I've been using them for quite some time, and had some very good experiences with them in the past.
Yesterday I noticed a very bad leek in a bathroom. Called and they had a spot from 1-3 today.
I got a call at 1230 saying they had to change the appointment to 3-5. That was wired, but fine.
It's now 745 and still no plumber and no call. Only good news is that I'll make some money on the deal.
For others who use the service- use coupons! They become very reasonable with the right coupon.

they are the highest priced-quoted plumbing service i have ever dealt with! the techs are ok.....but next time they try to rob someone, bring a gun!
my quote: replace a 50 gal gas water heater: $1649! really dude! to changed one kitchen standard faucet: $599. i was floored! these guys are absolutely a scam!!!! the last straw was when i asked for the make and model of the water to be installed: they told me i would find out what it is when it shows up.
highway robbery!! buyer beware all: Benjamin Franklin plumbing!
here is a great hint: purchase your water heater from a dealer; sears, home depot, lowes, locke supply and then go to red beacon dot com, a home depot contractor site like angies list, but free for the consumer got an awesome install bid of $200 from a lic master plumber, bonded and insured and a kick @$$ water heater for $400 from locke supply. 9 yr warranty. :) saved money.....great service and i told ben to take a hike!
benjamin, you have no ethics......and you are a disgrace in the plumbing industry! shame on you!!!

Highly over-priced and unprofessional!
I recently called this plumber out to do work on my rent house because our regular plumber was booked. At first the seemed great. But then it got awful.
I should first tell you that their prices are more than double what any other plumber charges. Not an exaggeration. They quoted me $503 just to snake the house from the roof. I have had this done before and didn't pay anywhere near that. I was so shocked I called the company before agreeing to pay. I also called 3 other plumbers to get quotes for comparison. The 3 other quotes ranged from $117 to $189 for the exact same service.
I tried to reason with the guy at the main office and ask him why the prices were so high. Finally I agreed to pay ONLY because my renters were short on time and I didn't want to make them wait for another plumber. At that point the service manager told me, "I don't think it's in our best address to service this house since you seem to be upset about the price". I couldn't believe it. I told him, again that it was fine and I would just pay it. He refused and told me they wouldn't do it.
So, I am just warning you. Double the price and unprofessional. When I called another plumber, they were not surprised to hear that Ben Franklin charged that much. They just laughed and said "Yeah, we have heard".
Good luck and fair warning.

If you got money to waste choose this company.Several month ago they installed a new water heater at my house. A few weeks later we discovered a leak cause of poor sodering.Luckily our city requires automatic shutoff sensor in case off leak. This saved us from major flooding. In october 2013 we discovered a leak in our yard.We called Benjamin Franklin .The same mechanic showed up and told us about 500 dollar for the first 2 hours digging and leak locating. He started digging at the water meter and quickly run out of daylight since it was in the afternoon. He told us he would be back in the morning, that he was in experts in leak detection and bring a geo phone (what ever that is) and quickly find the leak.He came back with a couple of hispanic diggers which even spoke english. They kept up digging and tearing up the yard.In the meantime he approached us with an $4300 cost estimate.Everything was torn up in the front yard and we reluctantly agreed. He finally found the leak next to the house foundation. He sodered in a new piece of copperpipe, added a second shutoff valve close to the house were the leak was.You would think a guy with his selfproclaimed experience level would figure out earlier were the leak is.He was was just running up the bill. After very poorly covering up the trenches they dug they left after we paid. Not surprisingly last week we had another leak in the front yard, called Benjamin Franklin. The same mechanic showed up went strait were he previously sodered and said his soder did not hold(warranty coverage). He resodered and left without making sure there was no more leak.Sure enough there was still a leak at another spot were they previously dug it up chasing the leak.We called them again and after dark another mechanic showed up and said they had not worked at that area and it was not covered by their warranty.Called the manager in charge and he told me the same thing.I dug it up finally my self and somebody had damaged our sprinklerline to the shut off valve when they previously dug it up and it finally leaked.I fixed it myself took me 1 hour.No courtesy at all from this company. Save your hard earned dollars and run away from this company. If I could give this service a 1/2 star I would. . Gross overcharge of service. bill. Ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, EVER! BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER. PRICING RIDICULOUS.

Save your hard earned dollars and run away from this company. If I could give this service a 1/2 star I would. This was the second time working with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. First time was great this time it was absolutely awful, Gross overcharge of service. The man was here for 30 minutes to include writing up the bill. He ran an auger down one shower drain $199. The bathtub next to the drain he removed the stopper and pulled hair out - took a couple minutes. The charge for for that was $108. With a $59 service call the 1/2 hour cost $362. Ridiculous. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, EVER! BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER. PRICING RIDICULOUS.

