Balanced Comfort Cooling Heating & Plumbing - Fresno
Company Overview
Balanced Comfort Cooling, Heating, and Plumbing stands as the largest locally-owned HVAC and plumbing provider in the Central Valley. Our services extend to include Water & Mold Remediation. Discover why we boast over 3,000 5-star reviews online.
Established in 2012 by Aaron Husak, Balanced Comfort began its journey by collaborating with PG&E and the City of Fresno to perform energy efficiency audits in local homes. Conducting 200-300 audits each month, we assisted homeowners in reducing energy consumption and enhancing home efficiency.
Balanced Comfort extended its service range in 2019 by joining the PG&E Energy Savings Assistance Program. Yet, the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 interrupted our main source of income, the ESA program. To support our 25 employees, we adapted by concentrating on heating and air conditioning services in the Central Valley.
Since that moment, Balanced Comfort has expanded its services to include plumbing and restoration. We have expanded our divisions for heating, air conditioning, and weatherization as well. Balanced Comfort remains committed to the community, thriving as a business dedicated to local service.
Aaron Husak started his journey in residential energy efficiency in 2006 while working for a solar company in San Diego. Since then, he has been dedicated to helping homeowners comprehend and lower their monthly utility expenses. He saw many homeowners adopting solar energy without comprehending why their utility bills were still elevated.
Having grown up in Sanger, Husak saw an opportunity to help his friends and neighbors improve their home's comfort and energy efficiency. He returned to Fresno in 2012 to establish Balanced Comfort and has been addressing air conditioning, heating, and ductwork issues for customers ever since.

Recommended Customer Reviews

I needed a new hot water heater and started on bids for this project. They gave a decent bid and was impressed impressed with the representative and his straightforward approach to my problem. Was not the cheapest bid but have found out that is not always the most beneficial.
Zack came through and worked hard and gave me satisfaction and quality work. Would recommend him anytime.

BEWARE They came out to fix my heater and told me mine was shot then tried to sell me a new system for $21,000! I had Mountain Aire come out and they cleaned my filters and my heater works perfectly.

Used their $99 special to unclog my drain and was pleased with their service but then you are on their spam list. They will call and text 3 days a week until you tell them to stop. Probably wont use them the next time i need service.

Not happy with them! Sorry I used them. Should have done more research on them. I really don't want to leave a star.
week in July and now it's
November

They came and charge us $99 for membership fee even though they say it's free diagnostics and estimates. They didn't give us the list that needs to be done for our centralized heater and AC.

Let me just start off by saying, if I could leave 0 stars I would. Last year my heater stopped working mind you my unit is only 2 years old. They came out and said I needed a new motor so I paid around 900$ for the motor to be replaced.
I quickly noticed that the heater was still not working and had them come back out to see what the problem was. I had to pay for a service fee so I let them know that I just wanted a quote for a new thermostat while they were out there because I had an eco bee and I just wanted a more simple one without a screen.
They then said that the thermostat was the problem and that's why my heater wasn't turning on. The prices for a thermostat were completely outrageous 600$+ considering I can literally go to Home Depot and buy one for 40$ and literally do it myself. But I didn't believe that the thermostat was the issue because my ac still turned on and when I turned on the heater the fan would turn on but without heat. I called them back out for another diagnosis and told them I didn't feel that was right diagnosis considering my unit was still responding to the thermostat. They said if they found that it was a different diagnosis they wouldn't charge me for the second diagnosis.
They sent out the same tech and he said that the thermostat was still the issue so I had to pay the service fee again. So I went ahead and changed the thermostat myself and guess what ? My heater is still not working. So I gave them a call again and asked if they can come out here and diagnose it correctly without paying a service fee because I just want my heater to work properly and they already made me pay for two wrong diagnostics! They then told me that I would still need to pay the service fee and the problem is that I'm not on their yearly subscription.
This place is all about money, they have inexperienced techs, and they are completely a scam . Do not use this company.
Update:
Your own technician told me it would be cheaper to put a new thermostat myself and that ""I can just take a picture of the wires and match them back up."" So your technician must be inexperienced. Please stop making excuses and take responsibility for your horrible customer service .
We clearly wanted to pay for the service that needed to be done. We don't work on our own hvac unit. We asked for some type of discount on the diagnostic fee nothing more, and u couldn't compensate us . Maybe paying the service fee and then waving the service fee if we did the job with you guys? That would have worked . We told you we wanted to use your company even though you guys gave us the wrong diagnostic twice.
But now we definitely won't be working with you guys so thanks but no thanks aaron .
Update once again:
We had advanced air come out today and they told us that our thermostat was not the problem. The problem is that balanced comfort hooked up the wires incorrectly to the unit. Which caused the thermostat to not send signals to the unit. They hooked up the wires correctly for the price of what balanced comfort charges for a diagnostic fee!! They finished in less than 30 minutes. We called to pay immediately and they told us we don't have to pay until next week because they want to make sure we are satisfied with the work first.
In conclusion, Aaron, clearly your technicians are inexperienced and don't know what they are doing. It took this person who has never been out here 5 minutes to assess the issue. We were never looking for cheap work we were looking to get the work done and we ended up finding a great professional company who did not only get the work done but gave us a great deal and wonderful customer service.

