I really wanted to like Scott. He's not a bad guy, but from my experience I cannot recommend him.
I had him install a tankless water boiler and heater combination unit 2 years ago. From there the problems began. My old tankless water boiler used a regular PVC pipe, and a Schedule 80 (grey PVC) is supposed to be used due to the hotter temperature the new Navien produces. I tell him to find a day and he can cut a hole in the ceiling so he can access the piping and remove the old pipe and put in the Schedule 80. He's totally unresponsive via phone. His voicemail (and he says in person) says to text him, so I text him. No response via text. Eventually with calling and calling after months I get to him and he says that he's traveling and to contact him in a week.
I call in a week and it's the same story, always busy with something. I get that people are busy, but pick a day months from now and commit to it so we can get this done. Eventually he does respond and says that it's fine how it is, and that he will be conducting regular maintenance to check on it and if something is wrong he'll replace it then. Fair enough. He seemed like a nice guy.
Summer rolls around and it's the same story, I contact him and he says he's traveling. I call once a month: May, June, July, August, traveling, really? Eventually in October I'm able to get to him and he says he's busy with emergency heating issues and to contact him later. Same deal in November. December rolls around and, you guessed it, he's ""away"" again. Tells me to contact him after the new year.
I do eventually get to him and we settle on a date, which is today - great. No show, no responding to calls, nothing. After two years of playing these games I'm going with another company to do the maintenance.
I can't speak with other people's experience, but for me, don't expect any support from this guy if he ever does anything for you.
My boiler broke and Scott worked on my project right away securing a boiler and arranging for prompt delivery. He was installing it as soon as it was delivered all with less than a 24 turn around. He was professional, honest, and extremely competent. He did the job right with out taking any short cuts. The job was priced fairly, at the low end of the expected range, and he delivered quality workmanship that was at the top of what could be achieved. He was delightfully personable and even called the day after to confirm I was fully satisfied and everything was working perfectly. He took time to explain to my wife and I all the parts of the system and how to maintain the system myself to ensure the longest life and least cost. He took care of my family and left me no doubt he actually did care about us. He was one of the best tradesman I have met. I recommend wholeheartedly without any reservation.
Scott is incredible. I had Scott and team come out to replace systems across three units. He took the older water heaters and boilers out, installed the new Navien combi systems, and cleaned up after the job was done. We noticed the pressure relief valve was a little leaky and Scott came out the next day to take care of it. He is responsive, personable, and fairly priced. Thanks Scott - we really appreciate the work you do!
Stephen B.I called Scott after experiencing some water leaking from the side of my very old boiler system. Within an hour he was at my house and making sure everything was working properly. Instead of immediately jumping to a boiler replacement which would have cost me about $8500, he told me to try a $4 hose cap to see if that resolved it. Scott is honest, personable and is going to be my go-to person for all of my HVAC needs.
They did an excellent job installing our natural gas heating system in a very short time frame. They have followed up and responded faster than any other trades people I have ever hired. They provide amazing service.
Scott Scipione is the most arrogant, deceitful and unprofessional person I have ever met. I know there are many of them out there, but he is the worse. I decided to give him my job because I had an urgent need to replace two units' plumbing/heating/hot water. I met with three plumbers, I chose him for a couple reasons. One, he had done work for my neighbor before and second he promised to get the job done within two weeks. His website states that no job takes more than a couple days and that he does not even ask for deposits before the job is done. I should have checked Yelp, not his website. On June 26, 2019, we signed two contracts for $25K, he took $10K deposit from me and my house key to come and go as he pleases. I was not staying there, so the man had 24 hours a day, if he wanted to work. Two days after we signed those contracts, he came to my house and removed all my old cast iron radiators. He also started doing some work on the first floor; I thought he was going to get my job done on time. I was wrong. On July 11, when I came by and I noticed he had done very little work, I asked to speak with him to get an update; I needed his work done to complete other parts of my renovation. That is when everything changed. He blocked my calls and told me he would only deal with me via text and email. He kept making promises to come by to work, but he never did. I went to my town inspector and had a friend reached out to him because he would not pick up my calls. I thought that would do it, he kept on lying. He finally agreed he was going to complete one apartment and told me to find someone else for my other apartment. I agreed. I took time off from work to make sure I was there, he blew me off and completed nothing. On July 22, I changed my lock and asked him to meet me. He kept up with the same behavior. He wants to come in whenever. I wasted so much time waiting on this man. He contacted me on July 27, I was away that week. He told was willing to come to complete the work. I told him when I come back I would be back to deal with this issue then. I came back on August 6 and when I asked him to schedule a time to meet with me, he stated via email that I was not that bright and that I was too emotional and mental. He stated that I have been threatening him and he was ready for court. He failed to adhere to his contractual duties. It is just unbelievable.
It has been over a month, my house has no plumbing or heating. He destroyed my house by removing ceilings, walls and left all his debris and stuff all over my beds, tables and floors. He put holes in the basement and did not ever care to cover those holes to keep outside rodents. He even accused me of stealing a boiler he had purchased for my second floor, my electrician saw him carrying it out to his truck. He was supposed to give me two rebates for $2500 each for my boilers/HVAC, I never got them. He took everything with him. I guess he figured he has made enough money from selling 13 big cast iron radiators and my deposit of $10K. You need to stay away from this unprofessional, incompetent person. I see some old reviews about how good he is; obviously he has changed his business practices. My neighbor too cannot believe it. I wish I had done more than just checking his license online and website. I am going to have to take him to court to get my money back. I do not want him anywhere near my home. This person came to my home and created nothing but mayhem. Just awful!
I had the boiler in my home replaced last summer with a Navien combi boiler installed by Scott from Boston Boiler & Furnace. When I was gathering estimates, Scott came to my house the next day early in the morning, which was much appreciated since I didn't have to take time off from work. The quoted price was extremely fair and reasonable. The installation itself was done over a weekend, which again was appreciated since I didn't need to take time from work. When the cold weather rolled around, I noticed a kickspace heater was not working. Scott came back to fix it at no charge, although it took several weeks to get him to come by (he gets very busy in the late fall/winter, and since it wasn't an emergency, I can't blame him for that). Would recommend, although with most boiler contractors, try to get your work done in spring/summer when they aren't as busy.
Great to deal with. Our furnace went, and needed to be replaced. They were a little busy, and tough to get a hold of at first, but worth the wait. The price was great, and they installed in a few hours. There was one minor follow-up issue with the AC, but Scott was back before I could blink to fix it. Would definitely recommend.
Back in I believe it was towards the ending of October. I was calling around to get estimates on repairing or replacing a oil furnace because mine was completely broken. Scott was fast at getting back to me and fast at coming by to see what was going on . With in a week he was at my house at working . He is a person of his word and responsible with his prices. He might be a one man show but he gets the job done. I plan to reach out to him on another project that him and I talked about. He also follows up with his work.. Thank you Scott!
Mariana M.Amazing service! Scott was Dependable and followed up on out boiler installation. Very kind man.
