Contacted Blitch to repair my kitchen faucet. I had the part needed to be replaced, but did not have the correct tool to fix it. On the website it states that they charge by the job not by the hour. Not only did they not have the correct tool, they charged me $112.00 for not being able to fix it. I went to Ace hardware and for under $10.00 bought the tool needed and fixed my faucet. Lesson learned I guess they fell off Angie's list after 2012

I had several requests for services and some major issues at my condo. I gave them the list over the phone. I requested someone with lots of experience to come and evaluate and give me pricing for new plumbing, toilet repair or replacement and a new hot water heater. I live out of town and made a special trip for the visit. A young and seemingly inexperienced technician arrived. Most responses I received were """"maybe this and maybe that"""". When it came to pricing I was told an estimator would need to come out. He did fix a leaking shower. He attempted to adjust the toilets so they would flush better. That did not work. One toilet ran and my water bill more than doubled while I was away the next month. I received a call 3 weeks later with an estimate for the hot water heater of 2300$. I asked about the cost to change out my polybutylene pipes. Is been 6 weeks and I never received followup. Very disappointed as they were highly recommended.

BEFORE YOU HIRE THEM . . . ASK ABOUT THEIR DIAGNOSTIC FEE! On Monday, June 4, 2018 Blitch Plumbing sent a guy out to my MtP home to fix a leaking supply line. He charged $245 for just walking through the door . . . CALL IT A DISGNOSTIC FEE . . . all other plumbers that's I have used, there are many, as I'm in the property management business, refer to this as a SERVICE CHARGE and usually it is $65 to $85. As I had made a special trip from OOT to have this repair done I had no choice but to agree to pay it. I showed him precisely where he needed to cut the sheetrock to locate the leak . . . Which took less than 5 min to set his ladder, cut hole in sheetrock and spot the leak. This guy was nice but . . . LACKED EXPERIENCE . . . he was preparing to do damage to the subfloor of my bathroom by cutting into it to access the leaking pipe. I flatly refused to allow him to cut into the floor that supported my bathroom fixtures and showed him how the leaking pipe could easily be accessed from the adjacent wall of the attic space above the garage. Had he been experienced, he would have looked for and noticed that the ceiling of the adjacent garage wall was also discolored and suggested it too was affected by same water source or he would have gone into the attic to seek access. The leak was diagnosed and repaired (I hope it was repaired) in less than 1 hour. The total cost for the job was $434.00. Their TV ad says they don't charge by the hour but by the job . . . In my situation had they charged by the hour . . . THE HOURLY RATE WOULD HAVE BEEN $434.00! This repair bill including the service charge should not have exceeded $125 to $150.00.

Blitch Plumbing came to our downtown home to perform our annual inspection of our back flow. They inspected and passed our back flow unit and charged us $80.00. The city of Charleston SC inspected the exact unit and it failed the test. We called Blitch back and they came out and charged us $285.00 to bring the back flow up to code (remember they passed us a few days earlier) which required copper pipes instead of PVC. Within weeks our sprinkler heads would not shut off. We called Blitch back and they came back and looked at the unit and said everything was fine. Well it wasn't. We called another sprinkler maintenance company and they came by and inspected the system. It ends up when Blitch fixed the back flow, they allowed dirt to get into the PVC lines and the diaphrams in the sprinkler valves couldn't seal. Another $200.00 and a line flush fixed the problem. I wouldn't recommend Blitch. They don't accept responsibility and pass the buck but they sure will cash those checks!!!

My experience is very similar to what Sam C. wrote a couple months ago (see review below). I called them to look at a leak, and was charged over $300 just for an estimate. That is the highest cost for an estimate I have EVER been given (most people I have worked with give estimates that are free, or nearly so) and they did NOT tell me the charge up front. I wasn't given the price until the guy was standing on my front porch giving me the hard sell. By then, I had been waiting almost a week for them to show up, had arranged time off work, and was living with a soggy front yard. He said the estimate was so high because he would have to dig around tree roots to access the meter, and that the $300 would be deducted from subsequent repair work so it wouldn't matter anyway. Both turned out to be untrue. The meter was just below ground, and took just 15 minutes to check. The leak was on the city's side of the meter, so there was no repair work to do either. When I mentioned that $300 was a lot of money to read a water meter, I expected the guy to agree and work with me on price, or perhaps contact a manager. Instead he basically said that if I didn't pay he would send lawyers to sue me. I should have read the Yelp reviews first - the only positive review for this company comes from Jason H., whose work was done by a competitor, not Blitch themselves.

I had an excellent interaction with Blitch Plumbing. They were actually used as quotes from 2 different companies that were giving estimates for generator instal for my house. Steve, the Blitch associate who came to install the natural gas line for my generator was great. He was kind, knowledgeable, and explained everything that he would be doing that afternoon. My neighbor was equally as pleased with his work. I would recommend this company without reservation

Remodeled daughters house in IOP last year. Got several quotes and Blitch was in the middle. This was a re-pipe, (4) new bathrooms, configurations and new kitchen. We stayed there for first part of remodel and Blitch was very patient with us while we waited until the last possible moment before we moved to a waiting rental to finish rough-in. We had a few hiccups but Jay was right there to take care of them. They had the staff needed to cover and we could not have maintained the schedule we had without them. Also the bill was same as agreed to months earlier. Got the kids back in the house for xmas and our new grandson arrived shortly there after. Our many thanks!!!!

We had a leak that caused significant water damage to both bathrooms of our home, making it unlivable and putting us in a hotel until the bathrooms are repaired. I explained that we do not live here full time, and we would be leaving in 5 days. The rep said the soonest they could get anyone to come look at it would be in a week. Not very helpful, and absolutely no effort made to find a solution. Didn't even recommend another plumber to call in the meantime since they weren't willing or able to come sooner.

They will GOUGE you on the weekends. $150.00 for a $25 part for a toilet. That was just one part the total bill was over $300.00 way more than a new toilet cost.

Felix did an amazing job! He took the time to explain the problem and diagnosed the best and most cost effective way to fix it. I would highly recommend their services!