Jorge Soria was very helpful and explained everything that was being done to our unit. Answered all our questions and made sure we were satisfied with his work, which we most definitely were.

Jorge Soria did a great job today! Was on time, clean and professional. Serviced my vents and furnace!

Balanced Comfort seems to send out 2 different technicians each time coming out to assess and measure. They kept stating I had to have an attic or a crawl space, I don't have one in my home. This was asked the first time, then an appointment was made again to verify measurements and training to the fellow that didn't understand about houses without attics or crawl spaces. The next set of techs (2) came out and asked me, do you have an attic or crawl space. I said no and they said I should have one. I explained about the first set of tech that came out here asking about the same thing and how they came out again to teach the fellow that was insistent that I had to have one. They said that's okay and proceeded to the roof to measure again - this is the 3rd time. Finally, the day of installation, they had measured wrong and the hood (elbow) was to small they would have to get it ordered and made probably a couple of weeks. No problem. The next day or two days later, another set of techs come out and said they have the elbow. Wow, that was really fast. Oh, by the way, all of them stomped on the roof, dropped very heavy items on the roof my ceiling and nails were coming through. (I have a 5 yrs old roof - pretty darn new still). In the afternoon they finished and left and I didn't realize that they installed a humongous elbow (hood) and the taping looked like it was crumpled, twisted and just no integrity, plus the hood was completely kicked in - dented on the one side. wow (I couldn't believe my eyes) I immediately called Balance Comfort with my complaint. I said don't send out anymore new techs! So they sent out the first techs and again stomping, dropping , just a racket and the same hood was straighten out a lot and retaped better. The new thermostat (ecobee) was installed and the tech said I would have to read the directions to set it up. They left. I setup the ecobee and the next day my air quality wasn't good. I just was amazed. Balance Comfort had another company come out to pressure check the system and it went well and the next day the ecobee was almost in the red zone - super bad air. Wow! Another tech came out (Benjamin Kampen) took a look and after awhile he went through the thermostat setting with me and just turned off the air quality to not show. I'm okay with that and everything is done. The process was not completed in 8 hrs as was told because of the incorrect measurements taken in the beginning. Suggestion: Teach the crew how to walk on the roof and send qualified technicians out to do the job. My patience was running real short. Joe - thank you for all your help and saving the job for the company. Bravo.

I had Balanced Comfort out to help me install a smart thermostat. Technician was great and cost was reasonable. Very satisfied. They did upsell me a ""surge protector."" Don't know if I need it but I said yes because the guy was so nice and helpful.
A few weeks later I scheduled them to install a new bathroom faucet that I had bought, and also clear a couple of slow drains. Technician was great, again; however, I found out that they ""charge by the job,"" and an hour of labor resulted in a charge over $500. Outrageous. They also quoted another $700 to replace a shut off valve which was more than I could handle. The drain leaked afterwards. They sent another Tech to fix the leak at no charge. Good people but watch out for the ""by the job"" over pricing. Pay careful attention and be prepared to just say, ""No."" Our local plumbers charge by the hour and that's what I was accustom to. Hopefully, at least the leak is fixed. Frustrating.
