Extremely overpriced promised work never completed after waiting 4months. Loan taken out 4months ago to complete project that they received and was told this morning that was the price of the work that they did . $36000. I could have plumbed my whole house for 1/3 of that. Had a new plumbing problem arise and they were going to charge an additional $800 to fix. When I talked to the manager they did end up fix it for me. I asked for an itemized list of the work that has been done for the original $36000 because I told them I have pictures of what was done. I'm waiting for the list. I will update review later

Charged $608 to put a shark bite fitting on a leaking water line. took 15 minutes to fix. Had already charge $99 for an emergency visit. the whole bill minus a $30 dollar senior discount came to $676. ridiculous, plus when I asked for a detailed bill to see what the labor for 15 min was they said they don't bill that way. Only by the job. Would never use this company or recommend them to anyone.

Brian showed up with a tablet, quoted me a price including parts and labor, would not separate, had me sign the tablet, completed the installation, insisted he had quoted a lower price and charged me $2800 for replacing a 50 gallon hot water heater. That works out to roughly $800 for parts and $2000 for five hours of labor. There's a joke about a guy who complains about his plumbing bill. Customer: ""I'm a brain surgeon and I don't make that much an hour."" Plumber:"" Neither did I when I was a brain surgeon.""

Had them out earlier in the week, and they show up early. They snaked the drain, charged $600, but took half off when I was going to have more work done. They quoted over $1600 for a pipe replace of less than 5ft. Claimed the snaking didn't work, and suggested an air vent replace because the spring might have went. Didn't offer that fix at the time, said they would throw it in for free when they came back to do the work. I had an appointment arrival window of 11-2, got no updates until I either called or they sent a text that the technician was on the way. Over an hour later did the tech show up with the excuse that he had to pick up parts from the supplier. When asked why those weren't already loaded into the truck in the morning, neither the tech, nor the manager I spoke with could give me a direct answer. The manager offered $200 off the quote, but I wasn't happy with that, and sent the tech away. I was even told over the phone by Sylvester that he knew they were one of the pricier plumbers out there, but wouldn't do anything else to offer.

Sylvester even told me the tech showed up at 1:13, no, he showed up at 1:34 with uniform shirt unbuttoned and looking lost. I don't think he knew what he was talking about, a lot of Uhhhh and Uhmmms came out of his mouth. (Sylvester claimed he didn't know that detail, so either their dispatch or the tech lied). The tech also kept getting his numbers wrong when giving me quotes, and couldn't give me a full number, just an estimation.

I called earlier in the day (about half an hour after the start of the ""arrival window"") to get an estimated arrival time, was told he was just finishing up and was only 20 minutes away that it would be about an hour. Two hours later with excuse after excuse. I expressed that if they knew about re-piping, why was he sent to a different job in the morning, or why didn't they send out a different tech to do the job. They couldn't answer that question either.

I've used Ben Franklin Plumbing in the past, and I don't recommend or want to use them again. I went to go buy a replacement air vent, and NOTHING fits the piping. Did they install something that I can only use them to replace? If that's the case, that's a pretty asinine thing to do.

Edit to add: had another plumber come out and the same work was going to cost me almost 60% off!! Gave me a couple other suggestions, and I went out and bought a $50 snake and in less than 5 minutes, not one, but two clogs were gone. I've been completely RIPPED OFF by this company

Disappointed in the service. Scammed thousands of dollars from my home insurance. Still waiting for the billing department to get back to me about discussing me getting out of a contract with them. It's been weeks. Wouldnt recommend. Salesman said i could get my deductable back from my payment . Pretty sure I wont see that even though they made an extra profit of 4000 dollars and change from over charging my insurance. Saying the job takes 2 days when it really was only a 1 day job. Even the worker on the job site that day said it was a one day job. ?

Twice we had a plumber come to our home for total cost of over $1000. We had a pit in the basement bathroom backing up into the toilet shower and tub as well as the area of the pump. The first occurrence was on Memorial Day weekend. Even though their website says they have service 24/7 we were told we had to wait to a business day because it was not considered an emergency ""because there was an alternative bathroom in the house, even though there was Sewage backing up into the apartment. We wrote a review on the website and two hours later they found an appointment for the next day. We were told the first time it was the float and it was replaced for $900. A month later when it backed up, the second employee told us it was the toilet paper that we had been using for 18 years that never caused a problem, so we changed to single ply. The third time it backed up we caught it early, cleaned it up ourselves Unplugged and replugged it in and thought it would be OK. The fourth time we noted a humming sound and called them. They told us it sounded like the pump needed to be fixed and that would cost $2200 and maybe we need to reroute some pipes for an additional cost. We were able to schedule, our regular plumber, who was not initially available, he replaced the pump including the float for $1500. He also uncovered a pipe not reconnected appropriately on the second visit. We have now put out $2700 for an event that could've only cost $1500 and would'nt have had to clean up sewage four times!

Too bad it isn't possible to give them zero stars because that's what they deserve. I called them to come out and give me an estimate on replacing a couple feet of drain pipe under my kitchen sink and install a new garbage disposal. The tech initially quoted me a price of $2,400 for this simple work. When I laughed in his face he said, ""Let me check with my supervisor"" and went out to his car and came back with a price of $2,000. I again laughed at him and told him and told him to send me a quote. The next day I get a call from a sales rep informing me that the manager had approved an additional reduction of $400 if I decided to do the work right away. So, at the very least, they were ready to overcharge me $800 for a simple job. To say they are like used car salesmen would be a terrible insult to used car salesmen. The kings of the bait and switch. If you have them do work for you make sure they reduce the price at least three times but I would never have a company that willingly rips off customers like this ever do anything for me. Completely untrustworthy.

Do no use this company. They drained my water heater without turning off the electric during a routine free inspection included in their service plan and broke the heating elements in the heater and would not fix for free. The technician lied and told the manager they did turn off the electrical. Our septic pump also failed only 6 months after they installed it.
This company is over priced and not trust worthy. The techs seem friendly and they are very punctual and available however not quality. Rip off. heir service plan is not worth the discount.

Theres a 3 hr window but you can pick a.m. or p.m. Ask for Nick or Robert (very experienced guys). Quality work. To date ive had: HVAC plumbing pipe replaced due to leak, kitchen sink drain & basket replaced (causing link under sink) and a new sump pump installed which came out nice (i had my electrician also place a dedicated plug for it too). Two young workers prior to Robert & Nick didnt seem experienced enough. One had a very exp'd supv oversee his sump pump install. The second missed the cheap drain & lack of putty in kitchen sink but they/BF, made it right...i demanded exp'd guy or gal and Robert arrived..restored my faith! You have option to pay monthly fee, 3 lvls of priority are then given you or not. I really like this business.

I'm a general contractor and this is by far the worst plumbing company I have worked with. I had my client call you guys for a basic shower stall install and you did anything but what I had asked when I was more than happy to make accommodations for you. You charged my client $15,000 for a shower stall that I saw for $2,000 and shouldnt have cost the client more than 5,000$ total. You cracked the frame when installing, mangled the bathroom door trim and didn't even level the base. I am absolutely appalled by how my client was completely taken advantage of for some shotty work. Will never recommend.
