I just used Mel for an emergency repair at a rental property I own in Rohnert Park. The water heater igniter had gone out and the renters have a young child, so I wanted to get it repaired as soon as possible. I found Mel on Yelp and called him at 4:30 p.m. two days before Christmas. Although he was very busy and getting ready for the holidays like everyone else, he called my tenant literally within 30 minutes. The repair was done correctly 3 days later after the replacement part arrived. Mel called or texted me several times along the way to give me the status and kept the tenant informed as well. Most impressively, he quoted me approximately $250 during our initial conversation and I told him that would be fine. When he billed me, he charged me $150 and told me he was able to get the part for free under warranty. Very impressive and very honest.

MEL was at my house a couple of weeks ago to fix my water heater - which he did. I asked him to give me a bid to install a sink by the water heater - which he did. The bid was $900 plus materials. I went out and found a sink and contacted MEL and told him I was ready to move on this - and all of a sudden the bid is MORE THAN DOUBLE what he originally told me! He now wants $1800 - $2100. I'm on SS and I don't have the $ he now wants. I am so disappointed and I'm embarrassed especially as I gave his name and number to friends of mine and raved about him.

We called Mel Bowers for a water heater problem and he was out the next day with the fix. He knew exactly what caused the problem, got the part and installed it within a 24 hour period. He took the time to completely clean the area around the heater and instructed us on the importance of maintaining that. He followed up with questions about whether things were OK and we couldn't be happier. Mel is obviously focused on customer satisfaction from fixing the problem completely to making sure we are happy. Mel did a great job and we couldn't be happier. I highly recommend Bowers Plumbing to anyone.

Mel is super nice and the work is done far beyond my expectation. our house had a shut off valve problem when we were trying to put in a new dishwasher so i decided to give bowers plumbing a try, they came over no so long after on the same day and wooala, problem fixed! I know what you all think when you hand problems with your pipes and stuff, you shop around and getting price quotes everywhere. I actually called multiple plumbers with different price quote, one thing i can say is Mel's price is gooooooood, trust me. you would not regret.

I was very impressed by Mel, who goes above and beyond to help customers. He does excellent work and goes the extra mile. He was willing to offer advice over the phone for free when I first had a plumbing issue. For a bigger problem, he came by and resolved the issue as well as providing some preventive services. He's a genuinely nice guy with an excellent attitude and work ethic.

Mel Bower is a great find! He has fixed an exterior pipe that failed during a freeze and most recently replaced our leaking water heater. Both times his service and workmanship were great. We will be calling him again next time we have a plumbing issue.

Did not call. Showed up at our apartment the night before at around 8pm claiming we called them for some sort or leak with our washer. That they had pictures and needed to take a look. Turns out a neighbor in our complex had hired them for a water heater issue and they had the completely wrong address. They did inform us that our water would be shut off from 10am to 11am which was no big deal. They left our water shut off for over 3 hours passed the scheduled time do to some type of claimed valve issue. Massively inconvenient and frustrating. Even though we didnt hire them, if plumbing issues did come up in our household I would look elsewhere just from this experience of incompetence.

On the plus side, when I angrily called to ask what the issue was they were quite polite. So while their actual work leaves something to be desired, their customer service seems to be in a good order.

These guys are awesome! So on The night after Christmas I had a pipe that started spraying water outside my house. Of course every plumber in existence was off for the holiday. So I had to call one of the big commercial plumbers. When I went to turn off my water at the main water valve I also found out that it was still letting through 10% of the water so I would need to get that fixed also. That plumber wanted me to pay close to $1200 for the work. So anyways I passed and just waited until Monday to get it fixed. I left a message with Bower plumbing and they gave me a call first thing in the morning. They came over in less than an hour and had already started to work after they gave me a great price on the work(close to 1/3 of the other plumber). While they were working on my main water line valve they noticed my wife's garden and offered to put in a drip line pipe for free. Also the pipe that had been the original leak lead to a faucet that was sticking out too far from my house and was almost into the bushes so they shortened that and added a new faucet for nothing additional. We have a moen sink also that faucet head was on the fritz and he showed me how to do a quick warranty call about it and they shipped me the part the next day for free. These guys took a bad situation and made it a lot better. Thanks bowers plumbing!

THIS IS YOUR GO-TO PLUMBER!
For years I've looked for a good, reasonable, professional, responsive plumber. This is that plumber. They called me back the same day, came the next day and fixed the bathroom sink that was clogged (beyond Drano treatments). The drain runs better than it ever has now. While they were here, they offered to checked the other drains in the house for me. They charged me exactly what they quoted me, were quick, efficient, and professional. They left the area cleaner than when they came, making sure to wipe the area down when they were done cleaning out the drain. I have their business card and I will hold on to this as long as they are in business! :o)

I would rate Mel Bowers higher than a five, if I could. My water heater drain had cracked and was flooding my home. He came over almost immediately and went to work. It was an old WH but he didn't lecture me, instead he explained everything in detail to my daughter, who was interested and in summary to me. It's an old mobile home and he had to take out the floor under the WH and build a new one before he could install the new WH. He stayed until 11pm in order to get the hot water working for me! Then the next day he checked all the faucets for sediment. His helper, Dan, was great too
