This is my opinion about buying supplies from this company the system that was installed has been great so far no complaints about the system it self. I wanted to spend money with them but they refused. I will be buying online.
Contacted them to get a new air filter. I was told by one of the service men when I need filters to contact them. After she talked to someone she got back on the phone and told me they would have to come out and perform a tuneup on my Brand New 1 Year Old System for me to get a air filter. If you come here after you decide to do business with this company shame on you. I unfortunately had no choice the contractor who built my home in 2010 made this.

Beutler installed my system in a brand new home and I have had problems with the AC after the second summer. I spent 3 years replenishing coolant on a brand new system. Twice, I had to call another company because Beutler could not get to my home for 2 weeks even though I had a maintenance agreement with them.
I finally had enough of their rescheduling and refusal to accept responsibility so I logged complaints with every level of management up to the CEO, and he was the only to respond with the exception of the first level management who I called directly. That manager scheduled an appointment and did not show or call.
Only after I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau did they fix a problem that existed since installation. They never credited my account as promised.
When the winter came I found myself without heat and they would not honor my maintenance agreement until I paid for a service charge for repair it first. It turns out the last Beutler rep. that visited somehow turned off the gas to the heater. At least the representative that discovered the problem had the sense not to charge me for the service call.

Rip- off. Got a card on the mail for an ac tune up, so took advantage and sched an appt. Guy comes over and spends an hour assessing our ac and heating. At the end, he told us we needed a new AC and heating and would cost about 3 to 4k. We got a 2nd opinion from a different company and the next person said everything looked good. Looked at ratings and this company has multiple ratings in various sites with 1 star. Beware, do your homework.

I faced similar treatment as Charles did. I called Beutler to schedule my annual maintenance as my Comfort Club membership was soon to expire. I was told that the next available appointment was at least 30 days aware. WHAT?!!!!! I was told I had priority scheduling being a Comfort Club member. I was then pressured into renewing my membership which I did foolishly did thinking I was getting a benefit. What do you know.....an appointment shows up for the next week (several in fact)!!
It doesn't end there: I received the same script as others have: my unit is shot (motor will die, capacitor is not holding a charge, need duct cleaning, etc) and I needed to get it replaced ASAP. Of course, a salesperson could come out the same day and go over ""options"".
I called another company for a 2nd opinion and it was the best money I could spend. They came out the next day (WOW!), inspected my unit and went over my questions and concerns. Not only that, they could replace any of the items for 40% CHEAPER than what Beutler quoted. Also, duct cleaning is a SCAM under most circumstances!!!!
I have since canceled my Comfort Club but still get calls about my options for a new unit and renewing my membership. My unit is functioning fine and has made it through the hot streaks thus far.

I think Beutler was deceitful and cunning in order to get me to pay $10K for a new system. I got a second opinion. Crosby Services (916-501-6209) did an amazing job for $250.

My experience with Beutler Heating and Air Conditioning has been horrible. On 6/28/2011 after recieving a hard sell from a representative at Beutler my husband and I elected to purchase their 5 star system for heating and air conditioning under the condition that the system be installed the very next day. This system is supposed to lower heating and air conditioning costs, we discussed a smart vent, and is supposed to include new technology that would assist in the reduction of airborn allergies. Installation was set to begin at 0800. By 10:30 on 6/29/11 the installation crew had not arrived. He would not arrive until 12:00. A few days after the installation was completed we noticed that the smart vent monitor was not hooked up. I called beutler and was told that someone would call me back. No call back. A few days after that (a full week after installation) a red error light was flashing. I called buetlar and after arguing with the representative about the age of the system (she insists ""its a month old"".. no its a week old, the month changed yes (einstein) but its still within the week of purchase and oh by the way, should I expect you system to break down at a month. They send out a repair person the next morning, who merely pushes a reset button on our system (no analysis into the problem) and then hooks up our smart system and runs the smart vent sensor wire. That very evening we notice that the smart vent is not working at all. Its 60 degrees outside but our system is running full blast to cook to 77 degrees inside. We call and a repair person comes out on Monday. He tells us that the location of the smart vent sensor caused the smart vent monitor box to fry and that both will have to be replaced. He promises that Buetler will call that week when the parts arrive and the problem will be fixed by Friday. Friday (last week) no call, so I call on Monday of this week. A repair person arrives on Tuesday who informs me that there is no smart vent installed at all.. that the monitor box is not attached to an actual system... Naturally I am STEEMED, so I call beutler who informs me that the smart vent was never actually transcribed into our contract so we are SOL. The next day, the air duct cleaner from Buetler fails to show (part of our contract) and had to be rescheduled until today... guess what they are late, late, late.... So nearly twenty thousand dollars poorer with a less then stellar air conditioning system that is loud... not exactly what I expected. Be warned.

