Beware of this company- they will scam you and rip you off. I was having trouble with my heater, they came in, told me I needed a whole new system, brought back a supervisor who tried to sell me a $20,000 new HVAC. I got a second opinion, found out they had intentionally removed some wires so my whole system wouldn't work (even the A/C which wasn't broken), and the only thing wrong with it was a small part that needed replacement for less money.

Serious scam artists- BEWARE!

There are two companies. a) Comfort club program that provides warranty service for new homes and b) Beutler ( the ripoff artists). After your warranty expires, a call center, claiming to be Beutler will call and offer warranty services for $14.99 a month or $169 per annum. Do not get fooled. This is a gimmick. After you sign up for this, the Beutler guy will show up and charge $85 for just the visit. He will also make sure that something is not working and offer to fix it for around $250. Typically this is a $25 ignition for which he will quote $240/-. By this time you are nervous and just want the problem fixed and succumb. But do not do so...instead get a second opinion. My central a/c and heater is less than ten years old and did not require the $250 repair. I also believe that every time they fix one thing they try to break something else so they can continue to scam unsuspecting and ignorant consumers. The repairman also left a trail of black fingerprints and did not bother to clean the debris, Beutler is pathetic, even escalation to the Customer Service Manager got a response that borders or retarded. they seen to assume that everyone is ignorant and they can bluster there way through technical gibberish. I wish there was a good alternative. unfortunately, each competitor, at least from reviews, seem of the same ilk. In any case, be very careful of the Beutler scam and save the $250/-

Beutler but in our HVAC at our new home in 2005, I bought the comfort club because I had a uneasy feeling about the system, to many service calls, I will not renew this as they don't address the issues, show up late and leave a mess! Will find another HVAC company to take care of our system. ps - don't waste your $ on a Smart Vent, the only thing smart is Beultler taking your money, get a whole house fan!

I was in a 5 year contract with Beutler's Comfort Club where Beutler services air and heating unit once per year. In the 5 years since 2005, there had not been a problem with heating and air during each service. When I called to renew my contract for another 3 years, they informed me that they discontinued Comfort Club service (albeit original contract stated I could extend it for another 3 yrs) and was replaced with ~$1100 ESA (Energy Service Agreement). This service involves performing preventative maintenance 2x per year for 5 years. To my ignorance, ESA does not cover parts unlike Comfort Club. In its first maintenance service under ESA, the tech informed me that a $250 capacitor needed replacement. When I found out that parts were only discounted 10%, I called and wrote a long letter to Beutler of my intention in getting out of ESA and getting a pro-rated refund of the $700 that I had already paid.
It has been 2 months since and after numerous phone calls, still no call backs or response. Meanwhile, Beutler continues to bill my credit card. The ladies who answer phone messages have been polite and assuring that Beutler would call back, but after 2 months, still no response.
In my opinion, Beutler's ESA is a scam to get customers to pay money upfront and then get customers to pay more for parts which may not be defective. Beutler's response to customer complaints and concerns have been non-existent.
For those of you who are looking for Heating and Air service, please be wary of Beutler's Energy Service Agreement Program.

NO STARS - This company will soak you!

The tech was an hour and a half late for his 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. window. He swabbed the intake to show us how dirty our system was and after coming down and telling us we needed a new control board he wrote out an estimate that included charging $1,100 for the part we needed they were willing to lower that price by a couple hundred if we signed up for the maintenance package which included them only checking the unit 2 times a year. Total estimate over $1,200. We paid the $89 service fee for the visit and sent him on his way. Vardells installed the brand new control board for $185.00 thats right $185.00. Dont let Beutler take advantage of you. If you need work done on your heating and air don't call Beutler unless you have lots of extra money and want to pay a 300% markup on parts and just feel the need to throw your money away. Call Vardells they are honest and fair..

