Recommended Customer Reviews

Do not use this company for service or installation of your HVAC system. In San Antonio, use ANY OTHER company, there are plenty of much better options out there.
Beyer Boys is a complete rip off! Simple repairs = astronomical costs!, company and technicians only interested in raking in $, and promoting annual service plan. Technician disingenuous. Customer service very slow to respond in answering questions about billing.
This job was for a simple solenoid failure on the AC unit with a total cost of over $900!
The basic 50mf/ 440v solenoid replacement cost $318. Also replaced were the hard start saver $317. and a "2 pole electric connector" at $291. Later after we finally got the itemized receipt (which required several calls to the company before any receipt was emailed), I looked up the cost of these parts. (to buy OEM parts for this unit, they would be less than $30, $135, and $15 respectively).
I don't think the technician took enough time to explain the issue with the HVAC unit that needed repair. I think that he replaced more components than were needed to solve the problem. I also felt he was more interested in trying to sell me an annual maintenance plan than addressing the service issue at hand. He kept trying to sell me the annual maintenance plan. After he was working on the unit I asked him if the solenoid replacement alone would have fixed the unit and he said yes, but then also encouraged me to have the maintenance plan. He hinted again that we should have the annual maintenance plan, in saying that the coolant level was low "so the system might not cool as well as expected" That is actually not an issue at all with our HVAC.
After the bill of $916.80 was paid for this very basic problem, which took less than one hour for the technician to fix, we never received a bill in the email. I had to call the company to request a bill. They finally emailed the bill, but it was not itemized at all, it just listed the items repaired and the total charge. I called again and requested that they please send me an itemized bill, including the parts cost and labor costs. This time I received an email with the costs as I stated above, but again no separation of parts and labor costs. I called again and asked to get the full b breakdown, but still have not heard back from them.
The technicians behavior, the exorbitant charge, the failure to promptly send a receipt, and then once a receipt was received, the additional phone calls to get an itemized receipt, and also to request a breakdown parts vs. labor all makes this feel like a RIP OFF SCAM. If the exorbitantly high cost was the result of some sort of emergency labor fee or something like that I would understand that, BUT BECAUSE OF THE LACK OF TRANSPARANCY, I am left with the impression that this is a serious rip off, and deception in business practice. The behavior of the technician also made the service call feel deceptive, because of the focus on promoting the annual service plan.
PICK ANOTHER HVAC SEFVICE COMPANY, there are plenty of options out there.

I used Beyer Boys for a full system replacement and new ducts. Of the 4 different quotes I got, Beyer was second lowest and I went with them based on their price, professionalism and thorough explanation.
From start to finish, they showed up on time, were courteous, did what they said they would and were accurate in time frames and price.
Almost a month with a the new system, using both heat and cool, and so far everything works great and quieter than my last unit.
The only reason it's not a 5 star review is that the clean-up outside wasn't that great.

Great company. They are honest and do a good job. Offer a military discount too which is great.

Absolutely no no no. They wanted to charge $2500 for some duct cleaning for my mom. That's excessive. They literally rob their customers. I about fell out of my seat. You don't want to know the rest of the estimate. Little do they know that I can literally fly a few guys, and do for cheaper than that. Damn. If you don't know everyone, you can get a new unit for $400. Don't do it. They will rob you...shit. And this whole bullshit membership. Oh god. Come on...seriously They sent pictures on an enclosed case. Like...you just can't see that. I'm in shock that they can rob these people but also laughing because it's so crazy. I don't know how they sleep at night.

I was scheduled to tune up my AC unit but the
Technician name is Michael Huel did inspection like 10 minutes. I told him to make sure blow the drain line and clean pan outside unit. He told me that he came here just inspected. I told him to stop what he doing. I didn't order inspection and why I order for, my ac units still working, so he left and asked to pay bill. What the heck why I have to pay? You didn't do the work I ordered and now you asked me to pay $190 just for 10 minutes inspection. This company is all about money and spam people. I will report to BBB if this they don't solve this problem.

We have been using them do do preventive maintenance on our AC units at work and each time they come out the AC stops working the next day. I called at 0615 this morning after they worked on it yesterday for the PM and was told it would be after 2pm before they could get someone out and stated the technician put in his notes that the outside unit needed a new contactor. He never said anything to anyone here about that and I am the one who signed his laptop. Now they say they need to call back with a quote to fix it. This happens every single time they touch our units and I will make sure we find someone else in the future for our needs. Their customer service are no help. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! I was forced to give them a 1 star rating because it would not let me send the review with no stars or negative stars.

I had seven different HVAC companies come to give me estimates for replacing two HVAC systems in my home and Beyer Boys were the most professional, informational, thorough, and competitively priced. If you want to save time in doing research for a good HVAC company then look no further. Jesse came to assess my old system and was very professional and the most knowledgeable of all the other sales representatives that came over. I got a sense from all the other guys that they didn't know what they were talking about or were trying to get more money out of me. Jesse made me feel that going with Beyer Boys would be a wise decision. When it came time to install my system, Eric and his team of techs got both systems installed in two days. They made sure to cover the floors and carpet to protect it and were very professional as well. I am very detail oriented and mechanically inclined and looking over the work of both HVACS that was done I am very impressed with the level of detail that was taken in getting the systems installed, no sloppy work at all. I am a very happy customer and highly recommend Beyer Boys!

