The flat rate pricing Black Diamond uses can be beneficial for some but not others. We had a garbage disposal removed and replaced and the total cost was $615 (after a $30 coupon). That did include parts, labor and the service call. The diagnosis alone is $125 whether you have the work performed by them or not. Nice, professional people to deal with but I feel $615 for approximately one hours work was a bit exorbitant. An hourly labor rate would no doubt have benefited us.

They were professional and courteous, on time and even called to say they are on the way. Fixed the issue and also check into why it happened. Price was very fair and gave us a prompt quote for other work we wanted to get done. Will use again!

I've had the guys out for two different items in the last 4 months. Both items were addressed very well. Guys were on time, clean and very courteous. I felt the services were a bit on the higher end from a cost perspective.

They're the best in the area for heating/cooling snd plumbing.

I had them install s new water heater and a/c in my home. Everything was flawless and professional. They've also services my furnace and added a humidifier to it.

Their pricing is on the high end, yet still competitive.

But, you get what you pay for. And they're worth it.

It's never fun when you need a plumber in a pinch. Every time we do we call Black Diamond. They are professional, neat, clean and reasonable. The plumbers are knowledgable and even gave us ideas about what to look out for in the future

A few years ago I worked with them. They were horrible and kept products ( a vent for kitchen) that was paid for and also did very poor work (electric and plumbing. I also had a instant hot water tank installed.
Cost Thousands..
Fast forward 7 years later. I was giving them another chance.. the house where work was done was a rental.. I was renting this home to a tenant.. I paid to fix a lot of bad plumbing and electric issues that Black Diamond installed.

Well the hot water wasn't working. Called them as they installed... well, they couldn't fix (wanted me to replace).. then the village got involved and said it was installed wrong !!!

They actually said they would fix but I had to pay for material. 2000 to fix their mistake.. I decided to remove it and put a new tank heater in for 1000.

They tried to way over charge but they came close to home Depot ... so I went with them...

I told them to LEAVE THE INSTANT HOT WATER TANK IN THE BASEMENT. ( I can sell it for a few hundred )

Well... they did job with no permit. Then I found out the didn't put shut off valves on it. Bad install job...

I called to make sure they left unit in home and they said they did. As my Tennant moved out later that month and she cleared her junk from basement I realized they never left and took my tank.

They actually stole my instant hot tank when I told them to leave it and they said they did..

Truth is they TOOK IT. I called police and they told police yes they took it.

I left 3 messages and talked to manager..

I never got anything back response or tank.

So, bad work, bad service, a waste of a install that was installed wrong from the start. A waste of time and they took my old tank when I said leave it.

Not worth my time taking them to small claims court..

Just make sure you go with a different company. Do NOT TRUST THEM... my experience was horrible...

I'm very forgiving and I understand mistakes happen. ... but this was way out of control.

Ohhhh. She made my tenant so mad about hot water issues , she didn't pay rent and that cost me 1500... I had to evict her.

I hired Black Diamond to do a repair job on a floor drain that was backflowing into the basement. Prior to the technician arriving, I cleaned up all of the water and debris that had already flowed into the basement, shut off the water, and made sure that everyone in the house knew not to flush any toilets. I had to leave to go out of town that morning, so my sister in law stayed at my house to let the technician in.

The tech proceeded to clean out the sewer, and then texted me a picture of the inside of the pipe. Looked like any other pipe to me, but he told me that the picture showed that I needed $5,000 worth of work done, and that if I didn't then the drain would be flowing back into the house within a matter of hours. My sister in law then told me that he wouldn't leave her alone trying to tell her that she needed to tell me that I needed to get the work done as well. He told me that something in the pipe (that I couldn't see) was causing toilet paper to get caught and plug the drain. He said that the problem had been around for a long time because it had washed away a lot of dirt around the pipe, which was visible from the front of my house. I mentioned to him that we had never had the issue before, and that I was thinking that the reason might have been that we had a large party the night before, and there were roughly 25 kids under 7 years old running around the house, most likely using the bathroom and probably using a huge amount of toilet paper, and that might have helped in causing the problem. He quickly brushed off that suggestion and again told me that I needed to spend $5,000. Since I was skeptical, I told him that I would wait and see and shop around for pricing elsewhere (which, by the way, was SUBSTANTIALLY less for the same work).

Apparently he didn't like being told no, because when I got off the plane that afternoon, I had a call from my wife telling me that the tech had left everything that he had pulled out of the floor drain just sitting on the floor. She had spent the afternoon cleaning up piles of human waste off of the floor. I called the office to tell them what had happened, and they told me that I would be receiving a call back from the supervisor that night. I never received a call back. They emailed me the next day asking me to review their service, and I gave an honest review. I was quickly contacted regarding my review, and I told them that, on top of everything that was left at the house, I never got the call back that I was expecting. The person I was speaking with looked up the account and said that she didn't even have a record that I had ever called the night before, and that no one had ever asked the supervisor to call me back. Whoever I spoke to had just blown off my call. When I finally did get a VERY rude call back from the supervisor, I was told that everything was there when they arrived (even though, like I mentioned, I had personally cleaned everything, turned off the water, and the only person at the house did not flush the toilet). I was told that they had shown it all to my sister in law (I asked her about it, and no one had shown her anything), and that they were not responsible. That was it. No apology, no discount, nothing. Just them saying that they found it that way, so they weren't gonna clean anything up.

On top of all of that, it's been more than a week since the tech told me that if I didn't spend $5,000 that I would have water coming in again within a few hours, and the basement has been bone dry, even with 7 people living in the house, showering, bathing, and flushing like normal. It looks an awful lot like Black Diamond tried to prey on my situation. I wasn't home to check things out for myself, so they tried to scare me into spending thousands of unnecessary dollars with them.

UPDATE- It's been a month, and the floor drain is still bone dry. Now that the weather is getting nicer I went to go do some cleanup in my yard, and I found that the plumber had used some spray paint outside to mark the location of the drain pipe in the yard. Except that he also decided to spray paint the side of my house and my landscaping pavers. So I have a more permanent reminder in the form of pretty much a bunch of graffiti on my house that Black Diamond is a really bad company.

Black Diamond was on time, professional, friendly and completed the electrical work well. They are a bit on the pricey side, but I trust them to get the job done right and without any issues. I will use them again.

we had to have pipes replaced in our very old home. front lawn and basement ended up having to be torn up. everyone was very nice, explained everything clearly and the work was done in just one day. they did a great job.
