Called Bear Valley Plumbing And Heating after the water company notified us about a leak at our cabin. They charge $99 just to come out which is NOT applied to work done. The problem ended up being a leak at the hose bib outside. They charged $399 to replace it. They also added an insulating sleeve. Total costs, $499 to pretty much replace a hose bib! Total rip off! Be forewarned, shop around off the mountain. They also suggested a furnace maintenance for $395. We had it done the next day from a company in Victorville for $49.

I wish they owned every business here. Honest, prompt, efficient, and they know what they are doing. They send a photo of the tech so you aren't wondering if the tech is a serial killer who intercepted your conversation. They thoroughly explain everything. Look, sorry to say this about BB but it is the kind of town that rarely follows through. It drives me nuts. But this company would beat the socks off of any competition anywhere, so here, they are better than gold. Take a break from the crazy, hire a company that acts like a company. You will thank me for it. There aren't enough thumbs up to express how great BB Plumbing and Heating is.

I have used them in the past and they were great. Unfortunately I cannot get a hold of them to cone back out. I don't know if they are just too busy or what. I'd love to hear from them

Quentin did a great job and explained everything in detail. Since we had to get a new furnace, we got a system with a humidifier and air purifier. The air quality feels a lot better in our home. We trusted them because we have hired them to work on the luxury properties we manage.
They answer calls, remind about appointments and show up as expected (something you can't always count on in Big Bear). When asked, they followed up right away.

The new furnace didn't work perfectly right out the box but the guys were on it and tested everything. small changes were made now it's working perfectly. Great service thank you.

The work that this company did to install a new water line has caused significant flooding in our build up. They refuse to call us back or come out to fix the work that they did to remedy the issue. They installed a ""stop & waste"" 6 inches from the front of our house and the footer, and the trench that they dug is allowing water to get in under the footer and into our crawl space. This has caused significant flooding and they are completely washing their hands of any responsibility, claiming that it's a water shed issue. We had a general contractor come out and evaluate the problem and he said ""with 100% certainty"" that the water intrusion was a result of the work they did. See photo attached for their ""warranty"" and commitment to the work they do. All smoke and mirrors.

In October of 2024 BVPH fixed a main water line leak from the meter box at the street to our house. I initially thought they did a good and quick job until this last week weekend (Feb 2025) when BB got significant rain and snow. 100+ gallons of water has now leaked into our buildup / crawlspace under the house where they dug the new water line and tunneled under the foundation. It is seeping into the closet outside the buildup and lower bedroom and now I'm concerned about water damage. The experienced contractor I had over to diagnose the water intrusion said the flooding is 100% coming from their trench that they dug under the foundation / footer and their work - see the proof in the video he took (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=th75HyI9DQk) and how they did not backfill the hole on the interior/crawlspace side. Bear Valley Plumbing and Heating came back out yesterday and what was their solution? - To backfill 1 sq foot of earth on the interior side of the footer where the line is coming in which they should have done originally, but didn't. That's it. The technician, Quentin, then informed me he wasn't going to charge me for that (LOL) and then blamed everything on past water intrusion issues. He thinks that filling in a little dirt on the interior is a sufficient enough fix for the massive amount of groundwater that is now leaking into our house and the lower level from where they tunneled the new line under the foundation. I have video evidence of him on our front ring camera making no attempt to inspect the exterior under the deck where the put the stop and waste 6"" from the front of our house. He walked right by it with another clueless technician, pointed at the french drain in front of the deck, and determine it was nonoperational by just looking at it. This guy was working on our heater a week ago, and now he's making plumbing assessments about a job he didn't even work on without even glancing at the exterior work? What a joke.
My brother in law is a licensed plumber and said with confidence after watching the contractor's video they did a half-assed job waterproofing around the line and backfilling / compacting the dirt at the front of the house where the stop and waste is, regardless of potential watershed issues at the front. Water is collecting there and seeping into the build up through their stop and waste hole and new trench they dug under the front deck. Their excuse: ""that's where the last stop and waste was. you would have had this issue regardless"" I spent $13,299 on this project - they fixed one issue and created another MASSIVE one for us and are now washing their hands of responsibility to do something. Contractor said he would have charged $9k - $10k for this project and said I was overcharged. I told Quentin, the technician, I was unsatisfied with his remedy and he told me a supervisor would contact me today. I have called 6 times today, and not a single person has called me back. It's now 5 pm and they're closed. Still no call or effort to make it right. They claim to be a ""reputable"" company and ""stand by their work"" with a ""5 year warranty."" What an absolute joke.
Another issue with same company:
I have now spent $1,000 for them to fix my heater and it is still not working properly. $650 calibration/maintenance was suggested by same guy, Quentin, and they ended up breaking the circuit board during that ""work"" which they replaced quickly in a matter of days, but after that, the heater stopped working again. They now suggest different ""error"" codes are the issue and that it needs a new ""limit switch"" for an additional $400. Googling ""Goodman Limit Switch"" online says the part costs $25. I had to call back to get them to waive the $99 site visit fee too which they said they'd apply to the job but didn't. Still don't have a fully functioning heater even though it is only 2 years old.
$14,300 later across two projects that I have paid this company to still not have a fully functioning heater and to now have an even bigger water intrusion issue than I had before the leak in the main line.
One last thing to note: they quoted me $24k for a 3-zone mini split system last year. These units maybe cost $1,500 apiece for a total of roughly $5k for the hardware/parts. ~$19,000 additional for what, labor? Price gouging as other reviewers have mentioned, thinking their customers are too stupid to do their own research.
Update: found their direct line today (909-585-0272) Rebecca their ""manager"" hung up on me three separate times before I could get a word in and kept referring to the email they sent me with their attorney's info. Perfect example of their integrity, commitment to their customers and ""work.""
You have been warned.

Excellent response and service from Quentin and the entire team. My insurance company gave me a short-time requirement nd the Bear Valley team was able to make it happen for me. I greatly appreciate their effort.

These folks are great. Both Kyle (Heater Repair) and Quentin (Plumber) were very responsive and professional. They did everything they promised and followed up with a detailed invoice along with a quotation for additional work that I requested.

I needed to resolve a leak behind the shower wall in my Big Bear Cabin. Quinten arrived and got straight to work! He was informative and explained everything he was doing in detail! The issue was resolved in a timely manner. I would highly recommend this company, in particular, Quinten as he was as professional as one would expect! Thank you for resolving our problem!! -Caesar
