Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, serving Lake and Mendocino Counties, was founded by Stan Kincannon as an independent plumbing business called Super Rooter in 1995. As the years passed, Stan saw the benefits of becoming a franchisee, such as clear pricing, punctual service guarantees, outstanding warranties, and reliable customer feedback, prompting him to join the Clockwork Home Services family as a Benjamin Franklin Plumbing franchise in 2006.

Stan Kincannon hails from the plains of Northeastern Montana (brrr) and relocated to the Bay Area in 1981 to pursue his college education, graduating Cum Laude from John F. Kennedy University with a bachelor’s degree in Holistic Health in 1983. He furthered his education in health with a Master’s Certificate from the Institute of Experiential Therapy. Stan is happily married and has two grown kids.

In the fall of 1988, Stan started his plumbing career at a plumbing wholesale distributor in San Francisco. In 1992, he shifted to the service and repair side of the industry after relocating to Lake County. In 1995, he started his own business and now possesses licenses for California General Contracting (B), Plumbing (C36), and Sanitation Systems (C42). He is a certified installer for Rinnai tankless water heaters, Wirsbo Aquapex, and has completed water heater sizing training through AO Smith, as well as being certified in water treatment by ProSystems. There are definitely not enough stars to be given. We had quite a serious plumbing problem. After just moving from Marin County to Kelseyville two months ago, we found what we think is our retirement home. That being said, we've never owned a home with a septic system.

Stan the owner sent his employee Ken. Ken not only took the time to explain every detail he was doing procedurlly but took his time. He wasn't rushed and after doing A, B, then C boom, he found the problem. It was raining, cold and stinky. Ken made no issues with anything. He fixed the problem.

We will ONLY use Ben Franklin as our ""go to"" plumbing company.

Thank you Stan and Ken.

I called and they were able to come the next day. Nice people but when they came out and looked at the problem, the service person implied it would take some time to fix and could cost me up to $518, but might only be $390. The way he e planned it I was under the impression that it would take a couple of hours at least. I agreed to have the work done. Imagine my surprise when less then 20 minutes later he was done. And I was still charged $390! That's more than a surgeon makes! Now less than 3 weeks later, I have another leak in the same area. NOT calling them again! And in case you're wondering, no they did not use a lot of replacement parts that would explain the price. He used one piece that would have cost me less than $20.00 at Home Depot

Last night my water heater died. Not an insurmountable occurrence. So first thing this morning I placed a call to Ben Franklin Plumbing as I have used them before.

Well after waiting all morning and into the afternoon, the plumber arrives. I was very glad to see him as we had to turn our water off at the street. I was sure it would not be much longer until all systems were restored.

The young man took a look at the water heater and it was decided it would have to be replaced. So the young man went back to his truck to quote a price. After he found the correct replacement water heater, he turned the book around so I could see the price. After blinking several times, the figure finally registered in my brain. $1,458. Yes, that is correct.

Now I know business is business. I get that. But seriously. I politely thanked the young man and explained I did not have that kind of money. I said I would attempt to get one on my own. His response, ""Good luck with that"". It was at this time I decided to call Mendo Mill. I was quoted a price of $329.99 and it was in stock. So in the end Ben Franklin thinks charging $1100 in labor is acceptable business practice. I am here to warn everyone, ""When considering Ben Franklin Plumbing, get a second opinion.

Blake was a perfect circle- always worked with us on pricing before he did any work. Did absolute A+ job on ALL work. Stayed LATE IN THE EVENING TO FINISH! Always explained why or why not something needed to be done. NEVER tried to overextend his man hours or products he installed. Very thorough and professional. Cleaned up any messes. Checked with his bosses before any major work or if he wasn't sure about something, rather than just diving in pell mell. Spent SO much time talking with us, explaining how the plumbing system worked. Super experience. Highly-recommended. We have a new permanent plumbing company.

Called and got an appointment pretty fast, the guy Stan?) Was a smart #ss but I needed my pipe fixed. He sent Kelly who took a look at my tankless water heater and wouldn't touch the small leak on an elbow pipe underneath the heater. It had nothing to do with the water heater! I wouldn't trust him to work on anything else because he obviously didn't know what he was looking at. Call Chan's instead, he was super nice, professional and had no problem fixing a small leak. I should have had the confidence to fix it myself. Next time I will!

I had an ""emergency"" with a house full of relatives for a few days--two of three toilets were plugged up! This was during the day time but on a Saturday. Their web site advertised 24/7 Emergency Service, so I called. The lady answering the phone (business like but not friendly) said a tech was on a service call and would call me as soon as he was free. He called within a half hour, but said he could get to me on Monday. 24/7 Emergency Service?!! Right!

I called Roto-Rooter. Their tech called back in just a few minutes, arrived at my house within 10 minutes, and solved the issue within a half hour (snaking an outside clean-out). By Monday, I'll have forgotten there ever was a problem!!

Called BFP because I had toilet that would not drain. All other sinks and toilets were draining fine. I stated I wanted BFP to pull the toilet and snake the line. I was told the charge would be 350.00. I sent BFP away. I pulled the toilet myself and found a large bolt in the line the was catching the toilet paper preventing the line to drain. I had called Rotor Router and they arrived after I had pulled the toilet and removed the bolt with a coat hanger. We laughed at the situation and he provided me new bolts to tighten the toilet and left my residence without charging me a dime.....Thats customer service......I will never use BFP from Ukiah Ca......The plumber was rude and disrespectful when I refused to authorize 350.00.
