Ernesto came out today to fix a minor problem and he, along with everyone I have had contact with was delightfully professional. These folks appreciate how much u r spending on new units and bend over backwards to make sure you are happy with the experience.

I would have selected zero stars if I could. I will never use Beutler again for any of my HVAC needs. Before moving into our new home in El Dorado Hills about a month ago, we had plenty of issues with our HVAC system in Folsom, also serviced by Beutler. There is a reason I bring this up, bear with me. The system rarely worked as it was supposed to and struggled to cool the house. Before moving, we learned that one of the ducts came loose and the unit was cooling the attic. This is a year after we brought someone out to seal that very duct connector (I'm doing the best I can to describe the situation, I don't pretend to know the whole system and verbiage used. They were frustrating to work with and I rarely felt like they did a good job. So, moving forward to our new home, I saw Beutler installed the system and was disappointed, but it is what it is. After even one day we notice a bunch of water dripping from a drainage pipe in the backyard that in my limited knowledge, know is connected to the A/C. We have Beutler come out, they of course try to sell us on the extended service plan. They tell us that most everything is fine after crawling around the attic, that everything is normal, not to worry about it too much and that we'll probably need a new system soon (it's about 10 years old), even say that it wouldn't be a horrible idea to get a new one now. They also suggested we some high dollar charge to ""clean our dirty system in the attic"" We decline and go about our daily lives. Fast forward a month. We are frustrated because the system seems to really be struggling to cool our home (and it hasn't been THAT hot outside in this time. Our PG&E bill seems larger than it even should be (and I know how bad they can be). And over a 4 hour period, the temp isn't budging from 78 degrees. So we call Rocklin Heating and Air based on some reviews from this site. I called on a Sat morning and someone was here 3 hours later without any begging or anything. He crawled up in the attic and 20 minutes later, he found two issues that Beutler didn't find. One, (a familiar tune) was that a duct was completely disconnected and was cooling our entire attic, but not reaching the home (how did they miss this!!??). He said it looks like it has been like that for a while. He shared another problem too, but said let's just try the first one and see if that is a good enough fix. He also showing me a ""cleanable"" filter that Beutler used to see that when he worked there for a few months earlier in his career they joked were ""system killers."" We asked about ""cleaning the system"" - were told, no, it's fine, completely normal. I can't even tell you how frustrated I am with Beutler and felt like everyone should know. We were also told to avoid them by a good friend that used to work for a property management company since all of this happen as she said she wasn't surprised. We've also since found out that Beutler tech's work on at least semi commission basis and why they always have some extra service they are offering. Call at your own risk.

Do not use Beutler! They sold me junk for $16,000. My a/c units are leaking freon after two summers of limited use. They have incompetent technicians that can't find anything wrong with my units, they only know to refill my units with freon. I know they are giving me excuses and not fixing my units. I want to give a negative star...but I can't.

On Sa 08/15/15, Ernesto M. from Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing based in Woodland, CA arrived to complete a diagnostic check of our AC unit. Little did we know of our ""dancing"" fan, corroded Kick Start mechanism, and low R-22 refrigerant. Ernesto M. explained each issue and visually pointed out each concern. With peace of mind, we approved all his urgent recommendations to get our AC unit to functionality days before a weekend of out-of-town guests at our home. Ernesto M. did SO RIGHT by us that we agreed to the Beutler Annual Service Plan (which resulted in additional $156 in savings). Ernesto M. stood by his work and his company and our home benefited from their quality and integrity.

Had a plumbing inspection from Lenny (who is great!!) - he even looked at our icemaker to try to determine what the problem was - went over & above the call of duty!!! He's welcome in our home any time!!!
When we found that our new AC unit was hooked up to the wrong outlet pipe, Beutler came out to fix it. Ernesto was great!! He had to climb around in the HOT attic crawl space for quite some time, but did a great job!! Very on-time, personable , and responsible..... he is also welcome in our home any time!!!
Thanks, guys!! Good Job & Well-Done!!

What a lame operation. One of our thermostats installed originally by Beutler stopped working in the program mode (works fine in manual mode) but they wont sell me a new thermostat. Instead they want to send a technician out (and ream me for $$$ for a completely unnecessary house visit call).

