I can highly recommend Better Rooter. Absolutely responsive from the first call, on time, pricing very fair and its clear their team has worked together for a long time. Seamless coordination, great communication, and you know they are experts at what they do. I had to do a trenchless sewer lateral- not easy to get permits with the City of Oakland making it difficult to issue permits due to hack. Better Rooter persevered, coordinated all the various departments and agencies. Their team came on time, and worked so hard to get it done quickly. My neighbors were asking me later - who was that company with such hard workers. Mind you this was in one of the huge rainstorms. The team was respectful of my property and my neighbors- kept it all as clean as humanly possible. Excellent experience.

Better Rooter used the bursting-pipe method to install a new 125' sewer lateral at my house. They had the most competitive pricing (I spoke with 5 companies), clear communication via email and phone, completed the job per schedule (2 days), worked with the inspector to pass the inspection, and cleaned the jobsite perfectly. Really could have gone better. I used Better Rooter in August 2021 to get a sewer lateral replacement. They would have to remove some concrete next to our home to access the sewer.

I had confirmed multiple times, first with Alex, and then later with Reyna, that while they made no guarantees, they would ""try to match"" the color of the concrete. This is maybe on me, but it seemed like a simple matter, so I didn't press further beyond that.

So I was disappointed when the work crew informed me near completion of the job that they were not going to be able to match the color of the concrete: They didn't bring any equipment or materials to color match.

I called the office to clarify the service and contract, and Reyna told me to have them complete the job, take a picture, and they would reach out to see if we could reach a resolution. I agreed, in good faith paid for the service, and they wrapped up the job.

When I followed up with photos by email the following week, the CEO, Veronica, responded tersely and dismissed my concerns. I guess I learned my lesson, but it could not have come in a less professional way.

Alex helped me with getting the sewer lateral to comply with the minimum dollars spent. His quote was the lowest and the most honest out of all the other companies. The rest had told me that the sewage requires replacement. Alex was responsive and efficient. I referred him to my friends and clients. They were all satisfied with his work!

Recently Better Rooter replaced our sewer lateral with a trenchless system from the house all the way to the City main connection.

The job was priced very competitively, and the work was completed as scheduled in one day, with great project management, a friendly crew, and immediate clean up. Permits with the City of Oakland, and EBMUD, were handled with no fuss and some ""extras"" were included that were not provided by other estimates. Other estimates had base prices with stipulations for added costs, while Better Rooter gave a single price that covered everything.

Alex is very easy to work with, straightforward, and honors his commitments.
