prove that's what caused it. For starters he didn't even check to see if the toilet was tight when he came, and he did not stand behind his work because it has been over 90 days.
I was impressedwith the service several months ago when my hot water heater broke. The very fast response and way the tech laid out the problem and the options for me gave me confidence. So when my kitchen faucet started leaking, I contacted Brian right away. Again, the response was quick, the tech, Mike Cato, was knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. I won't hesitate to call them again or recommend them.
