Had a great experience getting our sewer lateral inspected and replaced by the team at Beyond Plumbing. The owner (Tony) helped us get scheduled right after the holidays, with only a couple weeks of lead time. His crew was awesome -- super friendly and organized, and completed everything on time with no problems with EBMUD and city inspections.

Our property is steeply sloped in the Oakland Hills, with a backyard that's difficult to access. The Beyond Plumbing team went the extra mile to deal with getting their heavy equipment into this difficult area, and even ended up replacing our city sewer connection (which is not normally required for sewer lateral compliance) at no cost to us, which is normally a $550 job. Because that cost wasn't in our original estimate, we were not charged -- really generous of them, and is a reflection of the ethical character of the owner.

This is great local business and I would recommend them to any new homeowners in Oakland who need to get a sewer lateral compliance certificate. We will be going back to them in the future if we need other major plumbing work. Thanks Tony!

This is the third house over the last few years where Beyond Plumbing has handled the sewer lateral. I've gotten bids from realtor recommended plumbers that were never competitive with Beyond Plumbing. Beyond Plumbing is always reliable and we've passed inspection every time. One house I sold was bid by someone else at $6000 yet Tony at Beyond Plumbing said it would pass without replacement and sure enough it did. Yay! Several thousand dollars saved on that one.

The last house I sold did need a sewer lateral replacement. Unfortunately as of July Oakland has a new sidewalk requirement that it needs to pass inspection also. Well, Tony came through for me again. Between asking him to come out and passing both the sidewalk and sewer lateral was a matter of days. My certificates were in hand a week before closing. I don't know what I'd do without Tony. He and his team have come through for me time and time again. Thanks Beyond Plumbing you're now my one stop shop!

We hired beyond plumbing for our Private Sewer Lateral inspection. We had a few quotes and inspections from different plumbing companies all saying that the system needed replacing and that it would cost us at least $11K to replace the system and pas the test. These guys inspected our system and assured us that most likely and in their expert opinion the system would pass as it didn't look that old. And they were correct!! They did all the work and arranged for the inspection and it past! They were really honest guys and got the job done for a fraction of the price. We are so extremely grateful for their work, honesty and the fact that we past, saving us many thousands of dollars!
They are also very friendly and punctual!

I recently needed my sewer lateral replaced and called around to a few companies for quotes; Beyond Plumbing wasn't the cheapest but I'm so glad I ended up going with them. They didn't just do the minimum work required to pass inspection but really went above and beyond to make sure the work they did is quality and will hold up over the years. Miguel was really great to work with, very flexible - I was very anxious to get this done because of some sewer issues I was having and he was super understanding and managed to fit me into their schedule earlier than expected (within a week or so). There were some complications in the work but Beyond didn't add any additional fees or charges to the original estimate (I would have understood if they did).

If I could give any constructive feedback it would be to work on communication - a couple times I was promised calls or emails on specific days which didn't happen and similar issues - really not a big deal but something that could be worked on. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to work with Beyond again or to recommend them.

I recently had my sewer lateral replaced by these guys. Tony and his staff were professional, knowledgeable, and patiently addressed my questions and concerns before the work started, while work was in progress, and afterwards. They finished the job in two and half days, even though the weather was cold and rainy. I received the compliance certificate in the evening of the third day.

before the work started I had a different plumbing issue re lack of hot water, and Tony referred me to a friend of his who fixed the issue in less than one hour.

I rarely give 5 starts to people, but highly recommend these guys.

We used Beyond Plumbing to have our Private Sewer Lateral (PSL) replaced in our house in Oakland. It was an absolute pleasure to work with Tony and his team.

We faced a couple of tricky situations: the city started paving the street just as we started. Tony was able to shuffle jobs around to complete the street portion just before the city laid down asphalt :-). Kudos to the team for their cooperation and efficiency! They're easy - and efficient - to do business with and they'll be my first choice for any future work!

Before choosing a company to replace my sewer lateral, I researched 20+ options on Yelp and had 3 of them come out and give estimates. Of all the plumbers I interacted with, Beyond Plumbing was the best by far, and they lived up to this throughout the whole process.

Miguel, Tony, and the whole crew were polite, professional, punctual, and very easy to communicate with. Miguel always answered his cell and knew exactly who I was and what the status of my job was.

Even when some underground surprises were discovered, they got the job done on time and without tacking-on any surprise charges. They handled the inspectors smoothly and gave me confidence that it would pass the tests without a problem.

We've had a stellar experience with Beyond Plumbing for a private sewer lateral job in our new home. The crew was responsive, respectful, took time to walk us through the work they would do and within what time frame. Their estimate seemed high at first, but once they reviewed the details of what the work would require, it was actually a very fair price.
Miguel was our main point of contact. He and Lorenzo came on time, were in touch with me via mobile along each step, and were even mindful of my neighbors. They finished a very complicated job in 2.5 days and left the house grounds in tact as it was before they did the work. They also found they needed to do a bit more in order for my PSL to pass compliance with EBMud. They did what was necessary and we now have a positive certification.
My final touch point was with the owner, Tony, and he was as responsive and easy to work with as his crew. I am now going to save them in my contacts as a go-to, in case we have further plumbing needs.

Tony's crew was fantastic! A very polite, personable and hard working team. They replaced our lateral and a complex underground junction of 4"" cast iron and clay pipes that terminated under our driveway. I inquired with his crew about the details of what they were doing and they were very polite and accommodating with explanations of work performed and why. They left the job site cleaner than when they arrived. Also they were very kind to my little terror terrier dog.
