I just had a great experience with Ben Jacob's Plumbing. I called and they came out within a few hours to assess the situation. Within 24 hours, everything was fixed. He explained what was going on really well and was very professional. I highly recommend.
Mitch A.Yakir came by, knew exactly what was going on with my old sinks from 1933, and made them work well again, as well, he cleared a stubborn clog in one of the drains. I'm very pleased with him and his work. I'd recommend him to anyone needing any plumbing work.
Excellent courteous professional reasonable and quick service.
michael e.Just had Ben Jacobs Plumbing over to my Russian Hill building to fix a couple of problems. I was prepared for an expensive bill to replace a toilet and fix a claw-foot tub that leaked. He was able to repair the toilet and replace a seal on the tub. Great work! Great price, Thanks to Elisha Mayost, my contractor who recommended Ben Jacobs Plumbing.
Christopher V.Ben Jacobs Plumbing is, as far as I am concerned, the only plumbing outfit to call. I have known Ben for four years and he is the only plumber allowed to touch our house. Ben is very honest and straightforward in his dealings; he tells you upfront how much the work will cost and he never tries to jack it up with excuses about how the work was harder than he had thought. More important, Ben does ""museum-quality"" work. He is an ""old world"" craftsman and he takes pride in his work.
We have an old house and we try to retain its vintage qualities. Ben understands that and works to avoid wrecking original woodwork, tile, etc. He restored our vintage Art Deco bathroom plumbing and worked with a tile expert to ensure that the new shower pan matched the old as closely as possible.
Finally, Ben is a one-man operation. He doesn't show up with a ""helper"" and then disappear. He does all the work himself.
In conclusion, don't waste your time with some unqualified bozo. Call Ben for the best plumbing in town!
Marianne H.We had a troublesome leak under the kitchen sink. Yakir understood what was wrong, helped me pick a new faucet, changed out the pipes and implemented the perfect solution with perfect style. AND-cleaned the workplace sparkling! He is highly skilled and a professional business man. Do not call some iffy franchise! Call Ben Jacob Plumbing for a job well done.
Yakir did a bathroom remodel for me and also replaced all my old pipes with copper ones. He's also fixed some other plumbing problems. He is honest and extremely knowledgeable. A plumber you can trust makes for peace of mind in my book!
Mary M.Honest and awesome plumber. I was afraid that my elderly parents would be taken advantage of when their water heater broke, but Ben was great, honest, affordable, friendly and knowledgeable. He saved us from getting a larger water heater than we needed, which saves us money in the long run too. He secured the water heater for earthquake safety with minor carpentry.
He remembered us when we called with a toilet emergency. He came on short notice and was very affordable considering the emergency situation.
I would recommend Ben Jacob's Plumbing to everyone.
Ben did the renovation on our bathroom. He was very honest and gave us a fair price. The work was first class and on time. It was refreshing to find a plumber who made sure you understand your choices and made sure you were really happy with the results. He certainly put the customer as a top priority. I will highly recommend him and I will call him again for future jobs.
Because of constant dryer vent issues, I was getting a leak in my living room ceiling due to the condensation from my upstairs dryer. I decided to call a contractor to see if it was possible to move my dryer as well as my washer downstairs to my garage to avoid any future water damage.
I called General Contractor Elisha Mayost to ask him if he was available to work on moving my washer and dryer to my garage as well as setting up the related water and vent hookups. Elisha said he was booked but said that he could recommend a great plumber who could do such up job. He gave me the number for Ben Jacobs Plumbing so I gave him a call. Ben mentioned over the phone that it would cost $40 bucks to come out to have a look but that the money would be deducted from the cost of the project if I decided to use him for the project. He also made me aware that such a project could be expensive, but I decided to have him come out anyway.
When Ben came out to my house, he took a look at my garage and also took a look at my current washer and dryer hookups. He carefully explained to me all the things that would have to be done if I were to move the washer and dryer down to my garage and a ballpark of the costs. He also made some great recommendations on how to fix my current dryer vent problems as well as what he thought were the best and most cost effective approaches to fix other issues I had with my current washer and dryer setups. He even leveled my washer so it wouldn't vibrate so much in the spin cycle and also checked my attic to see if my current dryer vent had enough insulation. After talking to Ben, I decided to follow his recommendations and not move the washer and dryer to my garage..
The time and advice that Ben provided me today was money well spent. It's great when you can find a contractor who is honest and very insightful. I will definitely use him for any plumbing problems in the future.
