Broken Bathtub Drain...
We called Boudreau Plumbing and Heating after we read reviews on here and looked on the Better Business Bureau website; both gave good reviews. Val came out on a Friday (it was pouring rain) and he tried multiple ways to unclog the tub drain. He went under the house to see what he could do. The pipes are (were) original cast iron from the 50's and needed to be replaced. (bathroom has tub and shower, shower was mainly used) He said he would need someone to come with him to help and that he would come back on Monday. We set up a time, he gave us an estimate, his card, came back 10 minutes early on Monday and went straight to work. The owner came to assist him and both were very friendly. They replaced pipes under the house (waste and overflow), the stopper mechanism in the tub, cleaned up what little mess they made AND it was 100 dollars less than we were quoted. The quote was extremely reasonable, I might add. We will be calling again if we need ANY plumbing work done or if we need any heating work done. I would highly recommend them. Great work, extremely reasonable prices, arrived promptly, and they don't waste time while they work.

Grandpa (original house owner) has used them before and also highly recommended them. When they arrived, the owner remembered being here from over 10 years ago. :)

(btw, There is a secretary who answers when you call, and she is very courteous.)

I asked this guy to come out and give an estimate for a major plumbing repair. I can't verify that he said there was no charge for the estimate, but he certainly didn't say there would be one - or give any hourly rate for the estimate. So he came out and left me a bill for $250. On a phone conversation he alluded to some $3k worth of repairs being needed. But, get this, he _never gave me a written estimate_!!! I ended up getting Athens Plumbing to fix the problem for $240!!!! When I sent the bill back telling him it wasn't going to be paid (and exactly why) he called me directly. His 20 minute phone conversation first demanded that I pay, then tried to convince me that the other plumber's work wasn't good, then tried to shame me into paying. No dice buddy. You are nothing more than a con man.

FURNACE. I discovered our furnace was out on a chilly Sunday morning. After trying to get it to go myself, I called Boudreau. Paul said their Sunday rate was $250 an hour, and depending on problem they may or may not have parts on hand for it. If we could wait til Monday the rate was $125. They sent Stephen Monday at 8:30am. He checked everything and determined it was the gas valve. Alfredo came shortly with a new gas valve and pipe needed to plumb our old furnace up to code.
They were efficient and explained everything clearly. They fixed what was needed, nothing more. It was a little over $400, mostly for the gas valve, very reasonable.
Boudreau is first on my list to call when we get around to replacing the furnace with a more efficient model.

Bob Boudreau (the owner I believe) emailed me to apologize and explain that the day I called them was one of their busiest of the year, which makes sense since it was one of the coldest of the year.

For me, the true test of a business is not that they don't make mistakes because they all do... the true test is follow up. Though I certainly would have preferred they follow up with me the next day, I understand I fell through the cracks, and stuff happens.

So I will give them another chance, especially since I had a fine experience the previous time with them. Three stars because their follow up didn't happen until I wrote the review.

I called these guys based on the yelp reviews, about a year ago to fix a leaky shower. They did the job quickly, and solved the problem for about 10 months. Then the leak started up again. I had a different plumber come by, and he showed me where Boudreau may have cut corners, by using washers that didn't perfectly fit.

That said, they were responsive, prompt and helpful. So I opted to try them again. I recently had them out for minor repairs on our heating, and to fix a gas dryer. They did good work there.

Overall I think these guys are good, and I'm hoping their recent work doesn't fall apart in less than a year.

Called them on 12/29/2008 11am based on yelp reviews to fix two ornery toilets and one under-sink u-pipe that developed a hole. Intended to schedule them for later in the week, but they had someone available in 1/2 hour or the next day.

The plumber arrived when promised, had all the parts he needed in his truck, and didn't make any problems worse or create new ones. Oh yeah, he fixed all three issues and didn't make a big mess.

Minus one star because it took some time to fix one of the toilets, and in home plumbing fix-it visits, time is money.

I have nothing but great things to say about Boudreau plumbing. We have used them several times over the past 2 years in 2 different houses. They have fixed a HUGE disposal leak under our home, replaced our toilet, fixed out mainline and fished a toothbrush my 3 year old flushed down the toilet. They always come when they say they will and have been very fair about their fees. Paul, the owner actually came out himself on the day before Thanksgiving and worked on an emergency problem in our sink for us before we had a party for 70 people!

I have called their office several times and their receptionist has always been very smart and has answered my questions about whether or not I could even fix the problem. If she was not sure, she would have a plumber call me back immediately. I truly feel that they are totally honest and I highly recommend them to all of my friends.

I work as a family assistant in San Carlos. The garbage disposal sprung a leak resulting in 2 totally blocked up sinks and the need to replace the unit. After getting two astronomical on-site estimates from larger, well-known firms...at a cost...I got Paul Boudreau's name from a neighbor. Got estimate over phone, with two options, based on the disposal model I chose. They came in waaaay under the other estimates, were there promptly the next morning, fixed the mess, installed disposal and a portion of pipe that needed to be changed out, and were done in an hour. I couldn't have asked for more courteous, trustworthy technicians. My highest recommendation!

I used these guys because their sticker happens to be on my heating unit, which unfortunately lost the pilot light and I had no idea how to fix it (apparently they're named ""Boudreau Plumbing and Heating"")

The guy arrived pretty promptly and seemed a bit shy, but quickly got to work on my furnace. He also let me watch, which was nice, so I could learn how to do it again.

I really wish I just waited for PG&E's free service though; to spend 10 minutes at my house to relight the pilot light cost me $135, the minimum hourly rate. Ouch! They're great guys in a pinch, but really don't think I'll call again unless it's an emergency.

minus 1 star for not having the equipment needed so having to call other truck for the stuff... and thus taking longer than necessary?

I thought we had a pretty straightforward job. big back up!. I told them two toilets backed up and probably roots in pipe that need to be chewed up/snaked.

I called them instead of roto-rooter b/c of the reviews here, but I wonder if roto-would have had the equipment needed with them (they seem to have that on every truck) and thus done the job faster

they charged me for 4 hours on a sat at $375/hr = $1500. don't know if roto would have charged me the same but done it faster. They took all day 10am-6pm?

But they were really nice people. just wonder if they had used the ""big guns"" to start with and had it on their truck, would it have been faster. probably the same price as roto overall? but perhaps pipes not their speciality or our job was really big and unusual.
