Our pilot light would not stay lit, I thought it might be the fact that I can't reach the air filter to clean because of the way the first bonney plumber installed it, but it was the thermal coupler. First off I'd ignore the offer of yearly checking your plumbing, A/C and heating systems for the ""low price of $99"". They look at the problem then go back out to the truck to come up with how much to overcharge you. If that doesn't send you reeling(the price can go up by the way, if they hit ""trouble"")...then comes the ""well I can also replace this"", is it broke?, no, but it could go bad. We paid dear Bonney over Two Thousand Dollars for a water heater and all the ""code improvements"" less than nine years ago. The thermal coupler assembly part was in the truck. The part costs $51 at Sears(no doubt they pay much less), it took less than a half hour to replace and I was charged $344...and that was after a discount of $38. Lots of honest independent plumbers around that do decent work...going to skip the Bell one too.
Bonney was fined $12,000 by the State Contractors License Board in April for over charging. I think the only thing that has changed is their advertising blitz, showing the smiling couple, that are also on the trucks. The chief executive is not one of them, so don't be fooled.
On the plus side, the repairman was very civil, very clean and very efficient. He should go to work for himself and quit working for the Jiffy Lube of plumbing.
By the way, does anyone else think it's odd that the ratings are mostly one or two stars then a few five stars?

Be cautious when choosing to depend on Bonnie technicians for quotes and service. They suggested spending $9,000 on a new hvac unit when only a $200 part needed to be replaced. Do your homework before agreeing to use this company.

I live in Newport Beach Ca, my mom and dad live in Dixon. They called me to ask who they should call to have fix their heater, it went out on Sunday. They called around and could not get a straight answer on pricing. So I contacted Bonney Plumbing Heating and Air. They were able to send a technician right out, his name was Justin. My mom said he was fantastic he wore shoe covers and was very clean cut. He took care of everything for them. I am very thankful that I have found a company that I can trust to take care of my elderly mother and father. I just want to say thank you to the office and field staff.

I've used Bonney several times for work, as we have a couple of tenants who somehow always need plumbing work done. Whenever I call they're always attentive. I spoke with Erica a few times and she remembered me! One of our properties needed plumbing work as ordered by the City so Erica said I could email her the copy of the inspection so they knew exactly what kind of work the property needed. One other property didn't have running water so Bonney went out there to have a look and solved the problem with me! It is pricey but what else can you do if you've got a plumbing emergency and have zero experience with, um, plumbing?

I have used bonney for my heating and air, as well as plumbing in a few houses over the past several years. This is after another company had quoted me prices on things that need to be replaced... that Bonney said had no need to be replaced. They showed me the parts the other company told me to replace and they were in perfect working order. These guys will not screw you out of your hard earned cash!

They did a good job the first time, but the second they gave me a choice to pay them $175 for their show up fee or to pay $549 to fix a 2' exposed copper pipe. 30 minutes total. Get ready for brain surgeon rates from slick talking plumbers. I had respect for the company before, but their greed forces me never to use them again.

Bonney has been to my house many times, and I'm giving two stars because their work has always been of good quality. I'm afraid I won't call them any more, though, because they have taken to overcharging and up-selling in favor of just providing good service. Case in point: I had them come in to evaluate my plumbing. Their guy suggested descaling my tankless water heater for $500. He also suggested replacing my kitchen/laundry drain pipe, for $4,000.
I had another plumber come out for a second opinion on the drain pipe. He ended up replacing it -- for $950.
I also mentioned to him about descaling the water heater. He bought a descaling kit (and added it to my bill), showed me how to hook it up, and ran it while he was working on the drain pipe. He didn't charge anything for time or labor, and he left me the kit so I can do it myself in the future. Charge: $0, or maybe less for the favor. Savings: $500+.
So. An estimate of $4500 for $950 worth of work.
Happy trails, guys.

SCAM! Bait-and-Switch tactics! They used improper equipment to snake my main line (used a smaller snake on a 4inch main) and then told me it could NOT be unclogged and that I needed the $320 Hydro jet to unclog it! When I could not pay it, the tech wrote me an invoice with the cost to ""fix"" it, got back in his truck.....and DROVE OFF!!!

I called Independent Plumbing after that. Daniel was super pleasant on the phone and had his guy Justin out within the hour. THEY unclogged my main in about :60 seconds!!!!!! They were fast, VERY reasonable, and super professional!

DON'T USE BONNEY!!!!! THEY ARE A SCAM!!!!

I needed a new hot water heater. They were prompt at getting me the new heater installed, and it was done very professionally, albeit I did not shop around and thought their price was very high (which I learned later was). But, the technician was a nice guy, knew what he was doing, and it was professional work. Had problems getting the building inspection, but that is another story. The reason for three stars is their follow up with their BAM inspection program that I was ""qualified"" for since they installed my hot water heater. It's a sham. They came out for the first inspection and told me I needed $12,000 in repairs. $12,000!. Mind you, everything is working fine and my home is only 16 years old. Told them no thanks. Then, yesterday they call again since I was still qualified for their inspections, and told the nice lady flat out that this was a sales tactic and was not done for my best interest. I suggest you stay away from this company unless you want to tolerate the continued sales pitches.

Contacted Bonney to repair our A/C unit which was not working. Technician arrived and diagnosed our unit as needing $3673.00 in ""needed"" repairs. Then a salesman showed up to tell us that the whole unit needed to be replaced for between $7800.00 and $9500.00 tried to get us to sign up for financing that would have put a lien on our property. in short contacted another company for a second opinion $420.00 for a new fan motor. the other parts that needed to be replaced to get the A/C unit ""up and running"" were working just fine and did not need to be replaced.