Let me tell you up front, DO NOT use Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing !!!!
I signed up for $49 service call. The gentleman that did the service call was very through and pointed out a few issues with my 12 year old HVAC system. He suggested it might time to replace but did provide me the repair cost as well. I choose to get a quote for a new systems.
The estimator came out, never did any load calculations and determine I should replace with a 4 ton systems. wrote me a price $16,000 on a piece of scratch paper, then said if I can made my decision now, he would knock off another $500.
He got his boss on the phone and together they gave us a sales pitch. But I never get the written estimate. All I have was a price tag for $15,500
I said Costco has a 5 Ton system and only offer $13,000. Why would I go with Beutler.. the guy seems not happy and had an attitude stating I should trust Beutler more than Costco.. I said No thank you and politely asked him to leave.
REMEMBER!!! DO NOT Call or use Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing
July 2015 Edit. By the way, the representative I dealt with works for a company call www.ars.com (no joke.. that is the name and it is FUNNY how someone would name their company that way.. Ars !! ) The ""ars company"" is telling me they are now Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing !! hmm GO figure!!

A further, likely final comment related to my recent experience. Someone from Beutler responded to my post seeking to speak with me about my experience. I responded with my contact information. That was about a week ago I'm still waiting to hear from them.
This does not surprise me, all talk, BS, not constructive action. I wish yelp would allow negative stars. It's buyer beware with this company your odds of a positive experience are very, very low.

Bought an AquaChill in Feb of 2013 for $10K and this thing COMPLETELY failed me by June 2015. There was a leak in the evaporator coil assembly and all the refrigerant leaked out.
Called Beutler to complain that the unit wasn't cooling at all (measured the air temp using an IR heat sensor coming out of the vent), and immediately they went into sales mode, offering a maintenance plan. That made me furious, because the unit was still under warranty. They thought at first my unit only had a 2 year warranty, but I got it through Home Depot, so it had a 3 year parts+labor warranty. If I had a standard 2 year warranty, guess what? It would have cost more than $1200 to have the evaporator coil assembly replaced. I hardly ran this thing, maybe 200 hours max. I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY TO REPLACE THEIR FLAWED EQUIPMENT! WHERE IS THEIR QUALITY CONTROL??? $10K? What do you think you're doing, Beutler?
Now they will be scheduling a replacement evap coil after summer ends. Well OK, I'm patient, but I can tell you if the warranty HAD run out and I find the evap coil had leaked and I would have had to pay the $1200 or so to get it replaced, you can bet I would have gotten our fine California Courts involved.
P.S. I will say this, that the Beutler service technician was very thorough, and knowledgeable, in diagnosing the problem. And he was polite. So Beutler is definitely honoring the 3 year guarantee, as per the contract. The technician refilled the refrigerant in order to get me through the summer, because the leak was apparently a slow one. AND Butler is paying for the new evap coil assembly.
They seem to honor their warranty very well, but why is the problem here in the first place, and PAIN I would have gone through if I hadn't gone through Home Depot and gotten an extra year on my warranty?
++++++++++UPDATE Sep 7, 2015+++++++++++++
I need to give credit to Beutler now that they have replaced the evaporator coil assembly. This is what happened... the original evap coil (100lb copper tubing assembly, located in the HVAC unit) had completely corroded itself, in a matter of 2 years, and had developed refrigerant leaks. This was because of, from what I was told, a faulty design of the spacing between the evap unit and the condensation pan below it. This replacement was actually more like a field-change for them, because other people had dealt with this problem as well. They replaced the old evap with a newly designed evap unit that had the proper spacing.
Obviously, Beutler/Aqua-Chill design had a fatal flaw in the beginning, so if you have an Aqua-Chill, you might want to inspect the evap coils to see if they are corroding at the bottom, and if so, call Beutler and remind them of their commitment to quality, and that they should be the ones to replace a flawed design, and not on your dime. This problem actually should have been part of some sort of recall effort by Beutler, but maybe that's expecting too much.
Anyway, all's well that ends well, because the technicians did a good job installing the replacement evap, and it was free for me (expensive for them).

Horrible service, if you can even call it service. I paid for a PM plan and all they did when they were here ""doing their PM"" was try to sell me new equipment. They rescheduled my appointment 4 times in the past week. One time was on the morning they were suppose to show up and I had already taken off work. If they don't think they can get more money out of you, they bump your appointment for the next customer.
