They get the one star because their card was nice. They were sent to me by my home warranty company. It took a few days to wait for them to contact me. I finally had to call warranty place and have them contact them. He came out and showed me a small calcified nub inside my toilet tank and asked me if i used bleach tabs. I told him no, my husband doesnt like them. He said he needed to contact warranty place to ok the part. A few days later no word. So i called beekman. They said they were waiting for word from warranty. Next day i call warranty. They said he barely called them the night after i called him. Warranty lady and i compared times. He told them i admitted to bleach tabs. I straightened that lie out and demanded a trustworthy plumber. Now my toilet is fixed. Avoid them!

Replaced my water heater and brought me up to code. Did a nice job and showed up on schedule. Thanks!

John, I am a customer, not begging for you to work for free. No, you are not doing me a favor. We had a business agreement and relationship but you were treating your customer as someone who is begging you to fulfill it.
Story:
1. Scheduled to come out on 12/3 to fix garbage disposal. You gave me a call on 12/1 telling me that you hurt your leg and needed to reschedule. No problem, no fuss. I agreed to reschedule and asked that you take some rest and heal up. We rescheduled to 12/10 at 9AM.
2. At 12/10 9.30AM, you told me that you are on the way and 15 minutes away. During the phone call trying to reschedule, I specifically mentioned to the lady on the phone that I had to leave for work at 10. Are we certain that the work can be completed within an hour so I can leave for work on time. I was assured that since it is only a garbage disposal, it would be completed within the hour. When you call me at 9.30AM and told me that you were arriving at 9.45, there is no way you could have completed the job at 10. Not only were you not apologetic for coming late, you told me that my expectations for you to arrive at 9 was not realistic. You told me that it was raining and you travel on traffic and not information traffic (the internet where there is no traffic), and you could not predict the arrival time and blamed it on the weather.
You told me you were going to call me as soon as you are back in office.
3. On 12/17, a week later, you finally called me back to try and reschedule for a time. The only available time slot is a Tuesday 12/22, 1.00 - 2.00PM. Um, John, I too am a working person where I have a working schedule of 9-6PM. I have to request for a time off to accommodate your time. I would appreciate it if you were more flexible in having available time slots to choose from and not give the customer a single time slot to either take it or leave it.
So, no. I did not like the overall business experience as you were condescending to me and did not have the same respect for each other's time.
The lady on the phone was definitely very nice and accommodating. +1 star for her.

Absolutely taken aback by what happened today. We've been customers of Beekman's since 2009. John Beekman stopped by earlier in the week and gave us a quote of $185 to fix a slight leak in the main valve that's connected to the pressure regulator. He came over to do the work today. Took everything apart. Left. Came back and told me that he couldn't do the job because he didn't have the part and couldn't find it at Home Depot. When I asked him what I was to do with no water on a late Friday afternoon, he told me that it wasn't his problem! He yelled at me and told me that he wouldn't charge me for his time! Gee, thanks Beekman! Been on the phone since the jerk left trying to get someone over to fix the damage done. We'll have no water tonight and can only hope that things get fixed first thing in the morning. We should bill Beekman the $490 estimate we've been given to fix his screw-up! Is this how you treat long-time loyal customers???

Warranty company assigned this claim to Beekman's Custom Plumbing for a failing food waste disposer. John called to go through the work order, gather some details on the existing unit, known plumbing history, then schedule the appointment for the next day. John sent a message the day prior to let me know where I was in the queue. He called 15 minutes before he arrived and showed up on the dot. When John was here I told him what I expected from the new disposer (what we use it for and how often) and he made some upgrade recommendations to make sure my expectations were met. He was able to pick up the new unit and install it the next day.
Above and beyond: John went through the quick start guide (highlight new features over the last unit). Showed me how to use the jamming tool and where it was located if needed. Best of all he reviewed the product warranty, his service guarantee and how to go about getting the in-house support should I ever need it.

These guys are great. They showed up early answered all the questions and helped us with the home warranty we had as well.

I don't like to leave negative reviews. But I called yesterday afternoon and at opening this morning with a plumbing emergency. No Response.
I called every hour with no one picking up (still no call back).
I then ""messaged"" via Yelp.
I called another place and the person was empathic and will be here within the hour.
I hope this review has them responding to customers sooner. I would expect such from a professional company. :-(

Great Great Service
Like most of us, I expected the worst and hoped for the best when it came to my plumbing screw-ups in our kitchen and bathroom.
After working with Beekman's, I now have peace of mind . Beekman's plumbing is quick, honest, and extremely reliable. Everything was explained to me and their rates were very reasonable. Highly recommended!!!

We have had a great experience using Beekman's. John & his wife Amanda are super helpful & friendly.
We called them out to snake our sewer line shortly after we bought our house. Within a few days it was backed up again & it was apparent that the line had issues & would likely have to be replaced. John was kind & honest and willing to work with us to bring the cost down by letting us do the digging to replace the pipes and by being very flexible and responsive with our timeline.
We have been very happy with the quality of work and the service from Beekman's. Highly recommended.

Great plumber. I've met and worked with various plumbers and Beekman's is the best by far. John really knows his stuff and speaks in a no-nonsense way. He is very helpful, and when there are choices involved, he presents them very clearly and neutrally even if one choice involves me going with someone else.
We have been very impressed with him and his work, and highly recommend him.