Last Friday a water pipe broke in our yard and we called Benjamin Franklin. I was happy with the service even though it was extremely expensive (~$400 an hour with minimal material required). When the plumber was done, the yard was clean and the grass looked perfect. Well, four days later the same area began leaking. We called the plumber and were told that the area of pipe that broke was not what was fixed originally but they would cover it under the warranty. I was a bit skeptical since it was leaking from the same exact location but since they stated they would fix it under warranty I did not argue with them. According to the plumber they were really swamped so they needed to come back three days later -- again, I had no issue with this since we had running water in the house. I was even told that I did not need to be home for today's repair.
Long story short, I come home today and the yard is completely torn up. The cover won't close over the hole (I had to clean away the debris to close it), trash on the street, trash in the box, mud everywhere. I also had a nice note that my warranty is now null in void and all future work will not be covered.
I was more than accommodating and was never upset with them until now. If the pipe breaks again, I will use CW or some other plumber. Benjamin Franklin is way too expensive for a repair that lasted less than a week. I am $1,200 the wiser now I suppose.

They came out to my house on sunday afternoon,my supply line to the toilet was leaking the valve was bad after 20 years.Alex came in and replaced the valve and installed the new valve and put the mechanisms inside the tank,he did not have the replacement hose put told what to get and now it works great .I am pleased byy the service and the costs!

I don't know what office the plumber was sent from. There was no address on the estimate form provided but honesty and integrety is evidentally not Ben Franklin's policy. I had a few problems I needed an estimate for which was free. I had a bathroom sink drain problem for years and usually took care of it will Gel after my husband passed away. This time it didn't work in my 43 year old home.
The plumber was on time and said he had 25 years experience. He took my word for the problem I was having and never turned the water on. The plumbing for both bathrooms in the house is inside one wall. He saw where the roof vent was for the plumbing and said that it was not in the right place to clean out the line and not to code and there should be a vent for each device in both bathrooms, therefore cleaning through the vent wouldn't work. He said he needed to cut a hole through the wall papered back wall, install an access panel [per code] and cut a hole in the drain pipe [install a clean out ] to clean out the stoppage [guessing that was the problem]. All this would cost $750.00! My son came over later, took our roto-rooter up on the roof, and cleaned it out!
The plumber also checked my leaky fill valve for my expensive low profile Eljer toilet. He couldn't figure out how it worked because he had never seen one before. Of course he didn't have the valve or a flapper that worked in his van. He called it a special order and would charge $383.00 to get the parts and fix it.. He wanted to sell me a new toilet for $489.00 and take the other one away! He would charge $250.00 to install one I purchased elsewhere. When he left that afternoon, he left my shutoff valve leaking. I called their service number when I discovered the leak and they were going to charge me around $165.00 after hours service fee to fix the problem. I refused to pay and said their plumber caused the problem and they need to fix it. They finally got confirmation and sent another plumber out to check it. He first said the cutoff valve would need to be unsoldered and replaced then I pointed out the valve was on a threaded pipe so low and behold the packing nut being tightened fixed the leak. Thank you and good night! My son bought the fill valve at his local plumbing supply in Keller, TX for $18.00, bought a flapper and a ring to build up the drain hole and fixed all issues with the toilet.
Needless to say I was being taken to the cleaners and would not use this company for anything. I feel they are in the business to get the most money they can for a simple service. I think this company needs lessons in ethics and honesty!

I had several leaks under my house and they came out and gave me an estimate. I always get three estimates and they were the first one, so I thanked them and sent them on there way. After I got the other two estimates I am kicking myself for not letting Benjamin Franklin do the work the first time. The other two companies were jokes and one of them even smelled like beer. Benjamin Franklin was not the cheapest, but they were still in the ball park and their warranties were ten times better than the other two. They performed the work in one day and even cleaned up better then I had left it.

I have to agree with others on here....way too expensive!! I had a pipe break between the meter and the sprinkler system and the plumber they sent said it would be at least $449 to dig the hole and $249 to fix the pipe! Unbelievable! I was furious but...I had already been without water for 24 hrs and it was now late Sat afternoon so they pretty much had me. I think the plumber felt bad and he actually came down to $249 to dig the hole but even he admitted it was easy and only took 5-10 mins. They also said that their trucks were fully stocked but he had to run to Lowe's for some "special glue" and I'm sure that time was included in what I was billed as well. Will not be using them again! This job was an easy job (completed within an hour) and should not have cost more than $200.
