Spare yourself the disappointment. The owner (one of the not-so-friendly HV/AC techs at your dis-service) is hopelessly rude and unprofessional. After the scheduling of my appointment was botched and the technician was 25 minutes late for the 4-hour (8am-12pm) window provided, the owner (yes, the owner!) chewed me out on the phone and said that I was """"up his rear end"""" and """"up his butt"""" for being impatient. I am a paying customer who just wanted the furnace in my home repaired so I could get back to the office. It is amazing that a shop like this would stay in business or on the list of providers for American HomeShield.

DAVID was the HVAC TECH from BEST WAY MECHANICAL. He wrote up a BS report stating the burners were rusted water damage from roof into furnace. ALL LIES , said the entire unit needed to be replaced. I hired a licensed HVAC tech too come out before the second opinion American Home Shield sends out. He stated NO WATER DAMAGE,RUSTED BURNERS OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. Stated the possible causes the furnace wasn't staying lit, YES this TECH was able to LIGHT THE FURNACE! He told me to inform the second opinion tech AHS sends out. MARCUS from EAGLE HEATING & AIR came out listened too the info I was provided and checked those things further but noticed that the PRESSURE SWITCH was going bad. MARCUS was able to leave me with a WORKING furnace in 1 HOUR. DAVID from BEST WAY MECHANICAL was in and out of my house in 15-25 minutes TOPS. NO where near enough time to do a therall inspection, blame it on the night before Thanksgiving . Mind you he stated he was glad to be getting off because we were his last call for the day & he was tired. He flat out LIED and didn't INSPECT the unit at ALL. Then stated it was water coming from the roof which has NO LEAKS AT ALL. getting into the furnace . DAVID didn't feel comfortable lighting the furnace because there was a child in the house and he didn't want it to come back on him. DAVID LYING about the ROOF leaking water into the FURNACE VOIDED (AHS) COVERAGE of the FURNACE altogether. DAVID SHOULD NOT BE SERVICING Customers homes if he's not Up for the job. DAVID was PLEASANT . But he's VERY DECEITFUL & not too be trusted.

AHS (via Bestway Mechanical) replaced my long neck stainess steel kitchen faucet with a cheap, short neck, shiny chrome faucet and they don't understand why I'm upset. What good is home warranty if you don't at least get similar replacement materials? Why would I design my kitchen the way I like with matching appliances and fixtures and then pay someone to come in and add materials that don't match? Worstway Mechanical will not call me back or reply to emails.

This is one of the worst companies I have had the displeasure to work with. The office staff is greatly lacking ability and customer service. The actual plumbing technicians have NO clue what they are doing and even admitted that they didn't know anything about tankless water heaters, as if they are some new fangled invention. After 4 painful visits from 2 different technicians, nothing was solved and the water heater still doesn't work. One of the technicians, Zack, actually told me to call the manufacturer of the tankless system and troubleshoot the system on our own to fix it. Last time I checked, you hire a plumber to come fix the problem not to have them stand there dumbfounded, charge you for the visit and tell you to fix it yourself. I called a new plumber out in within one visit I have the right diagnoses and the working water heater. The people at Best Way are not only inept and have no knowledge of plumbing, but their customer service is AWFUL and they are down right rude. They were not truthful about the things they had done either. I recommend you stay far far away from them if you are looking for a good experience and an want something actually fixed.

Came out in March 2016, replaced the compressor and charges about 700 dollars for upgrades and freon. They been kept called out about every month due to AC unit not working. August /September tech from Bestway Mechanical state it needs new compressor and I need to pay about 400 dollars for freon again even though they been called out every monnt. Will never use this company again and will be cancelling American Home Shield after almost 20 years with them. Can't get second opinion and had 2 different third party check the HVAC unit and it needs to be trplaced. AHS will give me cash out of 600 dollars which won't cover half th the cost of n ew one. It looks like Bestway Mechanical is not BBB Accredited.

horrible service, unskilled mechanics & horrible customer service. they are in partnership with ahs to not repair issues they cause and refused to provide liability insurance information to their customers.

As many others have stated, one star is too many. This company doesn't care about customers and AHS doesn't seem to care a lot either because they continue to employ them in light of the many complaints they receive. One representative even told me """"we don't base or decisions on reviews from YELP"""". Well, it doesn't appear you base it on any form of logic because I have seen complaints on other sites and have complained many times to AHS. To dialogue my entire experience would take me forever, so I will try to make it brief. They have been out 4-5 times and the AC is still not working. It was 97 degrees yesterday and in the 90s today. The company even tried to blame the previous company which clearly appears to be false. When they come out for the service calls, they only stay a few minutes and they are on their way and never stay around to see if it is cooling. I had to make another service call today and they wanted to send the same company again. I had to speak with 2 more reps just to get them to send a different company. The first rep told me they would have to charge me another service fee. I said absolutely not! Why should I pay another fee when it was never repaired properly the first time. I was thinking this must be some kind of joke if she thought there was an ounce of fairness in that statement. It is Friday and I am still without air. The rep told me you need to wait 24 hours for it to thaw since it is frozen again. I may be in the heat all weekend as I have not received a return call to notify me of an ETA. I do not recommend this company! Terrible experience... Poor service and they don't even seem to care!

As stated in the other reviews I also had American Home Shield which uses this company and had a terrible experience with this company. After smelling gas and my water heater going out a technician troubleshoots and order/ replace burner assembly stays every bit of 5 minutes to see if it will stay lit long story short no hot water over the weekend call technician back out relights water doesn't work recommended replacing my water heater. Myself a former HVAC mechanic decide to do my own research on line and come to find out the bottom of the burner assembly was clog with dust and a screw was missing. Bought my own thermocouple and cleaned burner assembly myself problem fix stay away from this company they will have you buying unnecessary parts.

I have American Home Shield (AHS) and had a terrible experience with the company. After one of their contractors """"repaired"""" an issue in March, it failed again two months later. Since it was out of the """"call back"""" period of 30 days, AHS had to call in another contractor. Apparently, they are low on contractors in my area and it took more than a week to schedule someone to come out (all the while, the heat index exceeded 105 degrees and I had no A/C). Finally, Bestway Mechanical was dispatched. I was surprised to hear they were from the Atlanta area (I live 5 hours away in SC). Mike, the owner, assessed the situation and noted that the A/C failed due to improper repair from AHS first contractor (Ohohna Heating and Air). The """"repair"""" appeared to have been done by someone who had no idea what he was doing...in fact, the repair should never have been done...the unit should have been replaced immediately. Mike told AHS the unit needs to be replaced and the original repair was grossly inadequate. It took 2 more weeks for AHS to authorize the replacement of the unit. Mike came back and replaced the unit and I have had no issues (Knock on wood). Bestway looked out for me on this repair...they insisted the unit must be replaced and cannot be repaired. Something the original contractor should have done (on a side note, stay away from Ohohna Heating and Air in Summerville, SC). I'd use Bestway again, if they were closer.

Requested HVAC service through AHS warranty for no cooling. Tech stated that I needed a new air handler as the system was out of Freon. TWO days later the system comes back on and is cooling! Had another HVAC company inspect the unit, and found that the drain pan flooded and tripped the float switch. Stay away from this dishonest provider!