If I could rate this company a big fat zero, I must definitely would. I was a Comfort Club Member for 10 years with my last year as a member ending in 2008. Never in those 10 years was I ever told about any problems with my furnace or AC. A week ago I was called by Beutler asking if they could schedule me for a free inspection of my furnace. In my gut I knew Beutler had something up their sleeve if they were offering to look at my furnace for free after my membership had expired. I agreed to have them come by and sure enough I was informed by the technician that I had a recalled furnace. When I questioned the technician as to why I hadn't been informed of this when I was a comfort club member, all he could say was, ""don't shoot the messenger"". He then went on to say that the furnace was recalled due to a failed heat exchanger. He explained that he had sprayed a solution on the furnace and was able to detect the solution on the inside of the furnace. He further explained that with a failed heat exchanger gases could seep into the home which was potentially dangerous. The technician then called his supervisor to come out to confirm his findings. When the supervisor arrived, he confirmed that I had a failed heat exchanger and wanted to schedule an appointment that evening with me and my husband to discuss repair options. I asked him what was the range of costs for the repair, he explained that was hard to say, it would be anywhere from $600 to $16,000. He explained that the heat exchanger could either be replaced or we could purchase a new furnace. And of course with the replacement of the furnace, Beutler would provide the furnace, new construction, installation and maintenance. He then asked me to call my husband so to schedule a time he could come back that evening for us to discuss our options. I explained that I would first talk with my husband and if we decided to go forward with any repairs we would give him a call. All along I knew I was never calling Beutler back to do anything. What we decided to do was to call another HVAC company to inspect our furnace and inform us of their findings. Well, today we were pleasantly informed that our furnace did not have a failed heat exchanger and the technician even tested the air coming from the vent for carbon monoxide and there was zero detection of carbon monoxide from the vents. So beware of Beutler, they have sketchy business practices and should not be trusted by no-one.

Have had a service plan since 2008. Assumed they had been performing the 2/yr. services since we gave them our tenant's contact info when we paid our $1000.00. This time around, they wanted a credit card before they would go out to perform the already-paid-for maintenance. Refused to give them one - they could not show where I had agreed to do so when the contract was signed. Anyway, on day of service, received a call that they had ""red-tagged"" the furnace as there was a crack in some piece of the equipment (gas furnace). The repair would be between $2500, but we could install a new unit for $6300. The broken part of the furnace is under warranty, but there was no warranty on the labor, as the unit is several years old. Long story short, called for a second opinion. There is nothing wrong with the unit - cost me $112 and my tenant has heat again. Apparently, this company is known for this kind of stuff. STAY AWAY!!! By the way, our tenant says this is only the second time in 2-1/2 years they have been out to service the units.

DO NOT sign up for Beutler's Home Service Plan! All it is, is a way to make you pay $160 so that a technician can come out, tell you that the sky is falling, and try to sell you $1000+ of parts and service that you don't need! Highly unethical company, DO NOT trust them. For a reputable, fair expert, contact Peter Kalinin at A Cool Air Inc.

I have a Buetler system. In December 2010 it stopped working. I called them and they sent a technician. The cost just for checking was $89.00. The technician spotted the problem to be a broken ignitor. When asked what the cost price, he told me to wait because he had to calculate it out. After 15 minutes he was ready and presented me with 2 options: 1. Pay $375.00 to have the new part installed or 2. Go with their yearly program of preventive maintenance which would cost me $450.00 (including the current problem). I couldn't believe that it would cost that much. When asked how much the part was he refused to tell me and claimed the charge was for part and labor, The part is quoted on line for $27.99 which would put the labor at $347.00 for 5 minutes of work (and he was already at my house..). When trying to reason with the technician, it seemed that he was a robot just repeated what he was instructed to say.
Awfull company. Sells you a system and then milks you for years.

Beutler installed the HVAC system in my new home in 2008. Two years later my furnace has quit working after only a few hundred hours of use. I would never knowingly do business with them again.