We had a very bad experience with ""Beutler Air Conditioning Service"" recently. After being a ""Gold"" Comfort Club Member with Beutler for 10 years, they were my first choice to have the maintenance done on our A/C unit. We had recently moved out of that home and I just wanted to ensure that our tenants would not have to deal with any problems during the hot Sacramento summer weather. Our tenants had not yet turned on the A/C due to the unusual cold weather until June this year, but the hot weather was just around the corner. I had to pay $169 for the maintenance visit since our Comfort Club membership expired. The Beutler service person who visited us on 06/07/11 was named Zack. He reported that the furnace had a bad run capacitor and a dusty blower wheel, and that the condenser had a bad run capacitor causing the motor to go in reverse pumping in hot air instead of cooling the house down. He said he saw a number of such cases in his 12 years of experience and recommended buying a new unit instead of replacing the parts since this unit was more than 10 yrs old. After chatting with Beutler ""service rep"" John, I got very suspicious with the whole thing. He quoted about $800 for parts replacement, and upwards of $7000 for a new A/C unit replacement. When I said that I would like to go for the parts replacement, he mentioned that it will take a week for him to check if the parts were available and maybe another 2 weeks after that to schedule the repair. I requested for the maintenance report and got a PDF mailed to me from ARS-Beutler-8130 (ars.com). It had the A/C unit serial number and details about the parts in question.
I called up my A/C unit manufacturer (York) and they suggested checking with their local authorized dealer (Sierra Valley Home Corp.). Suzy at SVHC was very helpful, she got back to me next day on parts availability and scheduled the repair work for 2 days later. SVHC only quoted $520 for the same parts & labor. The SVHC technician called us and said that the condenser was wired in reverse, and he suspected that it was intentionally done so. He mentioned that the wiring diagram was on a sticker right next to it and even a novice would have wired it correctly. He also mentioned that the furnace blower wheel was clean. He charged me only for the visit and re-wiring the unit.
I called Beutler to report this incident. They logged the complaint and told me a manager would call me to talk about it. When I called back a week later, they said that people were out for the long weekend and someone would talk to me soon after that. It's been more than 2 weeks past that and I have no word from them. My tenants had to suffer through the mid-June heat for a few days before borrowing a portable A/C unit from their parents, all due to this unscrupulous behavior of some people at Beutler. I would never ever be calling 1-800-Beutler again. However, I do plan to lodge a complaint at BBB and maybe check on other places where such unprofessional incidents can be reported.

We didn't choose Beutler, unfortunately our builder Centex did. We bought our house 2 1/2 years ago so this is the third summer.....all the freon in our A/C system has leaked out.........called Centex who told us we are out of warranty and need to call Beutler who installed the A/C..called Beutler and was given an appointment, but they didn't show up so we called only to be told they had the appointment scheduled for 3 1/2 weeks later....but of course they didn't show up for that appointmet either and when we called they said either we had cancelled or the appointment was at 9:00pm on the day of the first appointment? So now it will be another 3 1/2 weeks before they can come out....they recommended we have the builder Centex refer us to someone? This is crazy, a 2 1/2 year old air conditioner should not have lost its freon...and Beutler who did the installation should not be giving us a run around :( Another company is coming out this week to service and refill the freon since Beutler does't seem to have any sense of responsibility towards customers and doesn't know the meaning of customer service...I have a feeling though that we will be seeing them in small claims court uless they show up 3 1/2 weeks later for that date too.....

If cheating a blind, 88 year old, single woman is the kind of treatment you want from your air conditioning company, then Beutler is for you! Recently my Mom's air conditioning went out, so we choose Buetler, thinking that even though they may be more expensive than others, ""certainly they must be honest and reputable"" since they've been around for so long? NOT!
They came out and diagnosed that a bad capacitor had 'blown / fried' her whole system. The Beutler tech tired replacing the bad capacitor with a new one, but still the air conditioning unit didn't work, which is how he tried to prove to my Mom that her only option was a whole new system. He estimated the cost at around $9,000. So we called for a second opinion from another company. Comfort Masters of Sac came out and quickly accessed that the Beutler tech had left the 'disconnect' switch off and used the wrong sized capacitor, so the unit would never have worked and that there was nothing else wrong with her system. So either Buelter is incompetent OR just cheaters! Comfort Masters of Sac fixed her air conditioning unit by replacing two capacitors and the whole bill came to only $170, not $9,000!
This horrible experience was made worse when we called to complain to the mgt team at Beutler and were not called back. Only when we said we'd call Channel 3, 10, and 13 did someone speak to us, but instead of a manager, the customer service person in charge had us speak to the original tech that provided the lousy service. Still no manager has called us back! So, you decide whether or not you want to have this cheating or incompetent company service your air conditioning?

Absolute crooks. During routine maintenance service, tech said there was a problem and he'd have to call out his supervisor. Supervisor said he had to ""tag"" (shut it down because it was hazardous) the system and the repair would be $2500. (This was on one of the coldest days of the year - so now we have no heat.) I called a different company to get a second opinion. Was that ever worth the $125 service call. There was absolutely nothing wrong with our furnace. Beware!