Our dishwasher cratered and flooding kitchen , hardwood floors , so I called beyer Boys. Please note we had been using them for over 20 years and were satisified. The are not cheap though. To make a long story short I needed emergency repair as big area was flooded and water was leaking under the hardwood floor. Got water shutoff and called them. So the response is we are short staffed and will be two days to get there. This for a supposed 24 / 7 company as advertised. But if i was to pay for a premium plan they could get to the house by 5pm. I reminded the dispatcher we were long term clients over many years and she said this was the policy of the owners. So I told her this was a scam and they were fired and had lost multi year client. DO NOT under any circumstance use this disreputable company ever.

I had a 90 day HVAC maintenance plan that cost me $400. Now according to Beyer's website, the stated benefits of this plan includes the following (Prevent repairs, Improve Performance, Higher Energy Efficiency, Maintain System Warranty and Better Indoor Air Quality) My HVAC system is only three years old. A Beyer technician came out every month and stated yes, everything looks good, no issues, everything is all good. Fast forward to 2 months after Beyer's last visit to my house, the AC stops working, I call Beyer, they send out a technician, I will say pretty fast though. The technician tells me, the Capacitor went out and then states, this is really unusual for a Capacitor to go out on a system that's only three years old. He installs the new Capacitor, waits around about 15 minutes, changed me $375 for parts, labor and service fee and takes off. About 15 minutes after the gentlemen leaves, the system shut down again. I call Beyer, tell them that my system went out again and their technician had just left 15 minutes earlier. So they send a second technician out, and I noticed that this is the same technician that had serviced my unit through the maintenance plan I had purchased from them earlier in the year. He comes out and conducts an assessment and he states that the fuse had "tripped" due to excessive overload from the AC which was caused by the AC coil being clogged with pet hair and from using a reusable filter. Now these are all things that should have been captured during the performance of the 3 month maintenance plan. He then goes on to tell me that Beyer can clean the coil for $2,000. He didn't think that I remembered him from before and I asked why wasn't this issued communicated to me before as I had purchased an AC maintenance plan from them, CRICKETS nothing to say. He then wanted to charge me another Service Fee for coming out and I told him there is no way I would pay that because a previous technician had just left 15 minutes before he got there. The technician failed or blatantly withheld information from me that he was obligated to tell due to purchasing their maintenance plan. He knew that if the AC coil wasn't cleaned soon, that either I would need to replace the entire unit and pay for the $2,000 cleaning service. I did get the AC Coil cleaned for far much less than $2,000. I find the actions of Beyer Boys Technicians and the company values to be absolutely reprehensible and untruthful. I will never again use Beyer nor make referrals this them.
Formerly Hot and Bothered!

We purchased a new system from them and have had so many recurring problems since the purchase. They sold us a 4 ton unit for 13k+. The house always cooled before the old unit went out. Then, the new unit wouldn't support an almost 2,500 Sq Ft. house. It has been so bad for the past 5 years. We can't cool the house for just about half the year. Fed up with things, we had a meeting at their corporate office. Then, management came to our house. We were told things like our house needed better energy efficiency. So, we purchased approx 50k of new windows and doors. We went way above any beyond the typical energy efficiency windows and doors. We took it to the commercial level. After pouring money into that, the HVAC still couldn't cool the house. Then, we put in a radiant barrier system in the attic to deflect heat. Not a cheap expense. Then, the system still couldn't cool the house. Then, we put in a commercial attic fan to exude the humidity out of the attic where the system resides. Then, that didn't help, so we put in a commercial fan in the garage and added venting on the side of the garage for optimal air flow. That didn't work. Then, we replaced 100 percent of the attic insulation with the highest grade insulation. Then, out of even more desperation for relief we replaced all of the lighting in our house with LED lights. The house kept getting hot. We can't cook for half of the year with the 13k system, after all of the other energy efficiency projects we implemented to help cool the house. We told them numerous times that we can't use our kitchen and that we bring in fans while we cook to try and keep sweat off of us. So many times we told them that money was no object, we just needed relief. So many service calls. Sometimes 3 service calls In 2 days. Our exterior house is encased in vegetation. We have a high quality newer roof. We did an energy audit. Yesterday we had the summer check up. We had flying colors, according to the Beyer Boys. One hour later, the system ceased to function correctly. We were sweating to the oldies. Then, they came out and said they had to reset the temperature control. Today, less than 24 hours later after our flying colors from them, the system failed for a third time. Not only is it effing inconvenient, but after yesterday's flying colors report, we invited a friend, who is medically compromised. And one hour after her arrival, the system, once again doesn't work. We hired a 3rd party auditor. The Beyer Boys, we were told, sized the wrong tonnage. We were sold a 4 ton unit for a house that is from the 1960's and is closer to 2,500 square feet. It should be 1 ton for every 500 sq ft. Never mind that we spent endless amounts of money to make the house the best energy efficient house. The Beyer Boys don't show ownership or leadership. They actually sold us a service plan and in the middle of it, created more tiers to charge customers more. For under $500 they can come to your house 2x a year for service and give u discount on labor. They know all too much about labor charges. They have created a system, where they sell systems, size incorrectly, and offer expensive plans to make u feel good about what they are going to charge you so you can feel cool. They create money, not from true service, but from putting you in a situation where they have you by the balls, where they then create expensive out of market plans to help you, help them screw you. Enough is enough. Our attorneys will be filing the appropriate paperwork.
